    I had a peacock for about 5 years. He left one day about 2 years ago and 2 days ago he came back. Just walked up the driveway and I called his name. He ran up to the front porch. I had some dog food got it and he ate right out of my hand, just like he did. It’s a miracle.

    I am here in India at present, supposedly to answer the call of my roots. Not a single peacock do I get to greet and admire when I step out for a stroll. It was put to me that people however find living here a matter of joy & peace. They have accepted a standard of living, procreated and enforced that standard on their children.

    Any idea how big their territory is (how much land you need for a free-range peacock)? And which species is the least noisy? If you don’t want chicks, would two males keep each other company or fight?

    • @HappyTailsAnimals
      @HappyTailsAnimals  5 лет назад

      You need several acres for the peacocks to stay on your land. There is only one species in captivity, Indian Blue peafowl and they are very noise like any bird. You should not keep two males together without females. There is a color mutation in which the hens are sterile and cannot reproduce. I forget the name of that one but I'm sure you can find it if you look for breeders who specialize in color variations.

    2:29 11:45 am my time
    Hi, I’m looking to rescue a male Peacock but won’t unless I find a pea hen to keep company. My 🎉question is I have a half acre where I have Roosters, Hens Muscovy🎉 Ducks & a lamb.
    All my feathers friends are completely free range I do have shelter for the rain but they all prefer to roost in the trees at night . Do the peacocks need a house or would they be like the others and only need shelter in the rain?.
    Also I’m having to put up an electric netting fence to keep my lamb in would a peacock be ok with that.
    I live in New Zealand and pea hens are hard to find

    Is it possible for you to make a care video about peacocks, especially about housing, what medicines to give, and what food to give?

      +BlackWidowUnicorn if you watch this video everything except for medicine is included. This is a care video so just watch with the sound on.
