So I'm in Group Buy for the Zoom Essential. I was looking at either KTT Strawberry or Banana Splits, primarily, and since you've tried both I'm curious, which do you prefer or maybe which aspects? They're both different but they seem great. I'm very indecisive, it's my first board and I feel like they both are well liked. I haven't been able to find testers that have the TTC Strawberries, or Banana Splits in stock atm so I've just been watching like a billion reviews but since you've tried both figured maybe you'd have an opinion. Great video btw! Edit: Just watched your Halu Halo video and now I'm even more indecisive 😂. At least I have a few months before the board comes in.
Hi Sydney! No worries. Between KTT Strawberry and Banana Splits, I personally like the strawberries more. I also like them just slightly more than the Halu Halos but both are good and it'll just come down to preference. I'm using KTT Roses right now and I like them a lot because of the progressive spring. Roses and Strawberries are pretty tied to me. Luckily the Zoom is hotswap so if you change your mind later or wanna try something different, it's not too bad. Also I believe the strawberries are in stock at Dangkeebs.com now. Thanks for the support :)
Hi! Unfortunately I haven't gotten the chance to try oil kings yet, but in the end it's all preference. Both will be smooth. The biggest difference I'm aware of is that oil kings are much heavier.
They're both very smooth when lubed to the point where I can't say which is more smooth. However, I like the feel and sound of Halu Halos more lubed but I like banana splits a bit more if unlubed.
Yee, i think I overlubed it too lmao, didn't really like it on my brass plate on my tofu65, but i will test on the mw65 I ordered and see if it feels better on a softer plate.
Yeah, I think they are really easy to overlube. They may have a tight tolerance on the housing. I remember liking the stock feeling. I've heard tactiles are good on brass plates but I personally don't like to use tactiles much. Hopefully I'll get a board with a brass plate soon so I can recommend switches based on plates. If I had to guess though, I feel that heavier spring weights would feel better on a stiffer plate.
@@Wongsquared Yes i learned that once I switched from a 68g switch to a 62g switch, huge difference. I totally regret filming them and shoving them in a brass plate, it was nearly impossible to take them back out don't recommend if going on a metal plate. So swapped a 68g progressive spring from a marshmallow to a split, and it does feel a bit better. might order some progressive springs from thicthock lol.
@@Wongsquared Heavier weights for metal plates, i haven't tried softer boards yet though. 62g spring on my brass plate tofu felt too light and doesn't feel too good compared to 68g.
I might buy a keyboard wich is the kbd 65% wooden hotswap I havent seen anyone review it so I would maybe like you reveiw I would be so happy and I think I will get the Ktt halu halo switches *edit you dont have to if you dont want to
Hi! Thanks for watching my video! I really appreciate the support. Unfortunately I can't really afford to get most keyboards In fact I'm lucky to be able to get the keyboards I have as I'm not really sponsored or anything and I appreciate the understanding. However, I can give you my opinions on the keyboard at a glance. I assume you're talking about this one kbdfans.com/collections/65-diy-kit/products/65-wooden-case-hot-swap-diy-kit-with-wrist . If so, I probably wouldn't recommend it myself just because Tray mounts tend to be very stiff. I recommend looking up what Tray mounts are just to kind of get an idea of the feel. Wood cases also tend to sound a bit hollow although there's mods you can do obviously. If I were to recommend an alternative I would probably say get the KBD67 lite R3 or the Bakeneko 65 If you can afford the upgrade. This brings me to my last point. This is all just my opinion and if you really like something you should get it. Don't let people tell you that what you like is wrong. There are benefits to this keyboard. It's mostly price and aesthetics. If you really want a wooden keyboard then this is a very solid option at a very reasonable price and if you're building on a budget there is no shame in that.
