These reactions remind me of the Robin vs RM comments on Robin release. Lots of people were offended by the idea Robin could be as good an RM.
Robin vs RM is kind of a strength floor vs strength ceiling debate
RM, once built, can slot into any team anywhere and be a huge help. However, she's only BiS in break teams right now, and you can't really increase her performance much aside from making sure you can actually break enemies
Robin on the other hand excels if you build and play a team around her. Either in FuA, with Gallagher QpQ or HH, or even Tingyun as batteries she's essentially BiS for everyone except Break. However, without her energy Batteries her performance drops below RM outside FuA imho.
RM is easy pluck and play, Robin is stronger with effort, but weaker as a generalist

@@sandeepinuganti8791no she isn’t Ruan mei was that one character who elevated my account completely can’t say the same for robin with equal investment, mind you i have and use every single harmony 5*. Robins only noticeable advantage was in fua teams where as ruan mei feels busted in every team. When she was released she was praised for her versatility now y’all are saying she’s only good for break teams be fr right now she gives literally every buff except atk until her e2 while robins buffs are pretty restrictive. This is from experience trying multiple teams
I love the interaction we have with you EOD, even with all the differences in opinion on Feixiao and Acheron, the community feels pretty close when we are all discussing it. You help give us a voice.
Love the postive nature, and how this guy will listen to all the comments, and have a civilised, thought provoking, deep, and interesting discussion. Overall really good energy to have. I feel like when starting the game, for me personally, as someone who started like 5-7 months ago, acheron made clearing early-mid game content pretty easy, (especially her technique making quests and sim-universe go a lot faster) but then again, at that time, characters like Pela, Ghallager and Gui were easily available, whereas, someone like Feixiao is a lot harder to optimise to the point where she can deal reliable damage, whereas acheron can cover most areas, even without a very high investment team, and help you through most content until you can decide where you want to go with your units, especially since Acheron doesn't really have high demand for a harmony, so you can mostly invest in other units. Then again, I pulled e0s1 Jiaoqiu, (since I personally enjoy Acheron, and feel that Jiaoqiu may come later on, since he's pretty recent, and usually a character is still good until their first rerun, and second, Jiaoqiu being released now, means that Acheron is likely a unit that hoyo still wants to keep relavent for a little bit)
People are annoying. While they argue about their character being better than the other, I will enjoy playing with them both. Feixiao is going to be so fun to play with.

It is not wrong to think that if feixiao get another bis teammate in the future, the same thing could also happen to acheron. Fei could get another topaz, while acheron could be benefited from every nihility that has yet to come. Only time will tell.
I feel both have already reached a point where it’s really hard to powercreep any teammate of theirs without a unit being turbo niche, in which it becomes hard to sell said unit. Acheron has the most dedicated support in history in JQ while Fei fills a niche that is insanely complimented by Robin and their synergy is up there with RM and FF.
Currently this synergy is so strong that Fei can 0 cycle the fattest enemy in the game, Hoolay, with only her and Robin being the 5 stars and no eidolons or limited LCs (so 2 cost clear), a feat only exclusive to her at the moment.

