Thanks, but that is all Liberty DeVitto’s groove! I just played it! I never saw any drummer playing this song, play it this way! Except Liberty! Thanks for watching Steve
So you got it through huh? Well good! Cause this is brilliant! Careful now...don't show me to much. YEAH RIGHT... show me all! Thanks 😊! It's Yo world!
Carlyle, I got the video through the RUclips copyright stuff! But I’ve been playing this song for years! But I’m glad you learned something form my playing this one.
@@earldrum first thing, Thanks 😊 for the quick response. That is priceless to me. It shows the real Earl. That and all you share with so many. I recalled you speak of this song on Ask Earl and that were able to get it through. I want to check out the Chicago drummer you recommended also. But you, sir, you never fail to impress and please. Liberty. Haven't heard that name in some time. You are a living library. Thanks for the smiles today and many back to you.

@@aronowaughful hi Joel, nice to meet you! You have been playing drums a long time! I started at 15 years old in 1975. Getting closer to 50 years of drumming everyday! That’s great you are in a band! I play drums at my church, do some recording sessions for friends, and I’ve been in many bands, but I’m happy doing m6 RUclips thing for now. I’m still working full time! Maybe someday I’ll do the band thing again! Thanks for watching!
@@scottmitchell555 I saw Liberty DiVitto teach a class on playing this song at MD FESTIVAL back in the 90s. I put a little of me on it too! But it’s very close!
@@earldrum Very cool man. I would say your rendition is pretty damn close. I've always believed that Liberty DiVitto is one of the most underrated drummers out there. He has a very unique approach to his drum parts. No one else sounds like him.
Yes, Liberty played it with a brush and a stick. I played it for years more of a hi hat groove, but I saw him demonstrate it at a drum clinic where he said all drummers play this one wrong! Then he play it this way! Crazy! Thanks for watching
Here is the video of Liberty explaining it ... I did a little bit of my thing on it, but very close. Hadn’t seen this video in years ... so it was performed from memory this weekend! ruclips.net/video/l7wCkzeI-MI/видео.html
Nice job. My son (drummer) and I (guitarist) were debating how this beat was played...and now we know. Thanks for the video.
I pretty much copied Liberty DeVito’s drum part … thanks for watching

Thanks for watching … no it’s an old 1979 Gretsch drum kit.
Beautiful! I don’t have the brush stick. Can I use normal sticks and just hit the closed hi hat? Sorry, beginner here.
Thanks for watching. I’m sure that would work. I was trying to play it close the original! Thanks!
That was so cool!! It never crossed my mind to play it with a brush. That was very creative! Did Liberty do that too?

Was brushes really used on the actual track?
Patrio … yes! Liberty DeVitto, the original drummer, demonstrates it in a few videos on RUclips.

Did you read circus magazine for the drum tabs?
No, I figure it out by ear and I saw Liberty DeVito play it at a drum clinic. I don’t use drum tabs, but I can read drum charts.
Would you share your musoc sheet please?
Sorry, no sheet music for this one. I play it by ear!
