I did that yesterday with my windshield wiper blades, the long term test was awesome, I didn't end up going with the winners though cuz the Bosch Icons would have been nearly $50 for both so I went with the rainx ones that were the runner up, $20 difference in price for 2 blades.
@@bdkj3e I had to lookup what I got, and it ended up being the Bosch; didn't even realize they were hat expensive, but I bad some coupons and points that offset my cost.
Just found the first chainsaw showdown video. This is how you do a comparison. No BS right to the point and quickly answers all questions. I love this guy. I’m so sick of watching product comparisons and I gotta see 30 minutes of a guy unboxing his item and talking on and on. Great video!!
Purchased the Echo 8 months ago. I've run chainsaws professionally for many years. Wear and tear on my arm and shoulder when starting had me checking out cordless saws. We've always used commercial grade Sthils and Husqvarna's so I was a bit concerned about the Echo's performance. That said I'm very impressed, runs like a demon, really as good as your tests suggest. No issues after lots of brush clearing and multiple cords of firewood.
I can say this.. as far as Echo, which I have not used. There is always a Home Depot somewhere and Echo's can pay for themselves in one project. You can always resell and buy the latest for next project.
@@ProjectFarm would be great to test SDS Plus and SDS Max hammer drills and demolition hammers - some cheap brands have unbelievable Joule numbers compared to big names...
For a company like Stihl who you naturally associate with Chainsaws. I was surprised to see it so outclassed here. Especially for the price! And that is why I watch your videos! Thanks!
@@JC-uq5gi Should have bought a better Husqvarna then. There is no disputing that Husqvarna has better air filtration than Stihl and better chip clearance on large saws. I like both depending on the saw, but to say that one brand is good and the other is trash is ignorant. Stihlership $$$ policies suck royally as do both of their low level consumer saws.
@Random Stuffs that's definitely not true for the petrol powered stihl saws. Assuming you look after it a little, it always starts in a few pulls even when cold.
And I bet he'll read almost every comment, and responds to a ton of them! That's pretty darn rare for a high subscriber count RUclips channel. Dedicated 👍
I probably started my last comment with this same sentence: 'I can't say enough how helpful these videos are.' They also show that across-the-board brand loyalty is a potential pitfall; X brand might make the best ( a,b,c) tools and Y brand make the worst (a,b,c), but the Y brand of (d,e,f) tools can outperform brand X's (d,e,f) tools by a mile. This fact speaks to the need to explore various options in a scientific and unbiased format in order to pick the best tool for the job whether your eye is toward overall value, maximum performance, or just what to stay away from at all costs! Thanks so much for all you do, Project Farm! You are a hero to people who buy and use tools that they rely on for their lives and livelihoods! Bravo!
Unfortunately, each cordless tool manufacturer has its own proprietary battery/charger, which makes buying the same brand for everything a lot easier than having several incompatible batteries.
@@SumErgoMonstro Makes me wish the US would get on board with the Cordless Alliance System that Metabo is spearheading in Europe. Multiple tool brands, 1 interchangeable universal battery platform.
I enjoyed watching your video. I own 5 acres and decided to go with the WEN to cut down several (15 or so) medium size trees and cut them up into firewood. The WEN responded to every challenge I gave it. It's not commercial grade like some of the others but for $238 for the saw and two batteries, I'm quite pleased. It's a great deal for someone like me who needs to clean up property but doesn't need a full-time saw.
@@SnifferSock Yes, that Stihl is very nicely build but too expensive for a non-professional. For that price it would be nice to have a little more powerful motor, but I guess they wanted to keep the weight down.
@@SnifferSock yeah I really do like Stihl chainsaws. I now have a new Husqvarna that I purchased a couple of years ago and I say it's new because I haven't run but about maybe a gallon of gas through it. The only reason I changed to husky is because the Stihl dealer here in town has really suck service. Where I bought my first Stihl chainsaw and later weed eater at some 40 odd years ago got too old to deal with everything and sold the store and they decided on not carrying outdoor power equipment anymore. I still have that old 028 and an old 031 or 3 2 but they need gas line filter assemblies and they don't make them anymore. I even told the guy look if you'll do this to fix it and he says we don't jerry- rig. Well I was already down pretty bad in health but I'm getting a little better so I just got to get my glasses on, buy me some tubing, any kind of filter that I can attach it to and I will replace my own gas line assemblies I just hope I can still get a carburetor kit. And unfortunately there are manufacturers that will only agree to make parts for their equipment even like washers and dryers, for maybe 10 years some maybe 15 but then again other companies decide to make Parts on for several more years. So go gas and go Stihl and now that I own a Husqvarna go Husqvarna too! I don't guess I'll be switching to Electric for long time. happy cutting to you! And have a wonderful Christmas!
Man, these videos are perfect. Magnificent tests and efficiency of wording. Best reviews I’ve ever seen on RUclips. You’re awesome! Gonna buy that echo. Thanks man! Keep up the good work!
@@ProjectFarm Is there already a sandpaper video? I see the flappy wheel video but not your run of the mill sheets of sandpaper. Love your videos; best product comparison videos on youtube. Thanks for what you do.
