Heavy Rains On The Homestead

Hi guys! It was a very rainy night here on the Homestead. Mike went out to let the chickens out and I think they were trying to learn how to swim. Come along and see just how much rain we got.

Its a rainy day here today, and not as cold as it has been. Today is about 40 degrees. It's supposed to go into the 60s next week. Most of the snow has melted. I'm hoping for more snow before spring starts. Lol I'm wondering if the groundhog will say spring is coming early. Lol

I've never owned chicken, but when the ground is that wet, do you put extra straw down in their pens so that they have a dryer place to walk on?

No we don't, the water soaks back into the ground and putting straw down will cause moled so we let it dry out naturally.
