If you're a Landstar owner operator? Is it true that they are Dropping New Drivers or is this just a singular problem????

My husband, who is a Landstar Driver is doing some research for you. Happy Anniversary 😊
Yes sir they told me the same thing.
NOW THAT BROKERS CANT STEAL FROM TRUCKING COMPAINES ANY MORE GOVT MADE IT HARD FOR THEM . NOW!! BROKERS ARE TRYING TOO CHARGE COMPAINES FOR NOT USEING TRACKING APPS. AN THE TRUCKING COMPANIES ARE WITH IT.
I called an agent I'm friends with at Landstar and that isn't true if they are losing their lease it could be for a multitude of reasons but being new isn't one of them
False information new bco get load after orientation .I’m bco 10years thanks
A lot of carriers are keeping loads in house because they have to keep enough loads for their own
Wow, 500k subscribers. Nice Job.
Appreciate you
Was just made known of this a day ago... a good friend who used to haul Landstar loads was told he could no longer book freight
I booked a Landstar load today. I have my own authority. I just looked on several load boards, and there are many Landstar loads available.
If he becomes a full blown BCO he probably can
Bullshit
I just started with Landstar a little over a month ago, and I have no problems booking loads.
@layne335is9 what are you hauling?
@@gavnonadoroge3092 dry van
@@gavnonadoroge3092
He’s hauling windshield time.
As a driver who has driven for 39 years and grown up around the industry, I will repeat what another said a few weeks ago. This is cyclical, companies open and close, the market gets purged of the ones who aren't good business people. There's always going to be turbulence and if you're planning for it, things may get tight but you will survive.
This is a deep cycle...
I get it. If I had a face like that, I’d resort to stealing mirrors too. Hell, I’d break them.
😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Lol!
Thanks MuthaTrucker... this channel has helped me a lot🔥🔥🔥
My husband is a BCO for Landstar, and been there about a year. I have my own Authority. I haul a lot of Landstar brokered loads. I booked a Landstar load today off a public load board. There are BCO only loads on the Landstar load board. I think this is a one-off issue. 🤷♀️
I quit driving truck last year after 35 years, the last 24 of which being a leased BCO with Landstar in the heavy haul side of the business. They’re still sending me emails once a month asking me to go back. LOL
I figured this would happen with USPS. I picked up loads , empty lo😊ds and got paid good money for it. I said to myself they waste a ton of money doing this when they have their own drivers. But hey , if it pays good, I'm not going to complain. They will be looking for good drivers by next year , I'm sure of it. So if you truckers want some long-lasting union benefits, apply now. Because the process can take a while.
I use to work for a company that delivered loads to the post office and talked to a driver the isn’t great and they all work a rotating schedule nights one week and days the next. I was like nah I’m good 😅
I work only days 5 or 6 days none of that rotation stuff. @ usps
Congrats on 500k Alex!!!
Appreciate you
Freight still has to get moved around the USA, someone has to move it; " it can't move itself ."
Somehow it will move
A lot of companies are shutting down 👎..I'd say hold your equipment..for at least 18 months.. company drivers..are the winners during these times 😞🙏
Thousands of company drivers have been let go
my job let me go cause insurance went up, just got another one last month
It's called seniority. It doesn't get any fairer. Loyalty has importance.
Was thinking the same thing
Landstar doesn't do senority when loading trucks..
Agents who book the loads decide who gets to haul their freight this is nothing new been this way since I started in 2001 with landstar
@jessiesaylor3197 not necessarily. Landstar Corp has some restrictions like csa record. If it gets bad agents aren't allowed to broker to them.
You also forgot, favoritism as well will get you loads!
POSITIVELY,,AWESOME ALEX
That happened to me, they stopped giving loads for some carriers for no reason!
Landstar doesn’t have dispatchers
I don’t think this Landstar driver has his story right, I’ve been with LS for 24 years.I haven’t heard anything like what you said. I could be wrong.
I'm a rehire at Landstar I have no problem booking loads. they're calling me constantly to book a load.
Could you help me out with some of those connections you have?
Who’s calling you? Please share the loads as lots of people on here need them.
@@dnicer8756 Go get your own connections, you a grown ass man,no one is coming to save you. YOU🫵🏾 signed up for this. There’s 60k-80k loads on the Landstar board EVERYDAY and the fact that you STILL need someone to hold your hand baby sitting you it just shows you’re the problem. You have HUNT on that load board YOURSELF, call agents, develop YOUR OWN relationship with them. If you’re the lazy whiny cry baby wanting someone to hold your hand go back company it’s simple.
