Keith, you are becoming a big part of keeping the scraping and machine tool reconditioning guild alive and vibrant. Thanks for all you do to promote and carry on the skills.
It was a great class, Keith, thanks so much for hosting us. Thanks to Richard King as well, he and his son Alex did a fantastic job passing on their skills to us. Hoping to see you and Lance again soon for some granite surface plate calibration!
If only I could get as many points per square inch as I say “um”. seriously tho Keith, thanks so much for hosting; it was an awesome experience all the way around!
Glad the class went well. I learned a lot when I was there last year, and know exactly what they are talking about when they speak about the lightbulb going on.
Nice to see some new faces. Glad the course went well, I’ve been following your Instagram feed watching you machine the SE castings for students. Thanks for sharing, good luck with your compound scrape in. All the best Mat
Hope Richard gets to feeling better!! I am sure Elliott enjoyed all the extra company and attention. lol Time and money are for sure setbacks to getting things done!! That is all I need to finish my shop too! lol
Not an easy skill to master but think of this, most skills require a learning period. Bricklaying required a 4 year apprenticeship back in my day. All trades need that time when more experienced journeymen could watch over and guide the learners. Keep up the good work Keith and the good RUclips classes (videos). Greg.
Thinking these times of learning are great it is nice you hold these classes Keith. Nice students and really nice group of people, they are our future young and not so young it is all great. 10:36 in HELLO puppy.
Keith, Can you show us how to measure the squareness of the squares that were scraped? That would be very helpful to me especially if it can be done without another square.
Keith I always love the scraping videos. I enjoyed seeing all the folks that were there for the class. Is it a fair question to ask what it cost to attend a class ? How does a person get on the list to attend one?
I keep telling myself that I will never need to get to that level of precision ... yet I view scraping videos under what seems to be compulsion, like I'm expecting to get dragged into it (kicking and screaming) someday. I'll wind up with the task simply because I'm the only one with a clue on where to start, and I'll know just enough to be dangerous at what I'm doing. I can remember learning to type when in High School, and that point in learning where you know where certain fingers need to go, and they seem to always go somewhere else. I think a lot of that has to do with muscle memory. Practice is the only way to get around that, and I'd bet that the "light coming on" or "the click" happens at that time. Training the brain and the muscles at the same time is where the frustration comes from, because one will always "get it" before the other. Looks like the dog and your "swamp panther" were enjoying the extra company. More attention and a chance to mooch something.
Not really what happened there, he was saying you can in fact buy something like a grizzly and rework it into a top notch machine. Keith Fenner and Stefan G. both have several videos doing exactly that.
Richard posts some of the classes on Ebay if you search Kingway Scraping. You can also find him on facebook. Pricing depends on the class 3 day or 5 day.
Thank you Keith !!
Enjoyed Keith! Thanks for helping keep this skill alive.

Not my cup of tea, but glad you all enjoy it. Always look forward to your videos no matter the subject matter. Still, as always a thumbs up job.

Great what your doing hard to log Richard's brain on to the web site
Like the planer you are going to finish Kieth ....
Hey! The guy at 9:52 looks like Keith's long-lost brother :)
And the phrase "This one day at scrape camp" ........will soon follow high precision machinery.
Haha Keith completely shot down that guy at the 12:34 mark with that grizzly part lol... i was just oh damn....

What does it cost for the class?
Is the cat teaching as well?
What is a ballpark cost for the classes?
