- Pencerrig was a Tudor mansion of the Powell family and the abandoned mansion originally belonged to a famous landscape artist Thomas Jones who inherited the place in 1789 and was later inherited by a wealthy heiress Miss Clara Thomas who passed in 1914.
The estate was auctioned off in 1952 and sold to two couples in 1958 who converted the property into a hotel and pony trekking center which was one of the first in the country at the time. The property became listed for its special architectural interest as an early C19 Gothic country house retaining original character and detail, and for its special historic interest as the ancestral home of one of Wales's foremost landscape painters.
The property was then bought 25 years later by a London businessman and has remained abandoned and left since and was also used as a sophisticated cannabis farm operation.

Hello mate, I’m looking for cool places around wales to explore with my friends, we’re planning a 5 day trip all around wales and would love to get an idea where abouts this is and if u have anymore places
This one is very not doable anymore lol and even if you managed it police on the scene as watched by the neighbour and the alarms 😂😂 loads on the channel for you to look at which are very easy to find :)

If you have open access, is there much the police can do other than ask you to leave?
Nah not really as long as you can prove you haven't broken in which we do - they will ask you to move on and not return as if you do then it becomes aggrivated trespass which is criminal

Unfortunately since it got broken into and turned into a cannabis farm the cops have become much tougher on access to this, it's such a shame it has been left to rot as it was an amazing hotel in it's day
Yes this is correct as far as I am aware including myself very few have done this place
I live nearby and friends on mine used to go pony trekking there every now and again when it was operating
me and my team had an... unpleasant interaction with a farmer(?) there when we tried a while back. Just looking around - not even on the property and he got in his Range Rover and chased us a couple miles into the town while trying to hit our car 😱 we're thinking the unjust reaction might've had something to do with the drug farm now 😭 you're lucky you got in though! Great place. I just wish it was the police who confronted us.
aha yeah very few people managed this place and well apparently its owned by a London business man so it may have been the other people using it ;) that chased you off

Don't believe this place is occupied however work could be going on again most likely just sealed and alarmed
@@BeardedReality yes i know the new owner they are currently working there and staying there they have the whole place secured & cameras and only last week had to escort some lads from Ireland who were trying to explore there .They aim to have the place up and running by Autumn