@@Radiant450 I see your point but it is too early to said that in this 2.x. Hoyo will create problem to sell solution. You wouldnt know what might happen in future version. For example in Genshin, they release Furina shift the meta back into healer who has been out of meta for a while. Who knows that sometime in the future the same could happen to hsr, to make the old char usable again (jingliu, danhil, etc). So if we talk about future value as said in the video, it is all about subjectivity and tbh the scope for discussion still to limited.
Acheron team still uses a 4* Character with a 4* Light Cone : "Sweaty Pela"
That is her margin of progression, although it is hard to imagine a 5* with LC doing a lot more that what Pela provides already !
Then, Acheron E0 is not tied by any mean to 2 Nihility : even a good Support could take the spot alongside Jiaoqiu (and "Poised to Bloom" light cone could even help with that)
Likewise though, Acheron has some pretty strong options and it takes someone niche like Jiaoqiu to replace one of her team members, whereas FUA characters have been released consistently since launch so regardless of how strong Fei’s current BIS team is, it’s pretty reliable that she will periodically see a big upgrade in one of her team slots. (Tbf as dps it’s likely fei and Acheron are both getting powercrept faster than teammates like aventurine, topaz, robin, Jiaoqiu who still have a lot of room to grow but strictly between them 2, Fei is likely to get a steadier stream of teammate options unless FUA gets paused like DOT releases were for a while)
With Fei being more team damage oriented and Acheron being hypercarry, needing different features in ideal teammates, it really is apples and oranges between them. I don’t think either is strictly better than the other, and I think both have lots of future potential (although I think both will be waiting a while - I can’t see a second Jiaoqiu-level nihility with suitable Acheron stack gen being released anytime soon nor a Sparkle upgrade for hypercarries nor a more FUA synergistic harmony than Robin nor another Topaz style buffer following 2 budget Topaz back to back)
I just don't understand why the game developers force certain meta DPS characters above others,i like Jingliu as an character, why must my loved character have wasted perks and traces? While Acheron's small and big traces help out her a lot and don't have an SINGLE wasted one, Jingliu has %10 Max hp as one of her minor traces which does ABSOLUTELY nothing for her as an DPS, and her big traces are not even compareable to Acheron's. The game devs are forcing one character to have perfect minor and big traces (Also higher base attack and higher signature light cone attack) while your liked characters are destined to have obstacles and limitations on its path. I am not against power creep however i am against my character not being able to show its full potential before it gets power crept. I just hate the idea of "You must pick this character if you want an proper DPS" Like let me pick whoever the hell i want, and give them proper traces aswell.

21:29 nice of you to mention this because basically all of my team comps make good use of sub dps to make the most out of my main dps
Boothill + Himeko/Serval/relevant type erudition breaker so he can dish out his damage properly and be more efficient about which enemy he needs to weakness implant.
Firefly + Gallagher (and Harmony MC if we’re lucky) has the similar thing but dual-purpose sustain + SP generator that has the speed and toughness damage to keep Firefly from being too limited by her time constraints.
Jing Yuan + Topaz & Aventurine, my main team. I love how these two debuffing sub dps really help to funnel Jing Yuan’s AoE damage to boss or elite units, and also cover for the shortcomings of their personal single target damage. With Robin especially, this team feels much more than the sum of its parts 🥰🥰🥰
Hypercarry Dan Heng IL is probably the only team comp I have where it’s not very viable to have a sub dps so it’s just desserts that I lose my 50/50 on Sparkle to be left with a Feixiao guarantee for my FUA main dps roster 😂
I'm absolutely pulling for Feixiao.
My Acheron (E0S1) team also got Jiaoqiu now so that team is absolutely set for the moment, yet my Topaz (E0S1) and Aventurine await for the foxy general.
Besides, my only wind units are Black Swan and Huohuo so I need a wind DPS.
I have acheron E1S1.
I wanted Feixiao but i dont have Topaz. I have Aventurine tho.
I wanted Lingsha too because i have Firefly E1S1.
But Topaz rerun with Lingsha 😭

Firefly works fine with Gallagher. Lingsha is an upgrade but Gallagher (E4+) works just fine.
For Feixiao, if you have Robin too, Aventurine Robin Feixiao are decent comp as MarchHunt/Moze can be used instead of Topaz for the time.
But Imho I’d prioritize Acheron E2, team flexibility and gaining more stack is amazing.

