I really love seeing someone use the 18-55 for a portrait session. When I first got my XT2 in my Fuji endeavors it was all I had and I was always surprised at how well it did. To the point now where I think it's one of the better "character" lenses Fuji has.
Wow Mitch, great work here! Gear actually doesn’t matter when you’ve got good light, a good eye, and a lovely model and you prove that here. A nice video to show there’s no excuses for not getting good images out of the gear you’ve got
My all time favorite "kit" lens of all brands. Still craving for one, since mine broke down a few years ago, despites the Sigma and Tamron similar options that all see very promising.
I was recently looking up sample images of the Canon RF 50mm f1.2 on Flickr, marvelling at the crap photos people can take with a £2,500 lens on a full frame camera. Meanwhile you produce these bangers with a £250 kit lens on a crop sensor. The keys to a good photo seem to be mainly golden hour + beautiful experienced model + eye for composition
Yeah unless you're delivering 1000's of images for 1000's of dollars to clients, cheaper is almost always better. (However, the 50mm 1.2 is the best 50mm I've ever used and it's well worth the money if you're a paid photographer lol)
@@mbismbismb of course they’re better, because he’s skilled and has good models. I’m just saying those expensive lenses can produce crap in the wrong hands and these mediocre lenses and MUCH smaller sensors can produce good photos.
I’m between the two. XT5 is my go to if I’m heading out of town, going on longer trips or just feel like using a lighter setup. GFX is going to be my work camera, can tether nicely if needed, resolution to suit any job and I personally love the look of the images I’m getting out of it maybe a tiny bit more than the XT5. The GFX is just not an everyday camera for me because of the hectic file sizes and how bulky it can be with a few lenses.
Hey Mitch, is this new profile works with all cameras? This will be great for my Sony A7C since I think Lightroom butcher the colours, does it still works with your previous preset on top of the profile?
Hey! The profile works with all cameras. I haven’t tried stacking the preset although because the profile already has quite a stylistic look to it I probably wouldn’t advise it :)
And it's much better compare to other 18-55mm brand lenses. Fugi have an aperture range of 2.8 - 4 and other brands have 3.5 - 5.6. A Full Stop of extra Light with the Fugi 18-55mm lens.

Complete bangers mate
I’ve always used primes for portrait, never thought about using a zoom lense for that

This is so true. People focus so much on gear they get distracted from practising their craft.

18 55 is good but.. your skills are just awsome. Unbelivable what you can achieve with this kit lens. This is ART.
Thanks for this video
Really appreciate that ❤️
One of the best kit lens 💪
For my 1st fuji, xt30ii or xs10?
Great portraits! So what is your current setup, X-T5 is still your main camera or you switched to the GFX?

did you use eye-af or classic one point AF?
great pics!
Awesome!

Mitch how did you get sharp images out of 18-55? Mine is a bit softy unless i downstep it lets say F5.6-F7.1
Try F10 or F11
Liked it
😊
18-55 is definetly extremely cheap for the sharp images it produces and the lightweight
