A lot of changes in the industry have been started yrs ago and the a big issue is the average O-O, driver and small fleet owner don't keep w/ anything other than diesel prices and mile rates etc. We have to get informed so we can start fighting against changes before they've already been rolled out!

      That’s the problem, the truckers are in a position that either they must do it or don’t make ANY MONEY…They are trapped in the Tyranny..California is a “Test Subject State” that has every aspect of their citizens lives under scalp and micro scope. California is a “Test Subject State” that’s being studied under tax’s and regulations, and crime data, and even down to the laws…all for the federal government. So they can do, cause and effect
      economic studies. The EconomicMarxism is being tested. And it’s failing every time…and it’s all being studied to replace freedom,self reliance, and to strip away everything that has to do with self reliance. And it’s starting with the Truckers…It’s a full chapter out of the Communist Manifesto and this isn’t a Conspiracy Theory either..They are also Grooming and been Grooming Gruesome Newson for the Presidency. The intermodal freight is almost exclusively restocking freight, it’s the same month after month & is heading to a huge redistribution facility so the 30 days isn’t a big factor. This has been going on forever on the west coast and if look around you see no stop construction of these huge freight warehouse sites.. They may impact your over the road drivers but they will continue to need more local hook & drop contractor’s so it’s give & take.. Why do you think Tesla is building trucks… They will dominate the hook & drop trucking industry & Amazon will be the first to require EV vehicles to move those containers..

    The system works by frieght ships go to port , then trains carry to secondary ports where trucks pick up from there this has always been the way it works . My point is that the rail is actually very important to truck jobs without it the system would not function efficiently at all

  • @kensalas2085
    @kensalas2085 6 месяцев назад +1

    Vic makes a great point but what I think is missing in his thought is that freight from the port out, is down over 50% capacity. So why would it make sense for JB HUNT to launch this intermodel is because in a Global Logistics market (bulk freight), it is much easier to advance book freight as it is much more consistent and with more and more manufacturing for durable, consumer goods becoming less manufactured in China and more of it being produced here and in Mexico, Canada and other more feasible markets due to automated production and with more and more Ai integration the overall cost is actually becoming less than production costs in China when you factor in shipping costs. So bottom line, look at the ports projections for harbor freight in bound over the next Quarter, projections are less than current volume, and it may pick up in the second and third quarters but is still going to be much lower than years past. If anything that will pick up in bulk shipping will be food, clothing and housing supply ( I would imagine pet supply will hold steady too) that being said, most economist are now agreeing in larger numbers that we as a Nation are heading into a very sharp downward recession, I feel with all that has already transpired and what can eventually spread into other markets for no reason other than panic and fear, we may see the FEDS intervene with some kind of TARP/Quantitative Easing program to spur lending into the business side of things to allow for these surviving companies to restructure, maybe grow off of the increased inventory that exist and start pumping more liquidity into our economy. Trucking/Logistics operations is a large part of that, without the ability to leverage and a reasonable cost, small potential fleet owners and owner operators don't have much of chance to get started, these are the people that will be hiring the drivers and paying the higher wages to be competitive, it's all relatively cyclical but when those capital markets over extend their clawback or they just cease to exist themselves.. Just to give prospective, I have a friend in Real Estate, hasn't sold a home in over 14 months, had to finally short sell his, he is looking for a guaranteed income job so he can afford rent in a 3br apartment, sold his $125,000 Range Rover and is driving his daughter's high school car (2014 Honda Accord). I've seen this happen in 2006-2009 and it seems very similar, may not be exactly the same markets but the results are similar. I pray for all those truckers and their Families, it's gonna get even more rough before we see any upward movement... GOD BLESS and Be Safe!