I am just waiting for calculations after Feixiao's release. I like design of Feixiao much more than Acheron's, I like Numby's treasure search, I like follow-up meta, but I don't like Aventurine. And I am convinced that pulling for both E0S0 worse than choosing one of them E0S1 and building team around the one
I really would like to have Feixiao but I'm so torn between her and Robin.
I have Acheron and Firefly who I've recently started to actually build teams around them, and I realise that I don't have the supports that I need for them. On top of that, I do want the premium characters for the typical Ratio team (which includes all three 5* I don't have lmao).
So now...I guess I could wait for Feixiao's rerun...and go for Robin, and save up for Aventurine and Ruan Mei (while waiting for Sunday, if he's even going to be playable) since with the new triple rerun systems, it's going to be even more difficult to get the rerun character in the future with limited pulls 😅
If we had to compare briefly, Feixiao would be the Hunt version of Acheron, especially since her single target damage is also very strong
As a new player that started playing in the phase 2 of 2.3, I will still pull for Feixiao (also Robin) even though I don’t have aven. Feixiao will still be good with robin and I have pulled Yunli for pure fiction so it’s ok. Acheron just got her banner recently so I can still wait for her rerun.
Anyways I’ll just pull for supports for my 2nd team and for Acheron, save for eidolons on Acheron, and be on the look out on the high seas for any emanators(reminds me of Archons) who also happen to be Hi3 Expys to commit as the 2nd eternal DPS.
Please mihoyo, 3-mode (MoC,PF,AS) DPSs like Elysia or god forbid Himeko Alter and my account will no longer be pulling for anymore new DPSs and just instead for supports and eidolons.
I feel like some other dps gonna replace my firefly first (even yunli is doing better in current moc than firefly and works in pure fiction unlike her like what). Yunli took 2 cycles for kafka while firefly barely 4 cycled what the hell. Both at e0s0 and best team btw

I kinda need a 2.5 banner pull value video rn, I love feixiao but I've been waiting for premium FUA banners (I have guaranteed on the character banner, planning to pull for robin, and also topaz's lc just for the extra debuff, which is the core in this team with ratio). But at the same time I think that Feixiao is amazing..
This video was actually very helpful in making me decide. I am a free to play but I Love Acheron so I got her to E1 S1 the first time she came out. All of the comments about E2 Makes it an easy choice since I already have so much investment into acheron.

I genuinely don't understand how Acheron is still considered tier 0. My Acheron has only 2 bad substats but she's doing worse than Clara in MoC, almost 4 cycles. That's enough cycles to the point where if the enemies deal lots of damage like the Penacony boss trio, one of your characters will die unless you're using Aventurine or maybe Luocha but he doesn't have any synergy with Acheron.
Meanwhile my Firefly always gets 0 cycles regardless of weakness.
As a new/low spender with ache e0s1, i would actually prefered her, since i use her in 2nd half pf, and, i know that we have dedicated characters for different game mods, but i still lack some characters (lost on banners) and she just saves my day. I will still pull on fei just because i like her and can afford it (i have her bis team) but acheron seems a lil bit more universal for me

Great reactions to the comments, I don't see that enough from some creators :) To me, I am continuing to pull Acheron: I am an older player, battle pass + sub for a while but not currently, and i've managed to get well-built characters for multiple different types of teams. The flexability that she offers does not help me as much as it would a newer player.
Acheron has one major benefit that insulates her from powercreep: Her ability to just delete mobs from the map and skip all non-bosses. :) I'm never giving that up, to me that's worth going for E1 with my gems over an E0 Feixiao.
For non-map content, the reason I'm not pulling for Fei is actually the BECAUSE she's a DPS. I do honestly think she will be stronger than a similar-eidolon Acheron, but what about the next DPS? Or the one after that? It's BECAUSE powercreep happens so easily for DPS characters that i'm holding off. I will wait for 2-3 more DPS releases down the line before I even consider it. It's too soon and Acheron still performs admirably in all content. By the time she doesn't, I suspect a new character that embarrasses even Feixiao will be released. And then i'll roll on the one after that. :)
Hoyo isn't going to stop releasing good-looking characters with amazing animations any time soon.
22:39 My understanding the commenter is saying there is no equivalent to Acheron for followup team until FeiXiao joins. Then, Firefly also came in for Break team with her ability to weakness implant and deal toughness damage to other elements.
Personally, I already have Acheron E0S1 and enjoyed my time with her, so pulling FeiXiao is a luxury. In fact, I am skipping JiaoQiu and Sparkle (gasp) just to play her, because since starting the game, I decided I am okay with not 100% all endgame modes if I don't have the time. Missing the extra jades sucks, but overall I am enjoying the game as is.
Imagine if they bring out an endgame event in which you can only use specific paths, that's why having them both is always a good idea 😊
2.5 is gonna be rough for my low spending ass. The only 5 stars I have are Firefly, Ruan Mei, Fu Xuan, Ratio, and Welt, so my team building is quite limited outside of my break team. Kafka is the whole damn reason I started playing this game and i really like Black Swan as well, but I find myself unable to even get a star in a lot of these endgame modes that require multiple teams with what ive got now. So I wonder if I should go for Robin first so I can actually clear content instead of investing in DoT (which everyone tells me struggles). Usually I'd just pick my favorite characters, but it's been rough watching all these jades pass me by because im missing the sauce.
I'm just waiting until Feixao's release when minmaxers test how fast her ult will recharge... one thing that hooks me in playing is their ult animation and both Fexiao's and Acheron's ult are majestic so if Fexiao's ult regens as fast or faster than acheron's then its alrdy an absolute win
As long as Fei has the endgame modes buffs for her, she'll outperfom Acheron.

