In my 4 years as a student and 20 years as staff I have never once heard this superstition about the grass. Probably started by Estates employees to keep the grass from getting ruined or a track from forming with people using it as a shortcut
Amisha I applied to the university of Glasgow through commonapp ( the American equivalent to UCAS) as I had used all 5 of my UCAS choices. It was a bit tiring as commonapp requires you to write atleast 3 essays and it also requires an SAT score in addition to your IELTS scores and high school scores. It isn't hard but it is a bit tiring. If you apply through UCAS, only a personal statement, your IELTS and high school scores are required. At most it'll take 10-15 days for you to build a solid application, so nothing to worry about.
Never thought of Glasgow University felt like Hogwarts when i was a student there, but then J K Rowling was but a wee lass back then and Harry Potter was non existent. I want to go here to study Art History, as my dream in life is to become a dress historian. 4 more years until I graduate ahah... maybe I'll update this comment in 2024 lol Also, can someone explain to me what a postgraduate taught is? I was searching through the site and found a MLitt "Art History: Dress and Textile Histories." What exactly does this mean? I'm sorry if this sounds dumb, I'm 14 and very new to this and live in America so idk if the terms are the same. I'd love some advice if possible 😊
As a Glasgow University student I'd strongly advise studying here as lectures keep being cancelled at the last minute. You get no warning whatsoever. You certainly don't get an apology. When I complained I was threatened with exclusion. Although students are not receiving a service they had paid for, i.e. tuition, the university still expects students to pay tuition fees in full. If you don't they threaten you with expulsion. This on top of the lockdown, when the university threatened us with arrest and exclusion if we left our rooms. This university is useless. It is also very bullying. It is a total waste of money. My advice - if you want to be North of the Border, go somewhere else. There's plenty of better universities in Scotland, which treat students reasonably.
