Reckless is such a great album I'll tell you something Keith Scott is one of those underrated guitarists that never got his due. The real guitar players know him
You asked…Fun Fact: My wife and I are in the Bryan Adams’ video for “Somebody” from the Reckless album, which was released in 1984. The video was recorded live at Massy Hall in Toronto. Bonus fun fact. The band played the song twice in a row and the video was recorded on actual film with Panavision motion picture cameras. Great concert, wonderful memories. Still happily married to the same beautiful woman.
Keith Scott is one of the most tasteful guitarists ever. Everything he plays is to compliment the song, never to show off his chops. So under rated in my opinion
The last time I saw, Brian Adams was in an outside amphitheater. His last set he sat in the front of the stage. Did the entire set on an acoustic guitar probably the best concert sequence I’ve seen in my life. I’m 61 years old. Saw my first live show in 1975 age 12.
I first saw bryan back in the 90s during the waking up the neighbours tour and had seen him at MSG for a z100 benefit with Def Leppard Richard Marx and then had seen him with def Lepp during their baseball stadium tour in 2005. I was front row as close to the stage as you could get. Great memories. Not only did I get a phill collen guitar pick that he threw at me, I also happened to see a tour bus where bryan was sitting at the front eating his Chinese food and also signing for fans. He was actually nice enough to take the time to sign his program for me…I have loved his music since I first heard cuts like a knife and this time come out on MTV. Those were the days when music really kicked serious ass 😊. Bryan and def Lepp actually are two of my all time favorites. Thanks for the upload.
BA had finished their electric set at Luna Park (Buenos Aires Argentina 2010). With the acoustic already on, I shouted Summer of 69, he paused, took out the acoustic, put on the electric guitar and Summer of 69 played...un Maestro!!!
Awesome tone on this as well as 0:29 - 0:37 very cool. My fun fact, My 16 year old grandson asked me today If I've ever heard the song JUMP by Van Halen. He also told me that he added the song Free Falin' to his play list so I had him listen to my favorite Tom Petty song Even The Losers
Brian Adams one of my favourite rock singers ,like all his songs the grizzly voice my favourite song ,Summer of 69 written in my beloved Portugal ,that I miss so much ,thanks for the great lesson video, maybe more Adams acoustic to if possible ,for the less rich guitar players 😂😂😂
Fun fact ,I went to the Penrith guitar show Northern England many years ago ,picked a up a Les Paul copy and blasted out on the new Marshall Mode 4 head and cab and quietly told to turn it down by Jim Marshall's son ,it was too loud next to the legend himself Jim Marshall ,also Chris George and his band played there before being a Marshall demonstrator ❤
Yep, an absolute great song, and so harmonically rich. Your tone is spot on for this song - it is gritty. I noticed you tab the actual fret numbers and NOT tab relative to the capo and name the actual pitch chord names regardless of the capo. The solo with 'sus4' chords is very, very clever. Good lesson. My fun fact - yes, I liked Bryan Adams with a great rockin' band but I'm a Tom Petty guy at heart.
I had second row tickets to his concert at the Omni in Atlanta in May 16 of 1987. I had seen REO Spedwagon there the week before on May 9th. My tickets were in a Budweiser envelope (from Turtles Records & Tapes) and lying on my dresser. My mom knowing that I had gone to see REO threw my envelope with BA tickets away. My dad bought replacement tickets. We sat on the very top row of the Omni… it’s like from first to worst!
Bryan Adams rocks, but I always liked Billy Squier just a bit more. Would love for you to teach The Big Beat, Lonely Is The Night, the Stroke, Everybody Wants You, etc!
My fun fact. I ended up on MTV, alas, not with a guitar but with a lightsaber as Obiwan on the day of the premiere of episode 3. Great tutorial as always. It's a lot easier to play with a capo on. Thanks again.
Saw Brian early 90s in Portland Maine ... Mr. Big before Brian.. Too Funny!!! Paul Gilbert with his glo in dark Ibanez... Strange 🤔 However, the women simply melt over Brian songs !!!😊😊😊
Fun fact: my brother and I are in the video There will never be another tonight, alongside about 1000 other people 😂. Filmed after the gig in Sheffield, UK.
My Fun Fact, I love animals, dont own a American made Guitar, (all 7 of them), I only use my one favorite spoon, I see color when I hear power chords, and believe Sasquatch is actually real.
Be careful because Bryan Adams is a diva like Don Henley and will copyright strike your channel if you so even as mention his name!😂 he's supposed to change his name to karen!
Reckless is such a great album

The real guitar players know him
...yes an unsung hero for sure

Wow. Freaking amazing man. And congrats 😁
What an incredible album! I remember when it came out, Run to You was absolutely one of my favorites and still is. Good Times

Always loved the reverb on this tune - gives it a real haunting ghostly vibe 🎸🎛🎶
Agreed! 😎
Fun fact: love Bryan Adams... never seen him live... going to see him in Vegas in March! Also, Reckless is one of the best albums of all time.