Definitely water filters please! Best one for the home, and best for RV usage. Want to be able to take lake or river water and make it drinkable in the van. That way, when self-quaranteening in an RV, people have fresh water with minimal trips to the store to buy water. Thanks for all the videos you do. Excellent resource!!
I have had that Echo for a few years and it is great. Everyone is always amazed at how fast and quiet it is. I do landscaping for a living so it gets a workout
The Echo seems right in that random brand sweet spot where it's half the price of the leading brands but still not ridiculously cheap like the WEN so you know you're buying some engineering/materials without paying for advertising
I have the 58v AEG version which is basically the same as echo I have been running it for about 3 years now and have found that the batteries have expanded a little bit and its become hard to put into the battery slot especially in the lawn mower, apart from that its been awesome.
The one huge advantage I can see with the dewalt is the ability to use their tool line as well.... Echo, not so much. While it was a very good saw, the versatility of the dewalt (while only being slightly behind the echo) seems to be the better value
That's what I was thinking. I am actually not much of a tool user (yes, why do I watch these videos? Because you never know, and they're entertaining), but I'm aware that DeWalt has a ton of electric products and their batteries tend to be interchangeable, at least to an extent (I'm not sure what if any restrictions they might have, presumably some batteries aren't designed to be used with some of their tools). Yet I don't recall the Echo brand. Might have seen something of theirs in an older video, but I can't recall. So, the long term availability of their replacement batteries is suspect IMO.
That's why I went with DeWalt. Already have batteries, chargers, and tools from them. It may not be the best saw but it's pretty close for what I need it for cleaning up hurricane trees in the yard.
Very well done comparison. As a seasoned engineer, if I were to do a comprehensive comparison, this is exactly how I would do it. Your data speaks for itself, and the attentive viewer will draw the same conclusion before you announce it. Excellent job! When my Oregon wears out I can now see I will replace it with an Echo.
@@ProjectFarm I have the same model Ego with the 5AH battery. I just ran it through some white oak on a timer and got 6.6 minutes of run time. It's 0°C outside. This saw made me retire my gas burners unless I'm dropping a "monster" tree.
@@ProjectFarm another great review. I would highly recommend the 18 inch ego over this 14. It has an advertised 11,000 rpm. I have had both and there is just no comparison
I bought the echo, based on your recommendation / test results. Awesome chainsaw. I'm even buying an extra battery for longer stays in the bush. No oil gas bs... low noise. Awesome.
You should have try the Stihl MSA 300, you with be surprise. I have the stihl 220C and 161T I just got the MSA 300 two weeks ago I have only use it for about 4 hours but I can tell you power wise have nothing to do with 220C, it is much powerful.
I have the E-GO with the larger battery, simply amazing saw. Does everything we need. Amazing what battery powered saws can do. Excellent video. We've had the E-GO for couple years, many chains replaced, still works like new.
Thing with the stihl the speed of the charger and the battery being used it many other machines, I have a hedge trimmer and lawnmower that all run on the same battery. I use the stihl for most jobs (from felling small trees, to pruning hedges or coppicing Hazel) and it works well and it's easy to maintain. Other thing to consider is how sharp the chain is etc.
If the stihl cuts slower at higher rpm, the chain is dull or the chain speed is slower. It would be interesting to test with a different chain. But you expect better performance without exchanging it anyways.
@@berndrosgen1713 It seems that the saw is underpowered. The higher chain speed at no load is useless if it slows down under load as much as is seems to in the video.
@@ProjectFarm Thanks for the reply. I was thinking maybe you could test different glues in heat and cold. Not by brand but by type so we know whats best for what application.
I just recently got the 18" EGO that came with a 5 Amp battery, it cuts through trees like butter and is quiet. I took down 6 trees in minutes while creating trails through the forest on my property. I love the EGO lineup because I can swap batteries with the other EGO power tools.
Once you have a few ego tools, you need a few more. Swapping batteries between yard equipment feels like a game changer. Plus you can choose more powerful batteries
@@SL1CEND1CEN I recently bought the EGO snow blower and it came with two 7.5 amp batteries. Now I feel the need to get more tools to make more use of these batteries once the snow is gone. I am watching this video I don't even have any trees in my yard lol.
I use Beamtech from Amazon. I've had 3 sets now and none have had any problems. On the other hand, I paid a lot more for a set of XKGlow LEDs and they never seemed happy in the cold and the fans were very loud.
@@mattholmes8214 i have used BeamTech in all of my vehicles for the last 2 years now. They are fantastic for the price and are super bright. No issues at all.
@@ProjectFarm It would be great if you could include the Metabo WB 18 LTX BL with one of theit LiHD batteries. I have tested mine against a Bosch and a DeWalt and it was more powerful. I feel like the Metabo LiHD batteries are among the most owerful tool batteries.
@@JC-uq5gi Milwaukee makes some really powerful cordless tools. But I'd say the Metabo angle grinder comes really close to the Milwaukees. I own one with 5.5Ah LiHD battery. I have compared it to Ryoby and Bosch and it has far more power. The newest Milwaukee grinder looks suspiciously similar to the Metabo design by the way...
@@christiansprojects-cgmanuf1426 the tool is only half the battle. A lot of cordless tools are majorly lacking in the battery department. Slapping a 9AH+ battery greatly improves the tools.

