Having owned 108 amps in the past 10 years, I can honestly say the Fender Bassbreaker ranks easily in my top 5. It can hang with the best of them....getting great tones from this amp is effortless and I've been waiting for a 30W to come out, I'm tickled pink! Def getting one.
Probably the best review I've ever seen done. Thanks for playing a lot of different sounds and settings both clean and dirty. Tones with delay on and delay off. Not too much talking but just enough to explain what you're doing and what the amp does. Probably the best demo I'm a product I have seen. Well done :-)
I find it interesting that I own a Vintage (brand) V100 LP copy that I can play an entire show with and "might" need to tune ever so slightly once, and this demo features a beautiful high dollar Gibson LP that must be re-tuned no less than three times... The amp sounds phenomenal!
I've owned this amp for about 4mos. GREAT Amp! I play Classic Rock and Blues with it in two Bands. Can't think of any other Fender Amp that will sound this good using Single Coils, Filter-Tron or Humbuckers. My ONLY Gripe is that when switching to HIGH GAIN there is about a 15 - 20 db jump in Volume! Can't really use it as a BOOST because it's not!! Fender designed this Amp to be used for "As They Said", Clean to Metal! Love the Amp though, and it came with everything an Amp should! Includes Amp Cover and Footswitch!! (It better for the Price they're charging for it)! $900 + TX. Free Shipping from Sweetwater!
Yes. It’s loud enough in my opinion! The Classic Rock Band I work with is the loudest of both and it holds its own nicely!! Like I said though the High Gain can’t be used as a Boost unless you wanna be VERY LOUD! Fender told me “It was NOT a Boost but like a separate channel of High Gain for Modern to Metal sounds”.
Nice demo, but for future reference, your voice mic is set way too loud relative to the levels of the amp. Once I got it loud enough to hear the amp clearly, you'd talk and blow out my ears.
Sounds great.. looking to do a comparison between the 30 and 15 variants as soon as I can find a store with both as not sure which one would be best for home and also playing with the band in a small hall.
I was able recently they both sound great I think the 15 sounds a tad better in the overdrive sections. The 30 has more headroom in the clean Chan. Of course
I Just tried both Fillmore 50 & 25. I played thru them both for quite a while. Believe it or not the tone is 99% Identical. The big difference is the 25 does not have a lot of clean headroom as you turn the volume up. Very Very Loud amps. I really couldn't turn the master volume up much at all. The Fillmore 50 is a beast but the ability to turn it down to 25 watts helps.
This amp always seems to sound nice close-mic'd in demos, but how is it live, in a band mix? I'm hoping that the midrange-focused nature of it cuts through without having to keep cranking it like with the more scooped Hot Rod series.
I own this amp. It can keep up nicely in a band context, I mean depending on where you play, but it is loud enough for almost any stage, and there is a lot of headroom. Plus, the eq is really sensitive, so you can adjust the mids to taste
I saw one comment about headphones via a recording interface, but just wanted to to confirm, using the XLR line out with speaker emulation silences the cab, so that only the XLR out has the audio signal (I.e., silent practice through your choice of audio interface?)
C Spencer this is screaming loud 30 watt tube amp. Considering there is no master- this is clearly only suitable for a practice space or for gigging. Consider an attenuator if u live near by others.
@@denieledwards6893 1) Noisy, unusable effects loop 2) Dodgy reverb, high pitched whine when turned up 3) Highest gain setting so damn noisy it's unusable Having said all that, once I spent $180AUD on the thing, it's fine. The reverb is still a bit dodgy but I don't use it - I use a pedal instead. Retubing and re-shielding (mostly the loop for the latter) did the trick.
Depends on what you want. If you’re looking for an amp that has the best clean channel and takes pedals well, Fender Bassbreaker 30r All the way!!!! The amp can do clean to classic rock well! If you’re not as concerned about the clean channel and want to mainly do hard rock and metal, I’d go with the Marshall DSL40cr. Personally, I’d go with the Fender, because I play more blues, pop, and classic rock. But, you really can’t go wrong with either of these!
This could be the amp I've been looking for all my life, the sound in my head
I agree
It’s really a great sounding amp! Love mine!
Best amp demo video I’ve ever seen. Well put together. The editing was tasteful. The guitarist gets an A+.
I just bought a Fender Bassbreaker 30R Tweed 30 minutes ago!

Probably the best amp on the market today a amp that does it all and sounds amazing

Sounds excellent, especially with the Strat. Well done.
As God intended

Rick Hill you said you use the amp in two bands. So the 30 Watts is enough to play with a loud drummer plus still have clean head room?
Yes. It’s loud enough in my opinion! The Classic Rock Band I work with is the loudest of both and it holds its own nicely!! Rick Hill thanks for the reply!
Oh, this sounded great to me. Great demo!
Great sounding amp...really like that echoplex delay too.
I just come here to hear Jim play. Really great talent.
Definitely very versatile amp I love theses V type celestion speakers clean and dirty are great
Are you Mark Lucas Jr.
Very good demo, thanks! Well paced and to the point. Great playing.
This amp sounds just amazing! Too bad there's no headphones output
Nice touch bro, with a couple of really nice guitars!!
Best review, thanks
Nice demo, but for future reference, your voice mic is set way too loud relative to the levels of the amp. Once I got it loud enough to hear the amp clearly, you'd talk and blow out my ears.
Very good demo
Balance the EQ of your voice volume with amp volume. Way different, great amp though!
Idk if its just my crappy headphones, but I don't hear much difference between bright and normal. How is it IRL?

zososhep Does the 25 have enough clean headroom for a gig or should I get the 50?
Amazing amp
Yo Jim is that a eric johnson strat? Sounds great man . Great playing and demo
I have a doubt about this kind of amps with bright switches: The bright switch affects clean channel only, or both clean and drive channels?
This amp always seems to sound nice close-mic'd in demos, but how is it live, in a band mix? I'm hoping that the midrange-focused nature of it cuts through without having to keep cranking it like with the more scooped Hot Rod series.

It’s really easy to dial in. I love the separate EQs and the gain boost switch.
The reverb is nice too.
The boost f#$cktion sounds great :)

I think you have to mute the amp for that.
Nice demo but do you have to tune after every song. Must be new strings.
How does this sound at low volume without a master view? Damn awesome man!

Sounds very noisy. I have the 15 and it has noise issue that Fender knows about but can't fix. It's the fx loop. Bummer because I really like it.
Hopefully I’ll get enough Christmas money to buy one!

Is the Direct Out able to be plugged into a multi-track recorder so I can practice with headphones anyone?
Yes.
The Neck and the bridge???
That was kind of funny.
Sitting up and standing down too lol
funnily enough i've rewired my strat so position 2 is the neck and bridge pickups together, so weirdly it made perfect sense to me lol

Is it useable at bedroom volume?
You can play in bedroom or at the Fillmore

Clean out your ears son. Its a BASSbreaker based on the BASSman. If you like shrill sounding gain channels, go buy a Marshall.
You can change the tubes to get the sound you like.
@@michaelbell75huh? Marshalls began as modified bassmans. The dirty channel on this amp is dull. No presence at all. I’ve played several in person.
@dlm531nope. Humbucker does not equal dull/muffled.
It was an 18/30 . I hate when people don't even know the products they're demoing
Not an 18/30. It's the 30R. He tends to mispeak. He did it a few times in this video.
