The only exhausts that are better over stock imo are super sprint sport or eisenmann sport, both give a slightly deeper tone but still keep the original sound including the rasp.
I run the eisenmann sport it’s mega.

I agreed, the E46 M3 is the only car I know that an sports exhaust actually makes it worse.