I bought the Echo because of this video and I’m glad I did! The saw is amazing and the battery life is surprisingly long but for a big project I would recommend getting a extra battery. With 2 batteries the Echo is unstoppable!
I own an Echo, and I’ve always been a Stihl man. When I went looking I was at a dealer who had echo, Stihl, and Husky lines of chainsaws. He said I would be surprised at the Echo but I told him I thought they were a brand more for homeowners, not for a logger type person wanting an equal high quality performer. He then said, try it, you’ll like it. Echo has been making great strives in the world of professional lovers and for the money they’re hard to beat. Long story short, I LOVE IT!!! Thanks for your review.
@@rottiejakeluke there are a few reviews on YT. I called echo yesterday, and they confirmed it wouldn't be released in the US. I have had a lot of stihl stuff but have had to start to replace it all because they have all had reliability issues. I have one that one odd ball saw, a beat up old junker echo chainsaw. @@dennispope8160 I started with the EGO 16", and was just amazed at it's performance. But, when the motor developed a bearing failure, it had to go in for warranty repair. They apparently replaced the motor. After receiving it back it is starting to make the same internal noise as when it first failed. While the 16" saw was in the shop, EGO released the 18" saw, which I immediately purchased. So very glad I did. The 16" is no slouch, but the 18" does have a few features the 16" doesn't. Steel dogs, LED headlamps, and much higher RPM. My saws are used to cut decades old pacific madrone. One of the hardest woods I know of. Prior to going cordless, my main saw was a Stihl 290 which I sold after buying the 16" EGO.

