      Hi, did the dark sound of the BB15 get taken into consideration when making this? As good as the 15 was, it was let down badly by its clean sounds and demos of the 30R seem dark too...

    I've had mine about a month now and I can tell you this is the absolutely best amp I've ever owned. the tone is just amazing I hate putting any pedals in front of it because the tone is so good you just don't want to Jack with it. The overdrive / distortion is just simply beautiful. This amp can do it all everything. I play in a cover band that plays a lot of Stevie Ray Vaughan Jimi Hendrix all sorts of 80's and 90's pop and rock. this amp will cover anything you want to do including that awesome Stevie Ray Vaughan tone you have been looking for.

    I have both the bassbreaker 30r and the bassbreaker 45 with the extension cabinet. If you're going to buy one get the 30r. This amp is nothing short of amazing. now I will say the high-gain channel has a lot of hiss and buzz so you will need a gate or a noise reducer. I have the rocktron hush so it's not a big deal. you can get any sound you want out of this amp from Stevie Ray Vaughan ...blues ...metal... 80s rock.... beautiful clean... Country....you name it this app will do it and oh my God it is as loud as the bassbreaker 45. If you've been looking for that good tube distortion you know that good creamy sound.... This is the amp. I probably would have paid twice as much after playing it.

    I call my Bassbreaker "my Hummer". More noises than a freaking old jalopy. When I replaced the Tubes, I found loose screws in the cabinet. I never did find empty screw holes. • @kaschbowman
      @kaschbowman 5 лет назад

      @@jaygiordano9489 To each their own. The benefit w this amp is the touch sensitivity. Depending on what you're playing I get your point. To my ear at least when it's a band setting w drums and bass it just seems the lush spring tank tone benefit gets lost. Or, rather for the money and weight of hauling it around is a non benefit. I am partial to delay pedals. Feel that they give that full round sound w out the challenge of getting that exact right spring setting. If money were not an object and I had a front of house tech I would be all over the spring tank thing. I get it though and most if not all would likely agree on the purity of the sound coming from a proper spring tank. At $899 though this is a steel at 35W.

    Can one play this amp with headphones, for silent practicing?

    • @ethanyoung1697

      Not from the amp but if you have any form of recorder that you can plug a mic into, you can plug the amp in with a mic cable and put headphones in your recorder. It's what I do

      Unless you have some room to play, I don't know that this is a "bedroom" amp. I have a music studio in my basement and don't have the volume up too much and it is LOUD.

      @clamus68 5 лет назад

      Sure it is if you have a LARGE bedroom that can accommodate 500 or so people! But there is a great solution but it's pricey, a good attenuator.

      thanks for all the info, is there any alternative tube amp that will complement my katana?

    • @clamus68
      @clamus68 5 лет назад

      Not really. Small tube amps like the Fender Super Champ X2 is the closest you'll come but the Katana is better due to the built in power attenuator.

    A picture of the controls would be an improvement. Gain at 8 o'clock. What does that mean? 8 out of 10?

    Great cleans but "high gain" sounds like a very basic vintage overdriven sound. Not really suitable for anything modern.

      @rickslespaul 5 лет назад +1

      sixbladeknife44 you’re overthinking it. I didn’t play the high E because I played totally random stuff that I didn’t use a high string. Don’t worry, the high E sounds good too! ;)

      rick heins I hadn’t thought about it much at all actually, it just stuck out to me like it did to the other viewer who noticed the same thing...because when I’m listening or evaluating for a potential purchase, that’s something that’s important to me. I want to hear all the notes ring out clearly so I can get a firm grasp of the tones! But fair enough, it does sound good nevertheless and nice playing ;)
