I used to spar with a TKD guy up in Idaho, good kicker, back kick, roundhouse, etc. jammed my fingers good. Best way to fight him, grab his leg, and when he went to kick, push him! Sadly, he would say, "punch, don't push," and "can't grab my leg," (but I could and did, I guess it is against the rules in TKD), all I knew, if I grabbed his leg, made it damn hard for him to kick me with it!
@dobsondale there's two variations of that move spinning hook kick, which is extremely effective, and spinning crescent kick, which is what the last kick was and is less effective than the hook kick. i dont think that was a reverse kick, cuz that kick is linear, goes in a straight line towards your opponent, and the crescent and hook are more circular,
@Spanci0k Taekwondo fighters usually wear white gi's with black trim. Karatekas usually wear white gi's with no trim, so these are Kyokushin fighters in this vid, not Taekwondo. You can see at 0:33 that they are also using their hands as well as their legs, and the fighters using head protection are obviously just kids. Only the adults are fighting without headgear.
@Spanci0k I asm not sure that this is Tae Kwon-Do. The sparring style is different. Although there are lots of kicks to the head etc, the footwork and movement is very different to that of Tae Kwon-Do sparring. I must admit, i am no expert on Karate styles (i am a Tae Kwon-Do instructor myself) but this is either old school TKD (which i dont think it is) or a form of Karate most likely kyokushin. The uniforms also point to Karate. TKD use v necks/different crossover jackets.
I have one question? Why have there not been any punches to the face. I have watched many Kyokushin mat\ches and there has been not many punches to face. I take Kempo Karate and we are allowed why not yall.
Dude what the hell this is not Kyokushin-Kan-Karate!!! this is Taekwondo, you see they almost fight just with the legs... and kyokushins does not use protection equipment like helmet, gloves, etc.
