  • Do you ever wonder why your 360 camera makes your helmet look funny? This video shows the best way I have found to eliminate the stitch line from your helmet.

    Great video, I'm going through this mounting dilemma now. Snag risk is a big concern, not to mention the huge load on the mount support, specially if you have a hard opening (risk of losing the camera). Another issue is that I often switch from wingsuit to freeflying. Not sure how the mount will handle the strong vertical winds.

      I have taken this helmet and mounting set up free flying with no issue as long as the thumb screws and bolts are secure. I like this helmet specifically because of the ejecting chinstrap safety precaution for snag hazards. It is always a risk and has to be taken very seriously. Always practice your emergency procedures.

      It’s a topic I’ve been very interested in for the last decade. As a veteran GoPro user and Skydiver of the last 10 years I’ve been weighing the pros and determining the best 360 solution for skydiving. Let me know if you would be interested in me making a video for this.

      @@TG_Shreds sure, it would be great to see your skydive camera mount ideas. I just started skydiving again after a 7 year layoff (started in 2000). Things changed a bit, specially on the wingsuit technology, I was really surprised to see how my X3 is now a museum piece . 😆

    Hello, I recently completed 200 jumps and I'm wondering what camera to get and where to mount it. I need to get my face in instead of just the horizon, so would you suggest getting two cameras or how to set them up? Please help

    • @TG_Shreds
      @TG_Shreds  7 месяцев назад +1

      congrats on 200 jumps! I would suggest considering a GoPro Max (360 camera) it would enable you to film in every direction allowing you to reframe the shot afterwards to achieve any camera angle like looking back at your face along with out in front of you looking at the horizon. You can re-frame the shot as many times as you like using whatever angle you like. It makes for ultimate flexibility eliminating the need to get the camera mounted specifically for one camera angle. I would suggest looking into PEG mounts linked in the description to help get the camera out in front of your helmet if you are wanting to capture your face. You could also get two cameras (one forward and one backward) but then you are a little more limited to what the cameras will capture. Some people like this, some people do not. Hopefully this helps answer your question. Please don't hesitate to be more specific and let me know if you have any more detailed follow up questions

    how do you place that base mount on the helmet? Only stick or you screw it on?

    • @TG_Shreds
      @TG_Shreds  Месяц назад

      @@flavezilla6927 it’s important to only stick the amount using the included adhesive. The adhesive is plenty strong and actually creates a chemical bond to whatever it sticks to… I would highly suggest not screwing the mount in in the case of an emergency you actually do want the mount to release

    Hello. Great stuff. Can u recommend a preferable way 2 attach 2 a motorcycle Helmut? I always wanna record 2 deter road incidents on a neutral level. Ty.

      I would suggest mounting the camera by your chin on the motorcycle helmet. It is discrete and out-of-the-way are use the adhesive sticky mount on your helmet. I should make video showing this.

    How long should the narwhal mount be do You think if You wanna be able to tilt it forwards or backwards (depending on preferred angle). Mostly for skiing..

    • @TG_Shreds
      @TG_Shreds  Год назад +1

      The length of the Norwall is totally up to you in your application. It kind of depends on how much of the top of your head. Do you want to see you as opposed to your face/the front of your body. Experimentation is key. If you have the ability to take a run and switch your camera angle/narwhal length on the chairlift, I would suggest it to get to know what each camera angle looks like

      @@TG_Shreds Thanx! It makes sense. Should probably measure the helmet and make sure it sticks well out the back if I place the footprint/ Mount at the front of the helmet. If its on top it might be more balanced regardless which way I direct the stick. Thanx again 👌🏻
