It’s not stated until later movies but the terminator is specifically a T-800. It’s referred to as a model 101, which is its human appearance. So there are T-800s that don’t look like Arnold, like the one that attacked the Resistance hideout in Kyle’s flashback He’s an advanced machine from the future made to fight and kill in a war with advanced weaponry. He’s gonna be hard to damage. Especially in past times without bombs or tanks. Or factory machinery.
The T-800 is the Endoskeleton and when it has skin it it becomes a Terminator with a CSM number. The Arnold version is a CSM-101 and the Future Terminator is a CSM-108.

No way whatsoever is the sequel a better Terminator film than this. Better/modern SFX. It was a prime example of more actually being less. Good try, just not as good.
2:54 That's from Predator HIGHLY recommend watching that one for a spooky October video if you want. Also if you want to watch a movie with A LOT of Arnold Schwarzenegger noises I also recommend Total Recall (1990) that's silly, it's dramatic, it's TRIPPY, and just a really fun action sci-fi movie.
Recommend doing Alien (1979) next. Then proceed to two of the biggest movie sequels of all time: Terminator 2 and Aliens (1986), both by James Cameron. Makes a pretty good sci fi movie marathon if you watch those in that order
I've seen movies at the theater by myself lots of times--not most of the time, but lots. It's not quite as fun, but there are still others around for that shared experience, even though I don't know any of them. It still works. The one positive aspect is that there is no hassle from logistics, like which snacks or drinks to get, and what to share. It's a slightly different kind of fun. I've been to Disneyland by myself, too. There are both advantages and disadvantages.
Loved 3D Ange for post reaction commentary XD. And yeah, you want to add to the watchlist Terminator 2, Predator, Predator 2 and many other (sometimes cheesy) action films from the 1980's
T2 had better SFX. The first was nailbiting inescapable terror. In 2 the instant they entered the refinery & I saw the molten metal, I knew how they would top off the T1000. Good try, I think the first was way better. 2nd was a prime example of more being less, a LOT less.
Dang, Sarah really must have screwed up Skynet's order at the restaurant. Maybe no one will care 100 years later, but Skynet still wanted revenge 45 years later.
The Terminator recognized Sarah at Tech Noir because he found her community college ID in the drawer under the answering machine, through which she had accidentally told him where she was. The ID had a picture of her, so he knew what she looked like. Fortunately, so did Kyle Reese.
I love that ur editor sometimes gets lk sick of your amazing cheesey humor (that we're here for), but still keeps editing for you anyway because deep down, he thinks it's adorable too, but won't admit it. That's a true friend.
Looking good Ange 😍! Arnold actually auditioned for the role of Kyle Reese (the hero), but James Cameron thought he will be perfect for the terminator. I don't know of any other movies where he plays the villain. One of, if not his best performance.
I live through the 80s and 90s, they're both bad ass time. There are every block of phone booth in downtown and phone available in store and restaurants which have every white and yellow phone book. Every year I volunteers deliver phone books for 5 years lol with 1 ton truck.
I was 15 years old in 1984 when this was released, and my parents were cool enough to buy my ticket to see it while they took my younger brother to see some Disney movie. Guy in front of me literally said, "Blood and guts. TERMINATOR!" Sat there frozen for the whole thing. Mind blown. Talked about it for weeks after. The impact of this film at the time cannot be overstated.
Yes. Born and raised in Los Angeles in 82. Phone books in Phone Booths were common, though they often got stolen... but you needed them to get phone numbers to businesses and people.
Yes, all telephone booths had phone books. I've been alone to the movies most of my life, but twice I had the theater all to myself since the movie wasn't popular. I've also time travelled. I went into surgery on a Monday and was woken up on the following Thursday. I was kept unconscious because the surgeon had to keep going back into my belly to make sure all the infection was removed. So I can claim I time travelled three days into the future. 😁
I remember watching The Terminator on vhs when I was a kid. I watched T1 and T2 so many times before the release of T3 in 2003. I think I have watched The Terminator the most out of any movie that I have seen in my life. Having watched The Terminator on vhs, dvd and blu-ray, I think it sounds the best on vhs. The .45 longslide with the laser sighting had a similar sound effect as the .44 Magnum from the Dirty Harry movies. Brad Fiedel's music in T1 is absolutely haunting and amazing. It sounds the best on the vhs version. Still a fantastic movie regardless and will always be my favorite. 😄
I remember phone books being present at each payphone in the 1980s. You could ask the operator (0) or call directory assistance (411), but that would have been more work for them. Phone books were printed for every household, so why not for every payphone? The Yellow Pages were especially useful for finding business services you might have needed, like a towing company.
Phone books were super useful. I miss them. They were delivered to every house and apartment once a year for free, and yup, they were in every phone booth. Although, in bad areas they got vandalized.
The text at 24:42 You're exactly right. This made big waves and set a new standard in SFX & storytelling. Please look up the deleted scenes that they shot for this. I came back to this, getting ready to watch your view of T2. I really hope you did the extended version. Can't stress that enough.
I haven't seen you in a while, love your new look (although before was great too). And thanks for finally taking up Arnold's movies! You should react to Commando and Predator too 😊
After this are five more films, a 3D theme park attraction, a TV show, comics, graphic novels and videogames. Arnold Schwarzenegger starred in Conan the Destroyer the same year as this. Other notable films released the same year as this include Gremlins, Ghostbusters, Temple of Doom, A Nightmare on Elm Street and Beverly Hills Cop. This was partially inspired by John Carpenter's Halloween and two episodes of the sci-fi series The Outer Limits
As for phone books. The phone company (they were regional at the time) will deliver them to every home. For a fee, you can ask for an unlisted or unpublished number.
yea i love this my friend's brother was a bouncer in the club so my friend and me were extras in the club growing up in LA was so much fun back in the 80's
I've only ever seen a movie with someone else on two occasions, because I've never had friends who would come with me. Not everyone does, it's not a given. Oh well. Guess that's why I watch videos of people watching movies.
Back in the 80s, a lot of people were listed in the official phone books. You could apply for not beeing listed though. In many countries, all the phone lines used to be run by the state or a state owned company. Like the mail and postal service for example. Those also published the official phone books every year, as well as the yellow pages.
Yes. I grew up in the eighties. There were phone booths all over the place and they all had phone books attached. Everything you have heard and seen is true.
3:10 they did great at recreating THIS Arnold in the alternate timeline movies down the line. everybody remembers T2 Arnold as the most iconic, but it was T1 Arnold here, half way between Conan and the defender T2.
Yeah if a T-800 ever says I'll be back, get out of the way, they won't be walking. Also, note the small things. He steps back and looks around. He wasn't checking the molding, he was analyzing the structural integrity of the booth for what he'd need to breach it. He decided driving a car through was sufficient. If it had been like Bank Safe quality he would've gotten a Mack Truck or a bulldozer.
Years ago I wanted to see 'Finding Neverland' with Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet in the movie theater but none of my friends wanted to come with me, so one day we were able to leave school quite early and I went straight to the theater to see this movie. It was the last week the movie would have been played. I was alone. Entirely alone. I was the only one watching this movie. It was weird but great as well. And I could cry as much as I wanted too
Most of my closer friends live in other cities nowadays so I go to the theater mostly alone. Sometimes we can get together for a good movie night, especially in summer or during christmas holidays.
I do take myself to dinner and a movie. It is just the way I roll at this point. When I want to talk about it I come home and talk about it with friends or co-workers who have already seen it.
"You didn't really have as safe of a trip as Arnold's character" I can't remember where I read this but apparently it was to show the superior calculations and accuracy of a machine vs a human when setting the arrival distination.
I saw this in theaters when it came out, and was blown away. Unique experience, at the time, truly. A couple of years later, I bought the VHS. Excited, I showed it to my girlfriend. She hated it. Laughed at it, even. Needless to say, I'm still single.
Awesome ! , also I go to the movies mostly by myself when my friends are busy and yeah the only downside is that I have no one to talk about the movie with 😂😅
@@ANGELINAAthe second one is just as good if not better than the first. So you have a whole new opportunity to see a Terminator movie for the first time!
80s-early 90s action movies were on another level. Also, I think my favorite thing about this movie is that Sarah has a pet iguana for... no reason. You see it once and never again.
Phone booths were common. Outside, inside in hotels, and other businesses. They were like water fountains. Phone books were delivered to residential homes until about 10 years ago or so. And in some cities, there were several versions by different companies. The phone books would have white pages for residential numbers, and yellow pages for businesses. Yes, the psychiatrist WILL make a career out of this... for 6 movies! :}
The reason Kyle and later Sarah always went around with a dog is because, as Kyle explained, dogs can detect the approach of a Terminator as something not human.
17:10 - imagine the after-action report for that police station attack. Figure police stations all around the country get redesigned to prevent a similar entry, while SWAT teams would go over the attack to figure out what mistakes were made by the police and the lone attacker (very few). Let alone people trying to figure out which country the lone attacker came from, or where he was trained.