Im a new carrier and have been told no by landstar. They told me its a business decision and nothing personal.
I'm with Landstar. If your leased to them as a BCO, you're fine. They did drop a bunch of outside approved carriers due to a lot of fraud problems. Sounds like he may be one of them and is now trying to stir up some crap.
Sounds about right, I started in January and running strong still
USPS started a pilot program to hire local trucking routes from within USPS in Oklahoma City. They also hire outside USPS. It's good pay and benefits. Similar to APWU level 6 or 7 pay. You go through one month, I believe, of training. Don't screw that up, because you're on probationary period at that time. I think starting pay is $25 hour and currently top pay is about $33 and change. Night differential and 25% Sunday premium. If your shift start on or end during any time on a Sunday, every click is Sunday premium except overtime. Eleven holiday pay. Two days off. There's three shifts. All based on senority and job bidding system.
I have be passing this information along
True story. No explanation.. we got our authority Feb of 22 and they will not book with us anymore..
Once the Covid get rich quick companies go under and the foreigners leave then things will get better. Nobody’s really trying to drive a truck anymore so freight should get better for those who stick around.
I'm a BCO at Landstar that started in June. I'm able to book loads with no issues.
Hard for me to say this in a nice way....seems a lot of van drivers could bennifitt from cleaning up there ackt...
We know what you mean. Facts.
I’ve been a Landstar BCO going on three years. I haven’t heard this. In fact I’m still getting calls and texts for load offers in November. Usually flatbed freight slows down this time of year. I saw $3 a mile freight out of New Jersey two days ago. Had to pinch myself to check if I were dreaming. I think this source may be an independent approved carrier trying to scare ppl because things went south for him or her. When life kicks your ass don’t distribute the pain to other ppl.
I'll get down to the bottom of this
I've been with Landstar for over 10 years, this is the first I have heard of this.
Appreciate the comment. Would be great if you can find out if there is any truth to this. Thanks
Landstar as a whole would not single out BCOs for "failure" quite the contrary. They will have a hiring freeze and not accept new leases. Now, if a BCO has managed to rock the boat with several agents, then they will get black balled by those agents. But no, Landstar is not selective loading BCOs. Freight kinda sucks, I live in west Tennessee and when freight is booming I have difficulty finding decent loads out of here, so it particularly sucks right now. It is more than likely that this particular BCO has offended the agents he has been trying to work with, or he is getting himself into areas that are poor freight lanes. He could also just be a crybaby bullshitter trying to start some crap..... IDK, but my source in Grand Prarie Texas terminal says that no such thing is happening.
@sheri9975 I have to agree with you. My husband is a BCO, and I have my own authority. I've talked to several Landstar agents I book with, and they will load me anytime. Unless the customer is preferred BCO. I agree, this driver has pissed some people off and won't load him. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving 😊
I was with Landstar until May this year. They can cancel the loadboard for a driver for many reasons, internal policies that they have, like trailer or trucks 90 days inspection, but they send advises in your email and in the app.
In summer Landstar board was not good, you need to sit and call 20 or more agents to find a load, some days you not find any and the agents not take out the loads from the board once they book so you loose your time. Also you have load alerts and in 1 minute you call and load was not available. If that happens to this driver is some issue that He have and He not call Lanstar on time for solve it.
I work for a company contracted through USPS as well, the 10 Roads thing has been in the works for quite some time. No shock n it wasn’t all the sudden.
Im at LandStar. Buddy of mines got on about 5 months ago and just booked a load today. Whoever told you that probably got let go for something he did wrong or got put on a temp hold.
No wonder they weren't taking on new carriers with new authority, and this was months ago. 😮
I've been doing well in my job thank God, but I've always been paid a little less than market rate. I've always been okay with that and now I'm thankful because I've been here for 2 and 1/2 years and I think I've established myself as someone reliable for them to keep if layoffs come down the pipeline
@MuthaTrucker yes the denied me from booking any loads with them. They told me it was a business decision with no explanation. I have ran loads with them before.
Awesome 👌
That's probably why I see a lot if there truck's for sale in Greensboro, nc
I personally know the Orientation Trainer in the Dallas area and she says this isnt true.
Its probably a one off deal
Thanks!!!
Landstar told me they’re not taking on new Carriers. No new Authorities can sign up with them
Air tag everything.
THE REASON COULD BE THAT USPS HAD A BIG LOSS THIS QUARTER
Lets see if the higher up get bonuses this year.
