I know that mission, people who aren't aware of the Skill point will be attacked by the ZAFT and reply in kind. The 'finish line' at the end is pretty confusing. Some missions can really waste time because there's no limit or the SkP is to destroy someone early on etc, esp on Kusuha's route with Son Ganlon... Not really a newbie guide ,just saying.
go for every Skill Point, you will get the Turn requirement. You also have to remember that some Skill Points need you to destroy someone who runs away after their health falls below a certain level (you can see how much, in the objectives box). If they run away, you do not get the point even though you get the kill. use Support Attack a lot- free hits and no counter for the supporter, who can also move themselves.
if you've accumulated at least 57 Skill points and stayed under a certain number of turns, you get this ending followed up. If not, you get a more normal ending.
And I didn't make it obvious when I said that I hadn't played it? And obviously I know nothing about SRW, I've only played Super Robot Wars 1 and 3 Alpha Gaiden OG1 OG2 and SRW W. Based on what I've seen in @G I'd assumed that the final battle of @1 was the battle of the ultimate defence line (or whatever it was called) and inolved the Space Monsters and Balmarians and the shockwave that was approaching in @G was the one caused by the explosion of the Exelion, then @3 had the last episode.

Having GaoGaiGar, Shin Getter Robo and Raideen turn up wouldn't help them get back home before everyone they'd ever known had died. That's why I said that them turning up wouldn't help.

You've just made it obvious that you haven't even played Alpha or Alpha 3. Nobody said GGG, Getter and Raideen would somehow get them home faster. Speed of return is irrelevant in Alpha 3 because the crossgate makes it instant, not to mention the whole "final boss takes place after Gunbuster's ending" thing.
