Really lovely voicing to this amp, almost hints of Mesa, Dumblish, Voxy, Marshally. Can’t wait to play one & heat it in person. The cleans were really impressive as well
I just bought a Bassbreaker 30r. Couldn't be happier with my purchase. Thanks, Fender. Btw, I wouldn't say that the "high gain" channel is for metal. More like a good platform for a higher gain solo, so there's no need for pedals
Im so happy right now... i have been the proud owner of his green hss strat for 2 mo. It sounds killer!! .. in my 007 bassbreaker sterio rig and straight into my jvm sterio stack. Rock on!!
do they sound alike? it`s hard to tell from videos. i really love the BB 15 and would dig a 30W version with channel switching. my impression is that the 30R does sound different
@@modestoney1577 I used two different guitars with each amp, but the gain voicing and tone is the same. The 15w & 30r high gain mode is not just good, it's impressive. The celestion V-type speaker may be my favorite celestion too. Big difference in volume and the 30r might have more gain at it's peak.
I wish the DI was not tied to channel volume....it NEEDS a separate DI volume level control for recording. And there is this fundamental frequency that does not change with EQ changes. It has a roar that stays in the sound no matter what knobs you twist. The Marshall bluesbreaker can sound thin and jangly and then fatten up with knob twisting and sound universal to tele’s strats and lesters... and even P90s.... pedals like a broader EQ range, and this Fender sounds great but has a one trick EQ set point. If you can get over that part.... it is a pretty different departure from stock Fenders....and in a good way....
I own this amp. Let me throw one more positive at this great amp. I have no desire to change the speaker! I am tweaky about the speaker in my amp and have always looked around for mods on amps to see what else others are doing. Not the situation here. Love, to my ear/taste the Celestion V type.
I like that you added reverb to the bassbreaker sorely missing in some prior versions. The gain does have some cool personality but wish it was a little more touch sensitive to get some different voices. Also there's no master volume?
I have one and just Love it. I play Classic Rock and Blues with it. I do wish it had a Master Volume, but wish it REALLY had a Level Control on the HIGH GAIN setting as I’ve tried to use it as a Lead Boost but it’s WAY TOO LOUD to be used that way! If anyone knows a way around this, PLEASE let me know. Thank You!
Change the speaker in the 30r.I tried a eminence tonker and it was more musical and open sounding.celestion cream back 65 also sounded much better than the stock speaker. Too many people selling bassbreaker combos. It's the speaker that let's it down.
Chuck Aspegren agreed. If it were tweed with the late 50’s Bassman look I think I’d be stalking this amp. Sweetwater should do a special run in tweed, wink wink.
I wish I had bought two of these instead of one of these and the bassbreaker 45. I was disappointed with the bassbreaker 45 when I run it next to this one.
I am torn between these two, but your comment is very helpful. No attenuator on the 30r and the bassman circuit on the 45 are imho the sticking points for me to just go for the 30r, but I hear so much good stuff about the 30r, does your comment still hold a year later?
Anyone know how the channel/boost switcher pedal would work if you used it with something like the Boss MS3 which can switch amp channels? Would it still work, or would you need to use the Fender supplied pedal
That's a tough call. So much of that is in personal preference and also in what type of guitar and pickups you're running through the amp. Can't go wrong w/ either and I have player through both but with a Fender Stratocaster, loved both. Went with the Bassbreaker 30R in the end.
I haven't seen a need for one. on the high-gain channel I just turn that volume pot down a little it gets a tad bit thin but it doesn't matter if we're just practicing anyway. Once you get it past one or two you've got all the good creaminess
How late in the 60's... Excellent for Bluesbreaker Clapton sound IMHO. I have this amp so I get what you're asking. Also a huge fan of Eric Clapton. Clapton was going through a Marshall at that time and this amp gives the notes that bit of a "grunt" if you will that's perfect for that. Contributing to that sound is also the touch sensitivity this amp has so you can set it on the edge of breakup and dig in for the solo parts and back off for rhythm. Now if it's the real late 60's stuff. I am currently run a mini-Fuzz through this amp and it could not sound better. I don't have an ES-335 but man, I imagine that would be heavenly on this amp. I do have a tele w/ a Nocaster in the bridge and a twisted tele in the neck and it comes through this amp very well so do both my flat pole pickup strat and my texas special strat. Hope that helps.
Rockdawg Undercover ah thank you for the reply! I saved up my pennies for a while and got a 2018 335 in a massive sale. I’ll probably start saving again and get this amp! thanks again for your reply mate.
@@samturner8177 Not familiar w/ the Marshall Studio Vintage. Probably great either way. I do like the gain foot pedal and the channel selector for playing live. If the Marshall has that "IT" sound and that's what you're truly after and deeply wanting I'd say go for it. The Bassbreaker is solid stock and light too. Good luck w/ your choice and report back if you will on how it worked out for you.
Orange? Crisp gain tones? Are you high? LOL!! I love Orange amps but there is nothing "crisp" about their gain sounds. Its very hairy and fuzzy gain, which is why they are THE stoner rock/metal amps. Gain on an Orange is nowhere close to crisp.
Own this amp and couldn't recommend it enough, it does it all!
Do the cleans sound really nice? I can hear the video obviously, but I like hearing individuals opinions.
Fender has knocked it outta the park with this one!! love my Bassbreaker 30R
Hello, after 2 years did you run into any issues with the amp?
Really lovely voicing to this amp, almost hints of Mesa, Dumblish, Voxy, Marshally. Can’t wait to play one & heat it in person. The cleans were really impressive as well
I love it. Fender is coming on so strong these last few years. This looks like a game changer for Fender.
now fender please please please please make a 60 watt 2 x 12 version of this amp and you will have the absolutely best tube amp on the market.
Why would you ever need that?
Where is the market for that?
With a lower watt setting.
You sir are absolutely correct.212 is so so much fuller than single 12.any player should know that, ask the pros
I have quite a few amps. The 30R has quickly become my favorite of them all. It doesn’t sound like ANYTHING else!