The current MOC cycle seems to be great for Jingliu.
I think Brad was trying to say that Fei Xiao is the catalyst for FuA (which I disagree with) In the same way Acheron is for Hypercarry and Firefly for Super Break. I think Fei Xiao is a good pivot point for accounts in certain positions, e.g. lacking a Wind DPS, Core FuA Carries, Strong ST focused and relevant DPS for ApocShadow. Overall I think Acheron is better than Fei Xiao but that's purely because her kit was made to be incredibly universal (which they will nerf with new enemies) however Fei Xiao having less glaring strengths in her kit while still having a bunch of flexibility makes her a dark horse, she may survive for much longer just due to the fact of how her follow up and ult works despite being a Hunt character, this is why I am pulling her tbh

As a new player i appreciate the insights about the new characters, very useful to make good decisions.
I've already decided to pull for both Feixiao and Robin as my first 2 promotional characters. What im not sure is if its worth it to go for one of their light cones or just save for the future. Maybe i'll be unlucky with my pulls and won't have to worry about it at all :)
I recommend robins as unless you have the 2.2 limited event lightcone she doesn’t have a lot of great 4 star light cone options where as fei xiao has some great f2p or 4 star options!
Don't forget to save some for Aventurine (v2.6 maybe ?)
Super strong sustains are rare but very much needed for when you will want to tackle the harder content. So, when they come around, it is better to not skip them.
I have made that mistake on Aventurine release (and missed FuXuan 50-50) and now, i can only wait for his rerun before i can do some higher level modes (my poor March 7th can not keep up !)
just a few tips i would recommend support over any dps, yes that include for the lc except for character like Acheron because her lc make her kit work better but in general i would not and cant recommend anybody to pull lc over a new characther
if u miss the dps character banner u dont have to wait long for a new dps character that can compete with that old best dps character and if u miss the best support character u have to wait for awhile for any new support character that can compete for example ruan mei (1.6) and after robin (2.2) that can compete with ruan mei and she still gonna get used in the future.

But from the first video, I got that Acheron it's a very good char, if you invested enough in her team. feixiao it's more accessible for all players, even she might not perform that well. So me, as a f2p player, going to pull for her. Thx for the work doing this video anyways.

I have 180 tickets right now… should i just invest in one character or try to get multiple? Cuz my account is basically only a year old. I have 5* Firefly, Ruen Mei, Bronya. Thats it. I feel my teams are very limited due to elements i dont have much for like ,electric or wind. So i was thinking of getting Kafka and Fuexein. Kafka doesn’t really need her sig,but u kinda need black swan to play her best,either way dot isn’t in a good spot rn and feixiao does rely heavily on robin.i would suggest getting robin she’s just that good and see from there because she can be played in both team and doesn’t need her sig

@@Winland88 talking about what coming on 3.X , its leaked that its gonna be an on field summon, they can independently cast skills and be attacked by enemies. It's basically the trash can mechanic on the event.
The thing with me is i can already comfortably clear Pure Fiction, but i havent even 3-starred Apocalyptic Shadow. Im pulling for Feixiao for her proficiency in single target dmg, not her perceived lack of multi-target. I dont think anyone in the world is pulling her for Pure Fiction, yknow? So i dont understand why ppl are hating on her for being Hunt lol