Economy is done is evey one in America a damn brainless zombie sure looks like
A loss of mail
Interesting I quit landstar last summer and released in February of this year so we will see,I've run hard all year but their is a few here that are looking to go pull refers out of Minnesota. I've been thinking about a dump trailer. But I'm getting tired of the road and ready for SS .
My company called me and asked ifbi wouldbbe interested in doing a lease purchase. They also informed me that our per mile pay will be reduced. The writing is on the wall.
I hope you said "not interested" to lease purchase. It's a great way for them to relieve themselves of all the equipment liability, cut your pay in the process, and then if the market further slows and you can't make payments they repo your truck.
I've been telling people this for months that Landstar has been cutting back taking on new contractors and it the inedible was going to happen .
That inevitability was contractors being let go from Landstar due to a shrinking freight market and pressure to retain their loyal and long-term BCOs, You got to be able to have enough to go around to keep settlements Up and seniority BCO's happy.
Hey Alex. I'll drop you an email later but for now, I drive for Walmart out of TX and I'm doing great. We've actually been getting $300 bonuses for extending our week for 6 hours on day 6.
Im Bco in Landstar, only approve and new carriers got cut off from landstar , Reson :..insurance issues, employes issues, cover up bad inspections, old equipment , booking loads and selling them to another carrier, holding the loads with appointments in yards due to trucks breakdowns or no driver available ....itd. its more ............. and Landstar sayed enough . It will be more cuts when clearing house releases their data about driver records
Alot of postal contractors, make the switch and hire on at USPS, usually at the same facility.
They still recruiting tho. I just got email yesterday!
I just talked to a friend that runs USPS loads on the Westcoast. The company he drives for lost most of the accounts. The company had to scramble to find other work for them.
I haven’t heard about no Landstar drivers getting dropped but I do know is that there’s a ton of Landstar drivers using PC exaggerated that these must be the guys getting dropped and it’s better they get dropped cause they messing up the company score !!
From what Landstar owner operator told me. Is that they don't even hire Truckers without 2 years OTR experience
I'm buying a couple more trucks as we speak...
I dont think that's true because as a BCO in landstar, you are an asset, making money for landstar, the more drivers the more money landstar will make, despite you do any loads or not you pay for insurance, eld and equipments you use, landstar has no obligation to guarantee your income, so I doubt they would kick drivers just because they are new
Excellent point. 😊
Too many truck drivers everyone can’t be a truck driver that’s why rates are low there other careers
@sonny79d I get what you are saying. Most drivers are not in it for the long haul. It takes a special person to long-haul. My whole life, all I have ever wanted to do is be a long-haul trucker with my own authority. I achieved that goal, and I have two trucks. A 97' W900L and a 2017 WS with two trailers. A 53' step deck and a 48' reefer spread axle. I've worked my ass off for what I have. Landstar has me on top of the list for outside carriers. I honestly think this person is making a fuss is just an inadequate OO. HAPPY THANKSGIVING 😊
@sonny79d Sonny, there is a difference between a trucker, a hand, and a steering wheel holder! I'm an American trucker, and someday, I'll be a good hand until then, I'm just a trucker doing that deal. We all started a rookie and after 17 years, I'm still just learning. Teach the new, educate the retards!
It's only those that have their own authority not lanstar BCOs. this old news they drop the carriers who goes onto landstar board
Alex I love your show. I use it to judge the economy. What is wrong with people like the guy stealing mirrors off trucks? This is like a high school prank with no excuse. So many people doing stupid things that hurt others for no apparent reason. I am dissapointed in how America has changed. We used to help each other.
The mirror thief neededs to reflect onhis actions. 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
It’s a policy. It has been in place for years. You cannot book High Value if you’re less than 120 days. Or have a service failure.
It's happening to outside carriers for post office. Xpo is recruiting over the road drivers . Decoy the head of post office family owns xpo.
I’m in the last step of being with Landstar as a BCO did hazmat and there just verifying my employment still gotta get my truck dot
Usps needs to stick to envelopes and leave the packages to the big boys
I once tracked a package travel all over my state AFTER it was 20 minutes from my home the night before. Took an extra 3 days. Government efficiency at its finest. They have zero incentive for customer service. 😂
They used to run there own trucking before the contractors an all the sell outs… - a HR driver ready to puke ova here
I got laid off from 10 roads 3 months ago. Rumor is they want to shut down postal service and give all the business to UPS. And then you'd only get your mail two or three times a week. That's what I heard anyways
They had hired some horrible BCO’s the last few years. Makes sense to me.
are you one of them?