Makes a pretty good sci fi movie marathon if you watch those in that order
must-see movies
Terminator 2 is my favorite of the series so you absolutely have to watch it. That’s more the Terminator that you know from the memes.
T2 had better SFX. The first was nailbiting inescapable terror. In 2 the instant they entered the refinery & I saw the molten metal, I knew how they would top off the T1000. Good try, I think the first was way better. 2nd was a prime example of more being less, a LOT less.
Makeup on point Ang. Loving your vids as always
Thank you so much 🤗
Absolutely adore the original Terminator. Especially the 80's synthesizers in its soundtrack. Thank you James Cameron and composer Brad Fiedel!
You just earned a new subscriber, Keep up the good work 👍🏻
Dang, Sarah really must have screwed up Skynet's order at the restaurant.
Make sure to watch the other Terminator movies too, especially Terminator 2!!!
She's needs to go in blind
2 still isn't as good as this one. No way.
Your singing in the beginning makes me feel very good for some reason. I have watched it back several times now.
"Get to de choppah!" is from _Predator_ (1987), another absolute must-see sci-fi action classic!
Never seen this channel before but you popped up on my suggestions and instantly won me over with this reaction. "sir your naked" had me howling 🤣🤣🤣
That was a smooth ad transition. Well done.
Also yes, phone books were in every booth and they were delivered to everyone's home every year.
Phone books were super useful. I miss them.
They were delivered to every house and apartment once a year for free, and yup, they were in every phone booth. Although, in bad areas they got vandalized.