hihi i have a question for yall! i rolled for jiaoqiu for my future acheron (i don’t have her yet lol) but i think he works w DOT too right? i am only TL 55 so i can’t rly full clear the end game modes rn and want to know if DOT is worth investing in for a new-ish player like me since BS and Kafka are rerunning. my first half is firefly, hmc, rm, galla and second half is yunli, jade, sparkle, huohuo (i do plan to roll for Robin!) as firefly is an amazing DPS but when the enemy can’t be broken it sucks so bad. thank u in advance
Dot is in a funny position at the moment because tho they're still good, enemies this day have more hp. They're not bad, but may or may not be enough, it all comes down to whether you like the playstyle or not. As for jiaoqiu, you can use him in dot team but note that he's not BiS in dot team without e2because his multiplier is too low at e0

Getting acheron will help you get the second side of pure fiction.
And one side of moc + acheron is better value.
Since you don't have any of these dot chars, I recommend skipping all that and going acheron, since you already have jioqiu .

the only good dps i have is firefly, the rest are pretty mild in comparison. im sure robin is good with my clara or xueyi but im not gonna risk missing a great wind DPS for a harmony and i aint gonna wait 6+ months for a rerun.
if hoyo ever powercreep enemy by giving them immune to debuff or infinite toughness then i think theyre just desperate at that point for people to try out their new toy. no way theyre gonna slaughter a set team just because theyre good. its a PVE game.

People in the internet only have 2 opinions: Best character in the game or dogshit. There's no in-between, so people fail to understand that in this game, as long as the characters can beat the content comfortably, there's no point in being better or the best. Boothill is not the best DPS in any way, but he gets shit done. Same with Acheron, Firefly, Feixiao, Black Swan, and whatever DPS that can achieve these feats. The only complain has to be with old units that are slowly struggling to beat content like Jingliu and Dan Heng (Dan Heng E2 saves the day, tho), but with new units? People complain too much. Jade also gets shit done even though people talk shit about her, idk.
The biggest problem in this game imo is that Hoyoverse is struggling to design some archtypes. Right now if it's not AoE with good single target damage, people freak out and start calling them trash because they're not as universal as Destruction characters anymore. And that's because Destruction characters (and Acheron) are so powerful compared to the other archtypes that they make those seem bad even tho they still get shit done easily. Just not as easily, but still. Hunt characters seem to be in a very bad spot design wise because they're afraid of making a character that has the capability to oneshot stuff single target and move 3-4 times per cycle like Firefly does (which would fit The Hunt characters better). Idk, since I can beat all content easily, I just pull for what I like and stomp with it.

i have Acheron with her LC and my final ult damage is around 400-500K outside SIM U, so Feixiao is a easy skip for me, gonna get Robin instead

I have Robin and Topaz, plus I'm getting Feixiao. However, as a waifu collector, it really sucks that Aventurine seems to be the most integral member of the FUA team, being the only sustain with FUA mechanics, since I'm never gonna pull for him. Here's hoping we get a female FUA sustain sooner rather than later.
Im pretty sure Lingsha's summon also counts as a FUA so she may be an option for you. Although you would slightly lose out in damage from Aventurine's ult debuff

