      @@AaronFernandes__ I do it professionally. And it doesn't look fantastic. They didn't even put a tape Iine at the door, the "partial broadcast" look is terrible. You need to throw the flakes until rejection. The prep on the floor was horrible, and they didn't even use a primer before the flake coating. I assume this floor will peel up I'm 2-3 years or even less. Those home depot kits are also hot garbage. Should always hire real professionals.

    The flakes hide small imperfections but they also hide all the small parts you may drop on the floor working on projects!

    As a former professional at doing epoxy floors... its really a job that you will want at least a two or three man crew that does this all the time to do your floor. It's more than what people think it is.
    I have had to cleanup bad mixes and sloppy jobs done by people all the time and it's awful. Always get a professional to do something like this. Unless you are experienced enough to know what you're getting into

He fucked off and worked for someone else as a finisher for $40 an hour. People deserve to be paid for their skill set

    I did this myself on my garage floor. I love it, it came out really good. I however, will never do it again! Once you open up the bag of epoxy, you have about 10-15 minutes before it starts turning into putty and you can’t roll or brush it anymore. It’s better to have at last 2 people doing it.

    As a professional Epoxy installer i have to give this a D+ it looks okay however using the same material you put down before is just not a good idea. Home Depot “epoxy” is not good or long lasting epoxy in any way shape or form. It is a very cheap way to paint a floor though!

    Not gonna lie. It came out a hundred times better. Some people will flame Jose, but the new epoxy looks fine as fuck just do NOT destroy it

    What do I think? I'll tell you what I know from personal experience: that Rust-Oleum garage epoxy is utter garbage. The top clear coat might help you some...but it will lift with hot tires on it, and it will fade in sun, and if you try to get a single gallon of the exact same color, it will not match the two gallon kit. After 10 years my garage floor looks like total crap, and it started looking bad after year 3. I'm going to put some porcelain tile over it all and be done with it.

    Get them a 24 of Modelo next time.

    The epoxy kits from Home Depot suck. The epoxy is a cheap alternative to the real stuff where you first need to aside wash and then etch the concrete before using the epoxy. The stuff you get from home improvement stores peal relatively quickly from the heat from the car tires.

    Get commercial grade epoxy. It might cost a 1000 bucks. It is a home floor, so it will last forever.

    jose should put primer for moisture before rolling the epoxy. cheap insurance so you dont have to do it again. it saves you money and jose the time of coming back to do it again. then again idk where you are. happened to me thats why im saying it

    When u add a clear coat/top coat doesn't it make it slippery when it dries? Or not really if u keep it to 1 medium coat since small rock flakes were added?

    When that wears off, use Spartacotes Polyaspartic and get a big 40lb box of the flake and do a much heavier broadcast of the flake. Those diy kits are okay but they don’t last very long. I tear a handful of those down a year and redo them because they start to deteriorate after a few years. The Polyaspartic will last you 15-20 years. It costs a bit more but is worth it!!

      I just use 100% epoxy until the final coating with a polyurethane. Big box stores material are garbage.

      @@brandocommando4459 I’ve done one epoxy flake floor for my old boss who had a remodeling/ construction company. Me and my buddy just cut his grass for him amongst other hard manual labor but he needed help one day and we did an entire 6 car garage (nice high end garage complex) and everytime I see people doing their own epoxy floor I cringe. We used acid, cleaned the floors like a dinner plate and poured more base layer than I ever thought necessary for any paint job. The floor came out IMMACULATE I’ve never felt so impressed by my own work just because of the pure beauty factor.

    Looks better however the Home Depot stuff doesn’t last long also next time order a 40lb box of flakes from torginal so you can do a full broadcast. Not only will the flake look more even it’ll also make your floor much stronger adding a full layer of flakes. Broadcast until full rejection and the entire floor is covered then scrape the flakes in 3 directions after it’s ready to be scraped!!

    Garage tiles is the way to go. First time you raise a vehicle on that epoxy its gonna stick to the steel wheels on the jack

    FYI for anyone doing epoxy garage floors and throwing flakes. Stop throwing them and get a grass seed spreader. Hand held one and fill it then just walk and turn the handle. It gives you a better spread of flakes and doesn’t have clumped up spots by doing it that way.

    That kit will fail too . I’ve seen it way to many times .. hot tire pick up in 3..2…1 .. you can’t find a legit epoxy system at a big box store

    still did it wrong brother and not even kidding. I made the same mistake my first time. But it still works. The pros dump a whole lot of clippings on top after painting then sweep out the excess when the floor is dry. Leaving every square inch of the floor covered in the pattern