Just bought the EGO 16" 56v 2.5 Ah, cuts through 16" to 14" Ash effortlessly, I get about 12 cuts before a recharge, sharp metal bucking spikes and really comfortable. I love mine.
I just ordered the 1611 from Ace Hardware... same battery, $219. Looking forward to using it. Last Sunday my 19 year old Craftsman caught fire.. needed to use a fire extinguisher...no more gas saws for me. The blessing? I used a fire extinguisher for the first time...that experience might save a life someday
The Granberg file and joint is hands down the best system. Makes every tooth geometry, depth and height identical so the saw cuts fast, straight (uneven cutters will cause it not to) and smoooooooth.
I can personally speak to echo's 5 year warranty. (Parent company is TTI) At the beginning of November I warrantied a broken battery that was 2 weeks away from the 5 year warranty expiration. (home depot emails you receipts makes it very easy to keep track of receipts...). I forwarded the home depot's receipt to TTI's customer service representative and they shipped me a new 2ah battery. They took my word that the old battery was dead and they asked me to dispose of it.

@@laa0fa502 I think he's bringing up the point that if you buy the Stihl or Echo...that's all you get. You'd likely have no other use for the battery or no spare batteries for that tool whereas if you bought the Milwaukee/Makita/DeWalt or even the Ego you might already have outdoor power equipment or tools that can extend the use of the kit.
Yes I only looked at the charts and did not know the size or battery of the ego.. I will say having both the 16 and 18 that the 16 is gathering dust right now.
I went with the Ego because I also have their back pack blower and string weed trimer and the batteries are all interchangeable. I also think the Ego chainsaw wins here for its Price/Performance ratio.
I bought an Ego 18” from Amazon on November 8th. I had to send it back for a replacement. Got the replacement on November 27th. Sending replacement back today for full refund. A cut which should have been 5 seconds took me 20 minutes. Ego customer support is useless if you are within 30 days of your purchase date. Your only option is to return it.
@@Intentionally_Inflammatory Yeah, I 100% guarantee the chain was backwards. My old boss did that once, damn near set the tree on fire before cutting it. Hard to believe you would make it all the way to 2 replacements before looking at your own issues. This test shows that the differences are small amounts of speed, not literally doesn't work vs does.
I bought the EGO 16" a couple of years ago, and I'm pretty happy with it. All my yard tools are EGO, so I have multiple batteries available. The 5ah battery works well for the little cutting I have to do. The 2.5ah battery only ever gets used on the weed whacker.
Have you bought any of the knockoff Ego compatible batteries? If so what was your experience. Ego batteries are near as expensive as the 16" Ego saw itself!
Again thank you for this test! As part of a "gardening" ecosystem of tools, I find the EGO very interesting because we will have multiple batteries with multiple tools, so it will be easy to swap batteries.
I've had my echo going on 4 years I'm glad to see that your video backed up what I knew I would recommend that echo to anyone that wants battery operated chainsaw
Absolutely the best ever comparison. We’ve subscribed and will be watching more of “Project Farm” videos. Thank you so much for all the time you spent creating these comparisons.
Thanks for the superb video. This is one of the few reviews/comparisons that shows real differences between products. You are so thorough and come at it from so many different angles. Other reviewers would look at things superficially, leaving me to discover true shortcomings of the products on my own. You have left no stone unturned. Have a wonderful New Year!
DeWalt is perhaps the most consistently good power tool brand in my experience. I've never been disappointed with one of their tools. Ryobi seems to do really well for the price, and the warranty is impressive. I might just have to buy some battery adapters and mix and match. :)
Agreed, I started getting a lot of DeWalt tools after my dad gave me some of his old stuff and I just started building out my collection on that battery platform. I have yet to be disappointed with any of their tools. They don't always win these comparisons but they're always toward the top.
I would love to see a video about conditioning hard water. Salt based water softener vs salt free water conditioners. I've seen/heard mixed results regarding electronic water descalers as well. Thanks for your hard work!
Very interesting review. I'm a heavy battery chainsaw user and owned the Ego, Dewalt, Echo and today I purchased the Stihl. The Ego and Dewalt are not intended for heavy use and returned them almost immediately. I used the Echo intensively for a little over a year, it's great but had some issues (chain falling off easily) and the motor stopped working - I would say it's more a prosumer model. I have not used the Stihl yet but hopefully I will have it for many years! One missing contender for round 3 is the husqvarna 540i XP!
@@SL1CEND1CEN not necessarily, with additional batteries you can last a long time. They don't smell and are much quieter, gas chainsaws will slowly disappear