Regardless of damage numbers Acheron is higher value than any unit in the game simply for 1 reason; mint picking. Remains to be seen how effective Feixiao is at it since her technique does seem like it can clear overworld very fast but it doesn't look like it's better than or even on par with Acheron. Below I will share some numbers;
So I would like to preface this with a disclaimer, I haven't missed a day of mint picking since Acheron's release, it might sound pretty hardcore but full clearing the map takes 30-50 minutes at most depending on how far you are willing to go for technique barrels, so it really isn't that hardcore, before Acheron's release I did a full mint picking run to see how long it would normally take and it was something like almost 3 hours, my opinion not very practical to do. Combine that with the fact that you must use at least 2 competent units during the run that would normally already be levelled up, making the run less efficient overall.
TLDR: A LOT OF VALUE (100 days worth of stamina recovery saved)
Acheron has been out for 169 Days at the time of this writing.
Full clear run will yield around 80k~ credits, give or take there's a bit of RNG involved here (80k is a fairly low estimate, normally you should get more)
In terms of EXP it will yield around 140k-150k exp per character. (it's slightly more now because of the new area that is fairly packed with enemies but when I logged this data into the spreadsheets it wasn't out yet) - this is also subject to a bit of RNG.
In a run you should be using 3 characters that gain exp since you don't enter combat and don't even need to build them, so whatever exp you see multiply it by 3.
I will use my own situation since I didn't miss a day;
EXP gained = 70,980,000 ((169 * 140000)*3)
Credits saved = 7,098,000 (exp from mobs don't cost credits, using exp books 10% of the exp value is the cost in credits)
Credits gained = 13,520,000 (169 * 80000) + Credits saved = 20,618,000 effective credits
(You do not need to buy materials to craft trick snacks, I never needed to; just alternate between trick snacks and punitive energy, the recipe for punitive energy you can get from an NPC in Belebog, you may need to do the occasional 50 minute run as you will get far more materials from the grind to craft trick snacks/punitive energy than you spend during the run to balance out the consumption)
Now let's look at the total stamina (trailblaze power) saved
Credits: 10 stamina = 24500 credits (assuming level 70)
Exp: 10 stamina = 45000 exp
Stamina Saved (EXP): 15,770 ((70,980,000 / 45000 = 1577 runs~) * 10 stamina = 15,770)
Stamina Saved (Credits): 8420 ((20,618,000 / 24500 = 842 runs~) * 10 stamina = 8420)
Total Stamina saved: 24190 which is equivalent to 2419 hours of stamina recovery or just over 100 days. (this is about 140~ stamina saved every day or slightly more stamina than doing 2 refreshes, every single day)
I would like to point out that these calculations are done using the LOW estimates, realistically it's a lot more when compounded over such a long period of time.
That is 24190 stamina you now can spend elsewhere instead of exp or credits, like grinding relics/trace upgrade materials, providing you with better relics/characters than other people for the same amount of time spent playing the game. By mint picking you literally never need to do golden calyxes ever, outside of maybe the lightcone one if you run out and level up more than 3 every patch, you get enough for roughly 3 assuming you buy the premium battle pass and whale enough to get every character/5 star lightcone like I am, but regardless you should get enough for at least 2 lightcones if you don't whale at all.
All of this gain for a mere average of about 40~ minutes spent spamming Acheron's technique every day. This is something no other character provides. I suppose if you're not interested in building every unit eventually, this value doesn't actually exist for you. But for people like me that just want to collect and upgrade everything, Acheron's value is immeasurable and would straight up be almost impossible without max refreshing every day. So for me, spending money on Acheron actually saved me money in long term not doing as many refreshes, probably more money saved than I spent getting the character already, since in order to be where I am I would have to do 2 extra refreshes every day to compensate which if you convert that into jades over 169 days it would add up to boat loads.

I have been doing this but essentially with XP farming in mind : for every clear, saves about 30 Trailblaze Power per Character under Level 80.
This alone justifies pulling Acheron for anyone wanting to build his roster imo
I think people aren't thinking about how Feixiao can literally ult 2x back to back effectively making her ult dmg the combined total of 2. Ppl are usually only looking at the dmg of just one instead of combined... Her single target dmg is easily comparable at that point. The worst thing they did with her is nerf speed which is a big deal for hunt units to overcome their biggest obstacle. Having other units generate stacks helps a lot with this(similar to Acheron) and she can have them do it pretty fast with the right comp. She might be a bit more difficult to play in nature but I think she's definitely pretty comparable to Acheron both in dmg and viability.
Feixiao already has her bis FUA focused team: robin, aventurine, and topaz. Acheron on the other hand only has JQ as a dedicated support. Imagine having a harmony and an abundance/preservation that can consistently apply debuffs on enemies.
Isn't S1 Aventurine has consistent debuff. He can already apply 1-3 debuff per turns, as in between his turn and his next turn.

Harmony applying debuffs would be silly since why tf would you run a nihility debuffer now? Thats just powercreep for those kinds of characters.
I say Acheron has hit her ceiling too or about to, aven S1 is as good as it can get for sustain debuffing and JQ is as good is it can fir a dedicated Nihility and i dont think they will make a harmony unit around her since E0 they try to push you to play her no harmony