@@mahbubmono, have had my own authority since 2006. I’m am an Approved Carrier for Landstar though.
@@wesley_scott OK good.
You have to build relationships. Talk to people, make sure you keep in contact with them through the good and the bad times.
Happened to me as well. No explanation or anything other than it being a "business decision"..smh
Alex,I run 4 years for Landstar, & look like 3 month can't get loads from Broker I run for 4 years, they say no loads. I know that is not true. I was think y is that,so look like now I know y.
Landstar sent me an email yesterday about leasing my truck on to their company 🤔 I won't do it though.
They're still putting loads on the DAT and Truck Stop loadboards
I sent you an email regarding the problems at Landstar.
So are they sending the usps drivers otr or are they brokering out the otr loads?
Good evening, am with Land Star for less than a year and am still booking load, I don't have any issues other than some loads is very cheap
If you are an "approved carrier" with Landstar, then they could possibly be holding their loads for BCOs only.....if youre a BCO at Landstar, then you arent having any issues booking loads.
If they are a approved carrier the landstar agent/broker will give the load to the landstar OO before giving it to an approved carrier. We are OO or fleet owners. If New OO are losing their contract it usually self inflected. The contract is clear and in black and white of what things are allow as an OO.
Im a reefer with landstar for about 5 months zero problems so far. I have my own equipment so not sure if that's part of it.
This total BS Called my recruiter this morning and they know nothing about cutting drivers.
Looks like they're not using new carriers anymore. So leased on drivers with landstar are fine. 👌
Dryvan and refers are struggling. Flat bed/heavy haul thriving. Come on over dryvan/ reefer. We could use you/need you.
I had a route with USPS for 10 years through a mail contractor until a year ago. The post office awarded it to a freight brokerage that dismantled the whole contract. I would have retired from that job... (DRO) Dynamic Route Optimization is in the works...
Thats breach of contract those drivers need to sue landstar.
Landstar is not taking on any new broker carriers because of the fact, present freight is way down, so to be fair, no new carriers are being signed up presently. The owner operators that are leased to Landstar are fine, they may not be leasing on any more vans or flatbed operators, because of the present market. Landstar doesn't own any trucks, strickly owner operators, including heavy haul guys.
We just heard a Landstar commercial on the Sirius xM radio looking for drivers. Don’t know if it was OO or company drivers
Landstar has no company drivers only o/o
Only owner operator but you can work for an owner
@@joearnone8138 thanks for clarifying. Well they are looking!
@@frankszabo4487 well they obi are in need to be advertising! Ty for clarifying
they told me there not accepting no new carrier in Illinois
Thanks
Walmart is hiring but you have to pass assessment test before you get hired,if you don't pass you don't have a job,the pretrip is no joke, they want the best of the best and thats good, thats what a companies standard should be.
no do not purchase any new or used equiptment at all ...save your cash credit capability for some other investment..Be safe out there.
I literally just called Landstar today and was told the same. It's true.
That drivers is not a landstar BCOs tell him to apply with landstar and become a BCOs instead of trying to book loads as a carrier
Mirror theif what a weird guy 😂
Our Corporation is starting to do the same for our truck drivers in Florida because our N/S drivers are avg. 30 hours per week!!!
Some of the big carriers will fire the drivers that are protesting in New york,
Walmart is doing the same thing..using their own drivers /fleet
Sounds more like they are dropping new landstar authorized carriers… there are no landstar drivers… just BCOs and authorized carriers
Jb hunt did that also
If the BCO can't book a load it could be a few things. They didn't get his 120 inspection, hazmat expired, or just pissed off a couple agents and hit the DNL list.
Mirror guy looks like John Cougar Mellencamp!
They are not dropping Landstar driver, outside brokers maybe.
I have my own authority and when I tried to sign on with Landstsr as a new carrier they told me they are not taking new carriers as of April 2023.
I'm least on with landstar and I never heard of this.
I have 186k gross this year my truck is paid off so I'm doing fine not great but far better than most
The ol sidemirror fetish .😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
i wonder is the reason for those who were dropped at landstar, didn’t have hazmat endorsements and other poor performances. i called yesterday, they told me i needed hazmat before i can be hired.
Sadly. It's difficult to capitalize on the bottom/dip in the market. Cars, Trucks, trailers, homes, etc. When property goes for pennies, just another well-to-do, big money company, high roller snatches it all up, then retail flips for top dollar profits.
Buy a trailer dirt cheap? Nope! A broker bundled a 5 trailer package deal. Took em all!