Solid solid solid video... one could certainly dive into analysis paralysis with this sort of thing but you kept it moving and got the info on the table. Well done and thank you Sir!
There are other videos on YT where the HF Atlas battery stops on thermal overload while cutting under load. Battery will show 50% charge, but won't function until it cools down. Have no idea if their experiences are typical. Otherwise, the guys in the videos seems to like them. Dunno. I wonder if ProjectFarm experienced any thermal battery issues in his tests thus far...
Only recently found your videos, and I am quickly understanding why you have 2 mil plus subs. No filler all killer. Excellent, informative stuff my man!
A great round-up between this one and the earlier one. Thanks for including the EGO. Although the Echo is amazing, I would opt for either the DeWalt or the EGO simply because I've invested in those battery technologies already around my house. The DW already has a great battery, but with the EGO, I'd buy the bare tool and use my other 5.0 amp hour batteries with the chainsaw. Those are just some additional things to consider besides just performance; things such as battery conformity and what you already own as that will reduce the "entry price" into a new tool. Great job. I love your videos!
totally agree. The echo is better, but the versatility of the dewalt batteries means I have about a dozen 60v batteries to swap in/out as well as two large 4 battery charger. I have other yard tools that are dewalt as well as the normal shop tools. While the echo might be a bit faster, but it would be a large investment for an only slightly better tool.
I realize that markets and prices fluctuate like crazy but including a price comparison of extra batteries(maybe just msrp? Idk..) would also be very helpful. Whenever I upgrade from my little b&d lcs1240, probably going to get the Makita because it nearish the top of the last video and comes with 2 full sets of batteries.
Just bought the 16” EGO and was very impressed with its performance. I do agree that a larger battery would be beneficial. I filled about half a truck bed with firewood before the battery died. I then grabbed my dads 20V dewalt and it had nowhere near the power. After one cut we switched to a gas chainsaw to finish up. The EGO cut better and faster than the gas, but that could’ve been due to a newer chain. Thanks for your review. It made my decision so much easier.
If you're interested in battery-powered tools, you're buying into a whole line of tools and not just the chainsaw. Make sure to compare the whole lineup. (I own the Echo chainsaw and string trimmer; Dewalt hedge trimmer, blower, and drill.)
@@CodeKujo all my cordless tools are Milwaukee. I thought about getting their cordless saw but the performance didn’t really impress me(at least what I saw in various reviews) and it was more expensive. I’m just tired of messing with a gas saw. @@motowipeout5670 Sadly modern fuel goes bad pretty quickly and the ethanol ruins the diaphragm etc in the carb pretty quick too. Most of my professional equipment today is Echo, love it, used to run mostly stihl but prices are silly and the quality dropped.
Doesn't really matter much. Refilling a gas saw takes seconds. 2 minutes if you need to measure oil. For electric it matters because you need to time your 40-90 minute breaks.
@@JC-fj7oo a very good point indeed, but the times would have been nice to see, the Stihl ms 170 is a much better option, when I use a chainsaw it's often a lot longer than a few minutes.
@@williamrutter3619 better is going to completely depend. Obviously if you're a professional logger, you're going to want a gas chainsaw. Or if you happen to own a very large farm, or a small forrest, park ranger... Gas is going to be the right choice. For 99% of people who aren't loggers, an electric chainsaw just makes sense. No pulling no priming no maintenance no storing gas no mixing no ear protection. You don't have to carry a running saw up a ladder, and they're easier to use at odd angles for pruning. And if you watch the end of the video he says that echo should be able to cut 32 times through a fairly thick hardwood tree. If you have an extra battery that's 60 cuts. After cutting 60 logs you're going to want to take a hour off anyway. Eat some food, let the batteries recharge. And get back to work. Or use the time efficiently, use an ax to start limbing and splitting. Plus I don't know if you noticed but the cut times for the echo were actually faster than both the stihl. Gas and electric. But even the Ryobi and the ego which are about the same price as the stihl 170 / 171 did a good job too. And they're still going to be a better choice for most people.
@@JC-fj7oo one tree can be quite considerably large, and they do fall, I live on farm, not large one, a tree can take day's to sort out, 7 mins isn't running through logs isn't going to work, these petrol chainsaws start pretty easy it isn't an issue and the clutch and chain brake stops the chain from moving, a responsible owner or tenant of property needs a good chainsaw, being out of battery isn't an option.
@@williamrutter3619 Apparently you can't read, because I did say that people on farms might want a gas saw. And no a tenant should NEVER be using a chainsaw on the property, they should be calling the landlord and the landlord should be doing it or calling a service to do it. The insurance nightmare of a tenant spending hundreds on a saw and potentially causing thousands in damage or harming/killing someone/themselves to save a couple hundred on a tree service... That's retarded. And I do not use that word lightly. For a truck saw to clear a road or do some basic emergency cuts, electric works better. It's easier to store, it always starts. The gas doesn't go bad. No priming or pulling or standing in the cold trying to fuck with it. Slide the battery on, push the trigger. Put the battery on a charger once a year... Good to go. Also important to mention that the 170 and all of the electric are LIGHT duty saws. They are for homeowners and landscapers to quickly cut down and process a couple trees once in a while. Deal with limbs. Basic homeowner tasks. If you have a forest or a farm and need to cut down larger trees regularly, then you will want a bigger and more powerful saw. Expect to pay 4-500 for a pro tool. But for the 99.99% of the world that has never felled a redwood: The electric is fine. Even wranglerstar had a vid about it. He hates anything new, but he said he mostly reaches for his dewalt now. His wife and kid prefer to use the dewalt. And he has a bunch of other high quality chainsaws and manages a small forest. He got 25 cuts with his test. If you use an axe and pruners for limbing, you should be able to fell and buck a 50' tree on a single charge. And again, the vast majority of people are not qualified to cut down a tree that's more than 50' anyway. And with a spare batt they can do 2 of them. After a couple hours you can come back and do 2 more. If you need to fell more than 4 50ft trees in a day, that's NOT light duty. And you can rent a 20" chainsaw for like $50 for the day. But that's also way outside the scope of what almost all homeowners are doing with their saws. Something that is easier and faster for a shorter period of time, but still plenty to get the job done, is going to be better for most people. It you don't happen to be like most people, woohoo, you're special. Good for you.

