    1. Using pimple patches while on accutane.
    2. Using retinol in a wrong way. Too much, too often, or giving up too early. After that we should use moisturizer. Trying to find a good frequency. It takes months to see the difference.
    3. Using too many skin products.
    Depends on skin type and problem we should choose the right one and stick with that. We should know our skin type. :)
    Too many skin exfoliating can give you irritation. 2-3 a week is fine, but not everyday.

    Yeah....I hate that exfoliating skincare products like scrubs and toners and such say on the bottle that you can use them twice daily. I have oily combo skin and so I picked up an entire line of acne products and used them as directed. I then added on a twice daily scrub on top of that....then I added on the Ordinary's 30% AHA peel....yeah. It was bad. Perioral dermatitis which kept coming back and I ended up treating with tacrolimus ointment....which can lower your immunity locally. I have cold sores and so using that got rid of the perioral dermatitis but then caused cold sores.
    Once all of that was finally mostly recovered, I created a more "normal" skincare routine, but for whatever reason, I am constantly having acne appear everywhere. It's a nice improvement over what was there not too long ago though, so I'm slowly trying to gently treat it. My skin was never sensitive before, but it's a lot more now. Though it's still not too terrible -- I spot treat the acne with salicylic acid once daily, and I've been able to use a gentle AHA/BHA wash off mask 3 times a week without feeling any irritation. I used to think the burning of those meant it was working....nope. If it burns, wash it off XD! That means your skin hasn't recovered enough to apply it again :P.
    Anyways, don't make the mistakes that I did -- listen to your dermatologist or just watch dermatologists' videos on youtube. Don't do what your favorite influencer does, and definitely don't do what the bottle tells you to do. Because the directions on the bottle are a lie :(.

    Thank you Dr. Sugai for sharing 😊 My skincare is very simple for my sensitive skin. My favorites are - the Neutrogena Ultra Gentle creamy cleanser, the Vanicream Moisturizing lotion and SPF 30 sunscreen 🥰 I exfoliate my skin every week with a Konjac sponge, very gentle on sensitive skin. Take care everyone 🌹

    Hi Dr Sugai, if I start to flake from my retinoid, should I back off for a couple days? Sometimes it will happen without any other symptoms, such as wind, burn, sensitivity, or redness it’s just simply the flaking. Otherwise, my skin feels fine. Dr. Sugai, I have Hashimoto's Disease. Very brittle nails, and some eczema flare-ups around back of hands and around my eye lids. Can you recommend some vitamin supplements? I currently use OTC cortisone cream to spot treat, but am wondering if I can do more? I take iron supplement for anemia, Vitamin D3, Fish oil (for dry eyes). I am mainly worried about my nails. Deep nail ridges and have recently experienced one nail coming loose from the nail bed. I did not injure it and it is now growing back. Collagen? Vitamin E? Other? I need help! Also, I'm 59.

    How about something I heard about a few years ago. My friend told me her ex’s mother, diabetic, was scheduled for a leg amputation in 3 days, they kept rubbing 40% zinc cream (baby butt paste) all over it. Went in for operation and doctor said I don’t know what you’re doing but keep it up, no operation. Now I’m diabetic and got that stuff. Got a tiny sore that wasn’t healing and turned into a pimple, put that stuff on it, next day almost totally gone. Also a few times I felt a sore coming on between my toes, rubbed it in, next day gone. Maybe face pimples too??? Bought Target store brand, $2.97.

      @CookieDr007 3 месяца назад

      Absolutely false! Retinoids are KNOWN and documented teratogens and can lead to serious malformations. Pleeeease Google, chat with your OB etc retinoids activate retinoic acid receptors which drive organ development in the body

    • @CookieDr007
      @CookieDr007 3 месяца назад

      This is 💯 False. I'm a molecular biologist and retinoids are a known teratogen and can cause serious developmental abnormalities. Retinoids work by activating retinoic acid receptor driven genes which are master regulators of cell growth and differentiation and are critical for organ development esp the eyes