You're exactly right. This made big waves and set a new standard in SFX & storytelling.
Please look up the deleted scenes that they shot for this.
I came back to this, getting ready to watch your view of T2.
I really hope you did the extended version. Can't stress that enough.
she's finally watching my favorite movie😊
I haven't seen you in a while, love your new look (although before was great too). And thanks for finally taking up Arnold's movies! You should react to Commando and Predator too 😊
The guy helping Sara, is the same guy that plays Johnny Ringo in Tombstone.
Great reaction. Love the hair!
Yes, in the 80s, there were often phone books in telephone booths. (Not *all* phone booths -- but a lot of them.)
What time stamp do you appear in?
@@carvendee we were off camara i think we looked to young so they stuck us in the corner
Oh so you gotta watch Predator too. Reese, I trust you’re on it
I've only ever seen a movie with someone else on two occasions, because I've never had friends who would come with me. Not everyone does, it's not a given. Oh well. Guess that's why I watch videos of people watching movies.
Lt. Traxler: You're in a public place, so you'll be safe till we get there.
The Terminator: Hold my beer.
"I love cinemasins so much"
oof tough beat for Angelina

Awesome reaction of my favorite The Terminator movie!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊

they did great at recreating THIS Arnold in the alternate timeline movies down the line.
everybody remembers T2 Arnold as the most iconic, but it was T1 Arnold here, half way between Conan and the defender T2.
And I could cry as much as I wanted too
Hahaha I dig your style! Cheers from Paris. Subbed! 😁
Yes there were phone books in every phone booth.
Even the ones that weren't full-on booths.
I actually went to the theater by myself just recently to watch a double feature: "Alien Romulus" and "The Substance". Good times. 👍🏽
Holy shit you haven't seen The Terminator Angelina ?! 🤯, you are so lucky you get to watch The Terminator for the first time I'm seriously jealous 😭😂
It was SO fun to experience!! Wish I could react to it all over again
Awesome ! , also I go to the movies mostly by myself when my friends are busy and yeah the only downside is that I have no one to talk about the movie with 😂😅
Terminator 2 ramps up the epic-ness in every department 🔥
@@ANGELINAAthe second one is just as good if not better than the first. So you have a whole new opportunity to see a Terminator movie for the first time!
Okay now I need to see Arnie as the terminator skipping out of the parking garage more than anything in the world.
80s-early 90s action movies were on another level.
Also, I think my favorite thing about this movie is that Sarah has a pet iguana for... no reason. You see it once and never again.
Phone booths were common. Outside, inside in hotels, and other businesses. They were like water fountains. Phone books were delivered to residential homes until about 10 years ago or so. And in some cities, there were several versions by different companies. The phone books would have white pages for residential numbers, and yellow pages for businesses.
Yes, the psychiatrist WILL make a career out of this... for 6 movies! :}
Yes, all or most pay phones had a local phone book, usually attached with a chain.
I remember, there was a teaser for _Terminator 2_ that came out about a year before it's release and after seeing that, hype doesn't even begin to explain the level of excitement we all had for that movie. It was nuts!
It's a really well scripted and put together film with just the right actors. The entanglement loops were something else! x)
Reese wondered what Sarah was thinking about in the picture and it turns out she was thinking about him.
I was born in '85. I can remember all of the '90s. There were definitely phone books in phone booths then. Used to be phone books everywhere. Kinda miss it, but not much.
Watch the theatrical cut of T2.
Watch the extended later for appreciation.
Ignore any rumors of sequels after T2. They don't exist.
"how did you know who Sarah was?" literally last scene with the answering machine he looks at her ID
At the beginning, with the guys around at the viewpoint, the blue haired is Bill Paxton, a very well known actor who appeared in Titanic, Aliens or Twister, among others.
Tombstone, Predator 2, Weird Science to name a few more.
I have watched a movie in theaters alone and there wasn't even anyone else in that theater room at all, so I was literally alone
Nice to see you watching the all time classic. The early Arnold movies were so great. Part 2 of the Terminator is one of my all time favourites. :)
Talking about early Arnold movies, if you want to hear "Get to da choppa!" you have to watch Predator. It's awesome!
I watched this movie for the first time in theaters when I was 11, and it blew my mind entirely.
Always loved The Terminator, I love time travel stories, it’s a brilliant concept and it holds up well
10:46 rip but do not worry just remember that a knowledgeable young maiden sometimes says [not the point but on youtube if ya curious where the quote is from ].... "Keep calm you got this, you are loved, important, and wanted, you got this"
