Thank you for watching my videos! This channel is dedicated to animal education and improving the lives of captive animals.
    Here’s little about me!
My name is Meghan Arriola and I live in Texas with my husband Jaime, where I dedicate my time to taking care of exotic and domesticated animals on my farm. We run a rescue and sanctuary for animals like alpacas, birds and reptiles. I do animal education presentations for groups and schools. Our alpacas also do events where we are able to teach people about these unique animals. I have used service dogs for medical needs for over 10 years and I am an advocate for assistance animals and mental health awareness.
I am an animal educator that brings science related ideas to an audience from around the world by presenting fun and interesting topics in a family friendly way. Animals touch our lives in unique ways everyday as simply being our pets and companions, but how can we make their lives equally as special now that they live in captivity? My RUclips channel and blog explore ways to meet this goal by tackling things like animal behavior, human-animal relationships and veterinary medicine. Animal science is a great way to teach people of all ages that education is fun and nerdy is cool.
My previous animal related work experience includes working in veterinary clinics, private zoos, training horses and volunteer work in wildlife rehabilitation, rescue/foster/adoption programs and therapeutic horsemanship for children with disabilities.
When I am not working with animals, I am working at the health care clinic owned by my husband Jaime and I, where we provide services to low income, minority neighborhoods. We have been on the frontlines fighting covid19. I also have a passion for art and I am an award winning painter and photographer and published author. I am naturally very introverted but I am extroverted about sharing my passions and doing my part to make the world a better place!

As long as you aren't in the city it's almost certainly legal. They are usually considered domestic animals not exotic pets, so the only issue would be laws related to noise, or that restrict all animals.

They dont make noise continuously all night. If you only have one male, he might reply to a pheasant at night. Or sound off if startled by something. If you have two, there is some competition in calls, but still not noisy all day and night. I have 18 roosters (chicken) that crow more often, but not as loud. But I enjoy all the sounds, because its not constant. (Depending on how many birds total)

This is a weird question, but can peacocks get Scaly legs mites?
I have a friend who is a farmer and has chickens and peacocks. When I was there, I discovered his chickens had Scaly legs mite. Are the peacocks in danger too?

Do would one keep them from leaving if they fly? Do they naturally stay around their family unit? Are they good with turkeys?

I live in Iowa and we are having some of the coldest winters. Where would I put my peacock like an outside mesh aviary wouldn’t really work though because it would get under zero a lot.

Will a peacock stay in my yard if I let them roam free? Also how far do they roam? Do they get lost? Do they have flying feathers you can cut like other birds?

Probably a stupid question. But how do they do in cold areas? We have lots of space , but it does snow in winter and get around freezing.

I got a white peahen that showed up yesterday and I'm not quite sure what to do. I gave her some water and some food this morning. She just hangs around my chicken coop all day.

Hello, this is off topic. I have two Alaskan Malamutes both nine months old. I want to start adding sardines so to their meals. But I'm getting mixed information on how much I should give them. What would you recommend? Thank you so much for your time. :)

I use to help my neighbor when I was a kid take care of his peacocks. you are right everyone else hated the noise they made. I always loved it. reminds me of my childhood. but here in Michigan I don't remember what he would do in the winter months to help take care of them. So, Question do you need to provide straw bails or something in the winter months?

My grandpa doesn’t feed his peacocks in the spring because as he was setting up the area he completely uprooted the grass and threw a bunch of scratch feed down mice love that area the peacocks love the mice and you don’t see the birds unless they decide to perch
