You do NOT need a timetable on the Glasgow underground. You just turn up and wait 10 mins max. The city does have a nother subway called the 'low level ' which is an East West line through the city centre.
Glasgow’s rail network is so much bigger than that 😂 15 main lines take trains to the north, south, east and west of the city, and to places further afield such as the west coast seaside towns of Gourock and Weymss Bay, where you can catch ferries to some of our islands. Trains to posh suburbs north of Glasgow and to southern towns in Ayrshire and Lanarkshire leave from ‘low level’ Central and Queen Street. Anyone interested, google ‘Glasgow train network map’

If you can't have double glazed windows, you should look into secondary glazing instead. Secondary glazing is not the same thing as double glazing. It's very cheap and doesn't require planning permission and you can install it yourself. You order a custom piece of clear acrylic panelling cut to the right size, and use magnetic strips to stick it to the inside of the existing window area in winter. In summer when it's warmer and you don't need it, you can just remove it because it pops off easily due to only being attached with a magnetic seal.

It's a horribble damp cold , I think it's a British thing. 've never been in another country where it can take you so long to get "warmed up". Still a great place to be honest.
The most frustrating thing about public transportation in Glasgow is the true subway exists in the city, but does not have a particular name for it, just called ScotRail, that is why all the foreigners DO NOT know about it and use this funny circle called Subway. You can get particularly to any part of Glasgow by the system of suburbian train, for example to Finnieston you can get from Partick station or Hyndland. The station is called Exhibition centre. One of the lines from Partick leads to Motherwell to the east, the other one - up to Edinburgh! So if you live along the line, you can take the ticket to Edinburgh right from your station. What is also convenient about it, if you take a long distance ticket with ScotRail, for example, you live at Partick and you go to Ayr, the ticket price will cost the same as from Glasgow Central! They will give you two tickets for the price of one - Partick-Glasgow Central and Glasgow Central-Ayr. Also there is an annual unlimited ticket for ScotRail + Subway, so you can just make a transfer at any of the transit stations like Partick, Buchanan Street-Queen station and st Enoch-Glasgow Central lines 16-17. So it is really important if you come to Glasgow to live
It’s called ‘the train’. People say: ‘I’m getting the train to Motherwell from Glasgow Central low level.’ Or you might catch ‘the train’ to Airdrie from Glasgow Queen Street low level. At these two main stations, trains leave from the upper level or ‘low level’ but it’s not a total underground system, it’s only underground in the city. As soon as they get out of the central area, the trains are out in the open. Hope that makes sense. And yes, hop off the subway at Partick and catch a train one stop to Exhibition Centre and you’re now IN FINNIESTON 😊 The station was called Finnieston before the exhibition centre was built 😊
@@ReaghanReilly exactly, just because the whole train system appeared in Glasgow before those hipster words subway or metro. You cannot call it a city train either, because Glasgow is not quite just Glasgow City but also East Ren, East Dun, Lanarkshire and all the rest. Just most countries associate train system with intercity only, but here in Scotland that's a vast subway that unites the whole lowlands into a single conurbation. BTW most of the worlds subway systems are not fully underground, as an example New York subway system turns into an overground in Brooklyn, Boston green lines are just trams outside the city centre, Moscow metro is an overground closer to the Moscow State Uni, Some Istanbul metro lines are overgrounds outside the central part, like the one that goes through the bus station and ikea

