Angelo owed DiB $250,000 , he suggested whacking him to John because he wasn't showing up for meetings but reality was he owed him big money he also brought it up to Sammy who at first didn't want to do it then he realized all the business he would get if he killed him. Plus that horse farm that Sammy loved so much was DiB's which Sammy got after he was shot. That's how it all went down. Angie owed him lots of money , Sammy wanted his farm and businesses and John didn't really want it done until he realized the money he'd also get plus Angie kept reminding John about DiB not showing up when called for two meetings I believe it was

This is the impression that I get, at that time in the 80’s 90’s John was working for John jr. as an Albanian he couldn’t be made but regardless he got close to that family and they trusted him. They trusted him more than they trusted some other guys around them including Sammy. Yep I agree most people would have taken that deal especially after listening to the tapes of Gotti saying what he said.