Fantastic!
Put a bit of stubble on it. Brilliant 🙂👍
Always one of my favorite artists!
Heat of the night is one of my all time favorite songs. I think Bryan Adams is very underrated.
I'm a huge fan of Bryan Adams as well. He has written so many great songs.
Awesome playing and Lesson-Thanks!
You're very welcome
Righteous lesson. Thanks.
Very welcome!

Got to see Bryan last year on tour in Alberta Canada . Amazing show.

Marty I look forward to your weekly videos and live practicing all the tunes you post.
Great stuff keep in coming.
My band played a lot of Bryan Adam's! Great songs and pretty easy to play! Thanks Marty 🤘
Yeh simplistic but dead in great songs!
Love me some Brian Adams, Run To You!!!
Now that's neat! Cool story 😎🤘
killer song > nice lesson as usual Marty
Thanks! Glad you dug it. 😎🎸

Thanks so much. I totally dig Perty as well. I really love Wild Flowers. That album resonates with my soul. 🙏
Nicely done getting the arpeggio transcribing right. 👍
One of the greatest rock ballads of all time.
good lesson. Thanks great song
He should be in the Hall of Fame. Along with Phill Collins & Rory Gallahger
Hi how are you rock on dude l am learning to play guitar basic power chords you are a perfect guitarist
New appreciation for the song. Thanks man
Great job on the video and thank you for all the stuff you do.

Io amo questa canzone da morire, grazie per questo video👍🏻🎸💯💪🏻
Great song...we did it in our cover band...
Awesome vid mate, and love the Tyson reference. great tone too - cheers 🤙
Great lesson!
You nailed it....thank you
Great tutorial. Which model is that Tele?
Yea I was wondering what brand/model Single coil bridge pickup that is?
Great video. He used a strat in the original recording, right? And Im assuming he was in position 1?
Yeh it sure sounds like a strategy position one! 😎🤘
My fun fact. I ended up on MTV, alas, not with a guitar but with a lightsaber as Obiwan on the day of the premiere of episode 3.
Great tutorial as always. It's a lot easier to play with a capo on. Thanks again.
Great sound! I would love it if you could run down your rig setup on these sessions.
there is a harmony guitar part to that last lead part excellent video thx
Great song! Great job man! What about a lesson with "Heroes" by David Bowie? God Bless you! João Carlos from Brazil!
Great idea
My fun fact is that I have a collection of 117 guitars, and I love the beach boys/surf music in general alongside the 80s hair bands.
My fun fact. I really liked most of the new wave stuff from early MTV. Don't you dare tell anybody! Anyway I was also screaming Halen!
Same here man. You're not alone!!
In relationship to the capo, the tabs are 0-2-0.
Great video!
I love the tone I think it’s better than the recording
Cool video. You should do It’s Only Love by Bryan Adams and Tina Turner. I’ve always liked the guitar work in that song.
Saw Brian early 90s in Portland Maine ... Mr. Big before Brian.. Too Funny!!! Paul Gilbert with his glo in dark Ibanez... Strange 🤔 However, the women simply melt over Brian songs !!!😊😊😊
I always thought this song needed a guitar solo
Fun fact. Discovered The Warning. Best rock band to show up in decades
Ooh what’s the song Brian sang with Tina Turner? I can’t remember the name of it! Great lesson brother
Fun fact: I like to listen to Abba when I'm feeling a little down. Please don't tell anyone, especially not my metal friends.
Lol. There are a lot of closeted Abba fans. 😮
Just don’t lend out your Telecasters 😂 Great sound
Fun fact: my brother and I are in the video There will never be another tonight, alongside about 1000 other people 😂. Filmed after the gig in Sheffield, UK.
I thought bryan adams had a lead guitarist, cant remember his name but he wrote most of the guitar parts, I could be wrong
Keith Scott is the other long time guitarist in Bryan’s band. Jim Vallance is the famed song writing partner behind many of Bryan Adams’ many hits.
what about the bass what tunning will he be in?
Bass just plays the song in the same key. f#minor (A major). The capo allows for the main riff to be played with open strings using block chords
I have a challenge for you Marty:
Source Of Infection
Fun tune!!!
But to play it? 😮
👍
Bran Adam's and a tele = SUB !!
The guitar in Rick Springfield's Jessie's Girl got into guitars as kid
Always did like Brian Adams. I also like Megadeth and Dwight Yoakam.
not sure about that slide note you play on the intro?
It's only played a bit faster to save space on the LP but it was down to E. Namastè.
My Fun Fact, I love animals, dont own a American made Guitar, (all 7 of them), I only use my one favorite spoon, I see color when I hear power chords, and believe Sasquatch is actually real.
its ok WE ALL love BA..
I'm so bad on the guitar someone said to me one time "Can you play 'Far Far Away and Over Hill?"
😂
Love pineapple on my pizza
I do love pineapple on my pizza! Has to have bacon too.
My fun fact: my friend’s older sister dated Keith Scott in the 80’s
Live they used a capo
Yeh I'm pretty sure they would. You can do it with some serious hand stretching without a capo but it's just not as fluid.
Tuning up sounds different, more bass in the tone. My ears hear they tuned up, didn’t use a capo.
I like to be clean shaved
lol