The 007 is a superb little amp. I love it.
Does it sound good a low volume as well? Home volume.
Excellent amp....Fender delivered big time. I still have my BB15 but the versatility of this one is just awesome
Got one of the first ones ,WOW perfect for playing out!!
My epiphone LP with duncans sounds really mean through this amp. The 30r is a beast. The bb 15w is mean too
do they sound alike?

They should make this the Rick Heins signature amp. He always sounds great but his demos of this have been off the charts.

Really wonder why they didn't do power attenuator or master volume. Only reason I haven't pulled the trigger.
Paul always looks like John Cougar Mellencamp after being caught in the rain.
LOL!

Rick, try a volume pedal in the effects loop.

I just wish so much that it looked like a vintage amp....I know it´s daft but it´s appearance really puts me off. Sounds great though...
Chuck Aspegren agreed. If it were tweed with the late 50’s Bassman look I think I’d be stalking this amp. Sweetwater should do a special run in tweed, wink wink.
To the owners of this how is the clean headroom??, loud enough to get over a loud drummer??
30 tube watts is plenty!!
If you just listen to the audio, it sounds like Joe Pesci doing the interview.
ahahah
When they switch the cam angle, it looks like Paul is 2' tall and melting into his dad's shirt.
Holy fuck it does..

Just ordered one at Sweetwater!🤘
"Thanks for coming back"
- "Absolutely" 😂
Played one today at GC. Really didn't get to put it through its paces, long story, but it seemed promising.
Hi!!!! is this amp) useable at bedroom volumes with a good tone especially in the clean tones , clean or with pedals?
There's no master volume, so for low volume you'd need to use an attenuator.
Digging that high GAIN!
Dsl40 or this for Distorted Channel?

I was waiting for young Joe Pesci to bash that other guys head in with his jazzmaster lol
Is that an American Performer Strat?
this amp looks like a major win.
Paul, it's called a Bassbreaker not a Backbreaker. :-) This amp is on my wish list. I was going for the 15 watt head but I like this better.
Is there a master volume?
What microphone is that? Can someone help me?
An Overall Master Volume would be nice though , i like to run my clean channel bit higher so it breaks up a bit

Anyone had issues with the foot switch drive / more drive button??
You haven't lived until you gig with a Quad Reverb.
Anyone know the light blue model Strat on the right?
That’s an American performer strat HSS in surf green! Absolute beauty
I'm getting one
Fender's answer to the Peavey Classic 30....30 years later.
THIS IS... DELICIOUS!
I didn't know Michael J. Fox worked for Guitar World.
anyone know how good this amp would be to make a late 60’s clapton tone?

Does anybody remember Brad Pitt in True Romance?
Shame there is no lower watt setting id buy this.
Pull out a set of tubes, now you got a 15 watter
I think Paul could fit inside of this amp.
Metal with a Fender amp, you must be joking ;) Never seen that in real life ;)
Should have shown how the footswitch works ...most guys use the fs ... kinda dumb
"It's a hall reverb, so is it Analog?" 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
👍🔥🎸🦅
TOO MUCH TALKING!!!! JUST PLAY AND LET ME HERE IT!!!!! Musicians learn a lot more by hearing it then they do about you talkin about it. Lol
don't try to sell me cab emulation without testing it ... everyone knows they usually suck
Until you need to repair it

There is an effects loop so you're welcome! :)
It has an effects loop