I'm American (Idaho) and my daughter attended/graduated from the University of Edinburgh and the University of Glasgow. She now resides in Glasgow where she practices Scots Law. Totally spot on with the weather. I have lived in London Bristol and lived near Glasgow but worked in and around Glasgow....and Other cities. Glad you loving Glasgow. Just wanted to say Bristol and London are great to live in too. But living in cities.....too expensive for ordinary people.
Try telling that to English people, including Pastors James White and Curtis Browne who received a largely UNWELCOMING experience from the locals. And the University of Glasgow has a rector who glorified the IRA and other terrorists.
The west end of Glasgow is my happy place. I used to spend summer holidays at my aunties who lived just north of Kelvingrove. I haunted the museum and art gallery when it rained, which of course was quite often. Glaswegians are the best people.
Well I moved from Kansas to Boston in 2000 and had many of the same experiences. Wish I had known about Glasgow then, as I write this from Glasgow, KY, which you would think there would be some consanguinity, but No.
I visited lovely Glasgow at the beginning of September and one of the first things I noticed was I saw the colour purple quite a bit. I asked two people if they knew why and they did not. Maybe someone reading this knows?
I love how you describe the Scottish summer weather. Our subway is nicknamed the Clockwork Orange. I am glad you chose God country to live in. People make Glasgow. Happy to have a lovely person like yourself in our town. ❤
Good thesis, tho recently I've fallen in love with Edinburgh too; feel like I'm cheating, but because of tourists Edinburgh hasn't been hit by covid, amazon, alcohol pricing, smoking ban, and other things as much as Glasgow, when I lived in Glasgow it was doubly buzzing, at least; twenty four seven..
Anyone experienced, witnessed or know of any prejudice or racism in Glasgow against any other non glasgowegian nationalities? For example, racism against Asians, spanish or blacks? I've always pondered and entertained the idea of moving there from the 🇺🇸
Pretty sure that nowhere is free of racism but hand on heart can say that Glasgow is one of the friendliest places. The people also have a really good sense of fair play and justice- so they will look out for you.
The thing you missed is the most important thing; that there are 1000 Glasgows. They’re all sort superimposed on each other, facilitating a thousand different cultures. A strange consequence of that is the city never really changes. Glasgow is a bit like the planet Solaris.
Re: "..... Glasgow will never leave you.... ". You're right. After uni in Glasgow 50 years ago, I took a job on Glasgow buses for 18 months. I needed to pay rent, was just tired of academia, and needed some time to decide how best to use my education. After 18 months of driving through Glasgow Cross 10 minutes after pub closing time on Friday and Saturday nights, the bus filling to more than capacity with, nearly all, men absolutely plastered, and who had no money left to pay fares........ I just wanted to get as far as away as possible from Glasgow. So I did. I still remember how my life improved so much after I left Glasgow, so in that sense Glasgow has never left me.
thanks for sharing your thoughts...Could you please tell me - which university is better, Nottingham or GCU (Glasgow)for MS in UXID programme, in terms of faculty and employment on completing course. Please do let me know. Thanks
I was born in Toonheid (Townhead) in Glasgow ,1948, ran away in 1966, lived in New York City in the early 1980s and they are somewhat the same kind of people, straight ahead, direct, who say what they mean and mean what they say and if a person cant handle that then that's their problem.. If I hadn't been born in Glasgow I should have been born in New York City. You sound more West Coast than New York.. Nobody goes to Glasgow, we know it as Glesga, for the weather.

Nice vid glad you have such a positive view of Glasgow love it
Love how much u love Glasgow 💗
Glasgow not being a dry city is so true on more than one level!
I have travelled the world, but
lived my life in and around Glasgow
I love this city, even if the weather is crap
The west end of Glasgow is my happy place. I used to spend summer holidays at my aunties who lived just north of Kelvingrove. I haunted the museum and art gallery when it rained, which of course was quite often. Glaswegians are the best people.
Kelvin hall is the handiest subway for Finnieston, 10 min walk from there. Football days…if it’s old firm just stay in! 😆
I award you the title of Honourable Weegie.for your lovely comments on the dear green place.
Coming to experience this all ❤️
Well I moved from Kansas to Boston in 2000 and had many of the same experiences.
Don't quote me but I think it's to do with the Scottish thistle, one of the emblems of Scotland.
I love how you describe the Scottish summer weather. Our subway is nicknamed the Clockwork Orange. I am glad you chose God country to live in. People make Glasgow. Happy to have a lovely person like yourself in our town. ❤
The locals are nice! And sweet! So sweet!
I was born in Glasgow (East) and lived there until I was 21. My first and only trip on the subway was on a visit to the city when I was 56!
Excellent!
Thank you so much for this video.
It's very helpful
Glasgow is a bit like the planet Solaris.
it's very similar to Liverpool
Always thought of Liverpool being like Glasgow's twin , warm friendly salt of the earth people plus both can be mental 🏴
@@Tangerine10. exactly! spot on i know both cities very well
The kelvinhall stop near finnieston
God! I did an involuntary blub with you at the end.I'll have to get a grip.😢
Have you been to the east end yet; the Calton, Shettleson, Tollcross etc.?
Hey there,
Compared to Edinburgh, how much percentage % is Glasgow cheaper ?
Hope to hear from you soon .. Thanks
Try a train from Central to Ayrshire coast 40 mins away good day out
thanks for sharing your thoughts...Could you please tell me - which university is better, Nottingham or GCU (Glasgow)for MS in UXID programme, in terms of faculty and employment on completing course. Please do let me know. Thanks
Lovely person ! Haste ye back ❤
Where is this ky?
Thanks it's helpful
What a beautiful young lady you are, that comment at the end caught me out as well. 😢
The people make glasgow ❤
Glasgow smiles better, as they used to say..
Brilliant 🎉🎉🎉😊
I was born in Toonheid (Townhead) in Glasgow ,1948, ran away in 1966, lived in New York City in the early 1980s and they are somewhat the same kind of people, straight ahead, direct, who say what they mean and mean what they say and if a person cant handle that then that's their problem..
If I hadn't been born in Glasgow I should have been born in New York City.
You sound more West Coast than New York..
Nobody goes to Glasgow, we know it as Glesga, for the weather.
The subways are a joke should be running 24/7
A sense of community NYC? lived here 56 years, where is it?
Welcome to Glasca 😜 x
