  • Peacocks have been treasured birds for thousands of years! Watch this to learn more about them, their impact on culture and how to care for them as pets! Arguably, one of the most beautiful birds in the world.
Hope you guys enjoy this video, I didn’t pick the best time of year to film for it since males are losing tail feathers right now, but I think I came out pretty good anyway. I did not include a pen in this video because none of our peacocks are in cages. They roam freely on our land.

I had a peacock for about 5 years. He left one day about 2 years ago and 2 days ago he came back. Just walked up the driveway and I called his name. He ran up to the front porch. I had some dog food got it and he ate right out of my hand, just like he did. It’s a miracle.

I am here in India at present, supposedly to answer the call of my roots. Not a single peacock do I get to greet and admire when I step out for a stroll. It was put to me that people however find living here a matter of joy & peace. They have accepted a standard of living, procreated and enforced that standard on their children.

Pulling out their tail feathers is mean and will not make them regrow. Think about your bird and not yourself.

Thank you Meghan. Do you let the peafowls freely roam? How long do you have to enclose a newly arrived peafowl in order that it adopts to the new place and stays? Thanx!

Is the peahen at 2:52 albino or is it common for them to be all white sometimes? Also, are the feathers you're selling the ones that fall out at the end of their breeding season? This is a great video! Very interesting :)

White peacocks are actually not albino, that peahen for example has dark eyes. It is a gene mutation that makes them white, its a lack of pigment in their feathers. It just comes out sometimes, randomly. Those are all her chicks following her and as you can see they are all dark, but they carry the gene so they have the possibility of having white chicks. Sorry if that was a long answer. Yes the feathers are from the male's tail feathers that are falling out right now :)