    This foo from Cali doesn't know what he's talking about!😂It does not take 35 days for railcars to move containers across country...that's typically the time it takes for the steam ship line vessel to arrive at the port from country of origin! Also, most American states don't have railyards...where the actual train stops for unload or reload of containers with huge cranes or big Taylor machines stacking up containers on the ground for final delivery. Many states have train yards for maintenance, but not actual railyards with loads. Also, 53 ft containers are only domestic USA, Canada and Mexico. 45, 40, and 20 ft are imported containers that came off a vessel or going on a vessel to different countries. Why would anyone pull a container for Long Beach Ca to the Midwest...when Chicagoland has about 25 different railyards with container service? Much much cheaper that way, move more leads in one shot...on a train with less pollution and it only takes about 1 week to reach railyards. Things will never go back to normal...this is the new normal people!!!🤔🤐💯💯💯

What happens in our industry and all the b.s. they impose on us effects prices!
    And they wonder why they have to take out a personal loan to buy a box of cereal or that same cereal isn't on the shelf because it's still in a trailer on the highway poking along at 60mph!
    A pissed off customer base is the best way to put an end to all this crap!

    Carb will increase inspections too four times annually after three years . This rule will impact California trucks and our of state trucks passing through. It will also impact other vehicles like motor homes, agricultural equipment etc.

    There are eight times more vehicles out there on the road than there are tractor trailers. But yet they have no smog checks for vehicles. It’s the same thing as the gun right they’re gonna go after the people that do it the right way instead of the people that do it the wrong way.

    Only big companies like JB Hunt can afford the regulation, because they are the ones paying off the political people.
    So the O/O working the ports are going to get regulated out of business.

    Can you do a video on a company called Jr capital? They are loan sharks targeting small companies charging 50% interest and they are allowed because the lenders they use require you to sign over your accounts receivable and it isn’t a traditional loan. They will literally lie to get you to sign papers. They lie about interest rates, payoffs, and it’s all electronic. They have no google reviews and use finance companies like new lane finance which ultimately charge 50% interest. Spoke with a guy named Miguel Torres. Literally lied repeatedly for no reason. Can we shed a light on the supposed companies that offer small companies financing. We need to see about Ritchie bros as well and regulate these terms. Thank you brother.

    Been driving for 20+ years.. been driving intermodal. California motherland they will regulate everything here we could say so much but we just need to adapt their changes. I work for jbhunt intermodal driver. Most companies don’t like jbhunt either. They been misled or miss. Interpret behind delivers loads specially, right now there is pies. Might take 15 days to deliver determine the arrival.. Lot of owner operators I’m not gonna point a finger they been abusing the system for many years California is catching up. I wouldn’t be surprised for the next 10 years. All owner operators might be banned from California how things are looking

    Rail (Piggyback) from the port of LA/LB to an eastern US destination does not take 30 days. Traffic Managers know schedules and supply chain managers (professionals) know how to fit the pieces together (sync) into reliable pipelines. Time is money. Cheaper stuff will always seek out lower cost freight modal options. Basic (historical) Taylor studies will help make these choices.

    hey Alex, I sent you a message before regarding rail @ the of 2022 & so far in 2023 “THEY” have been doing a pilot program for the rail to see how much “THEY” can move to keep up with supply and demand & it shows that rail saves more money & reduces the overall emissions because you’re not needing all the trucks to move this freight so they have already been doing this. What we need to be talking about is how can we get more of a piece of it either from the railyards or from the point of distribution specially coming from, the East Coast

    • @gearedlowslow4827
      @gearedlowslow4827 6 месяцев назад +1

      Vick is wrong it doesn’t take 30 days the way they have been stacking these trains. It takes an average of 8 to 10 days turnaround and they’re doing this ahead of time. The freight that’s going east right now is everything that’s coming in for the spring they’re already ahead of the game by three months this is been going on since before the pandemic why do I know because I used to be in logistics, warehousing with eagle, global logistics and their large customers, Nike airwalk adidas and different large clothing brands overseas ship there, goods three months in advance, their three months in advance because it takes 10 to 21 days for an ocean freighter to get to port then it takes another seven days for it to get into port and unloaded. Then we got a put it on the rail and it has to get to his destination a month and a half early so it could be distributed. This is how it works. They’re always a quarter of the year, I had a schedule that’s why I get winter clothes being released in the summer is that simple?

    0:46 Just like they did with asphalt years ago. They will give tax incentives that the customer will not refuse. Especially since we have been subsidizing the railroad for decades. And then all the big companies will move in and take over the rest of the way, especially since they are already in bed with the government.
