Awesome video. Along with all your others. Looking at getting into making my own baits. Can you do a video on how you built your drying turner and what you use to hang the baits on it. I have learned so much from your videos and keep referencing them for stuff I need to buy.

Do you know about the Federal Excise Tax (about 10%) for fishing equipment and lures, in addition to regular sales tax? Best of luck in your venture!

Cody, I received a notification that you replied to me earlier post, but do not see it here.
What I meant is, Federal law requires the manufacturer of fishing equipment (including fishing lures) to collect a 10% Excise Tax, in addition to any Sales Tax.
So you need to calculate your cost in making the lure, Packaging, Profit you hope to make, Excise Tax, Sales Tax, and possibly Shipping (if included in the price), to determine the sales price of a lure.
You will also need to know how often the Excise tax is supposed to be paid to the Government; monthly, quarterly, annually, etc...
I do know the answers because I am just a hobbyist and don't sell lures, but I've heard other lure makers mention this Excise Tax. Please do some research if this is something you're not aware of.
And, I hope your business venture does very well for you!