Have u tested cordless string trimmers ?
I can say this.. as far as Echo, which I have not used. There is always a Home Depot somewhere and Echo's can pay for themselves in one project. You can always resell and buy the latest for next project.

The only 1 up they might have had is reliability, but a 5 year consumer warranty match that too.
@@JC-uq5gi Should have bought a better Husqvarna then. There is no disputing that Husqvarna has better air filtration than Stihl and better chip clearance on large saws. I probably started my last comment with this same sentence: 'I can't say enough how helpful these videos are.' I sort of agree but at least with a gas Stihl they will last forever if maintained. Hard to say that paying over 2x the cost is worth it tho.

Great feedback on the Echo
The Echo seems right in that random brand sweet spot where it's half the price of the leading brands but still not ridiculously cheap like the WEN so you know you're buying some engineering/materials without paying for advertising
I have the 58v AEG version which is basically the same as echo I have been running it for about 3 years now and have found that the batteries have expanded a little bit and its become hard to put into the battery slot especially in the lawn mower, apart from that its been awesome.
Do you still have it and if so is it still working well?
@IloveBaklava yes, I have all of the tools in the system and use them regularly. Have had 2 batteries give up, but other than that they are great
Project Farm: We're gonna test that.

Yeah, love it when he says that! 😁
The one huge advantage I can see with the dewalt is the ability to use their tool line as well.... Echo, not so much. While it was a very good saw, the versatility of the dewalt (while only being slightly behind the echo) seems to be the better value
Thanks for the feedback.

One of the rare instances were price doesn’t match performance. Thanks for a great video. The Echo and Ego both impressed me.
I think where EGO wins is the ecosystem of compatible products. Nobody else can match that. I have two batteries for like 7 devices! Mower, blower, hedge trimmer, string trimmer, chainsaw, multi head system: currently just the edger!
@@emotionz3 more or less all brands from this video has multi sistems ( one battery - lots of devises who can use that batery)
The Wen has a surprisingly good ecosystem as well. Too bad the performance isn't there.
I have watched nearly every he has put out, and it's not at all a rare instance. Often times you are paying for the name rather than the quality
Typically with chainsaws more expensive = more durable and lighter weight, not necessarily cuts faster.

I love how thorough you are in doing your tests. You've been a tremendous help in my search for quality tools 👍
Thank you! Glad to hear!
Quality... Dewalt is contractor grade stuff... Can't get much better than that...
Dewalt, makita etc have a large catalog of battery powered tools available, and that's probably worth considering / going over in the reviews also. Great vid!
Thanks for the suggestion.
That was in the first video. This is a part 2
@@laa0fa502 I think he's bringing up the point that if you buy the Stihl or Echo...that's all you get. echo 58v to dewalt or makita adapter
Thanks PF, another great review. I'd like to see how the 18" EGO with the 5 or 7.5aH battery would have done.
You are welcome! Thanks for the video idea.

@@rumba215 Sounds like user error.
@@Intentionally_Inflammatory ikr he coulda just sawed it manually with the chainsaw lmao
Thanks for the feedback.
You are welcome! Thanks for sharing.
Loving my Ego trimmer, edger and blower. Awesome to know the chainsaw holds it's own as well!
This guy deserves two subs for every one sub! He does an excellent job, we need more people like project farm!

You are welcome! Happy New Year!
DeWalt is perhaps the most consistently good power tool brand in my experience. I've never been disappointed with one of their tools. Ryobi seems to do really well for the price, and the warranty is impressive. I might just have to buy some battery adapters and mix and match. :)
Thanks for the feedback.
Agreed, I started getting a lot of DeWalt tools after my dad gave me some of his old stuff and I just started building out my collection on that battery platform. I have yet to be disappointed with any of their tools. They don't always win these comparisons but they're always toward the top.
Yeah, I'm impressed. Their 60v series batteries give stuff like a chainsaw a while lot of juice with less heavy guage wire needed.
Great recommendation on the round 3! Thank you
If you are doing heavy use chainsawing, then you should be using gas chainsaws
@@SL1CEND1CEN not necessarily, with additional batteries you can last a long time. They don't smell and are much quieter, gas chainsaws will slowly disappear

With the holidays coming up, you probably figure it’s a good time to clean your carpet. Could you do a test on which carpet shampoo gives the best results?

I suggest using the pink gojo hand cleaner greasy mechanics use. I've seen it remove concrete powder dyes from carpets.

Man, I was hoping to see harbor frieghts saw in this one.... maybe there will be a round 3! Thanks for the videos!!
Thanks for the suggestion.
Why even bother with the Harbor Freight saw when the Echo blew the others out of the water. Good price too.
Convenient, I was watching part 1 earlier today trying to decide what to buy.
Other than depot dropping ego brand I'd suggest looking into that further

Welcome! Thanks!
Thanks and you are welcome! Thanks for the feedback.
totally agree.
The ego saw is a terrible piece of equipment.
@@jamiebiddix4302why do you say that?
@@DADVNTRSI owned it. It wasn't powerful enough or had a long enough battery life to cut a tree down equal to the bar size of 18in.
Echo safety is at least equally a pain to use for righties and lefties.
Great point!
Shouldn't use a chainsaw left handed.
Looks like it would affect productivity. Especially with a gloved hand.
hahahahaha it is good to be fair and equitable right!

Best video on electric cordless chainsaws as it covered all pertinent features in a clear, concise manner. Thank you!!
Thanks and you are welcome!
Great feedback! Thank you
You must have been using either a gas saw under 60 cc or the chain was dull. Any pro saw 60 cc and up will destroy these battery saws.
That’s exactly what I wanted to see! Looks like I’ll be picking up a new Echo saw this week.
Thanks for sharing.
Seem like if it sits for more than a few months, it won’t start.
@@motowipeout5670 Sadly modern fuel goes bad pretty quickly and the ethanol ruins the diaphragm etc in the carb pretty quick too. Most of my professional equipment today is Echo, love it, used to run mostly stihl but prices are silly and the quality dropped.
How long did the Stihl ms 170 cut wood for, before needing to be refilled.
Ego on the 5 Ah battery is the win overall. Not comparing apples with apples here. You literally said it. Thanks for the vid.
