Kotobukiya really nailed this one. Megami device is queen of bishojo. The ones before asra archer/ninja are kina iffy, but susanowo and tamamono Mae are amazing models. They have the details of perfect grade, and are the size of real grade. You will not be disappointed with the quality. They’re even compatible with frame arms. I’d rather have two Susanowo than one perfect grade and that says a lot.
I started building the first one as it has been in my backlogs for quite a while. Then this arrived on my doorstep... i guess I'm building them simultaneously.
I feel the need to add this to my backlog until my skills improve. It has so much going on it seems like something to be made into a display piece with good painting and diorama parts.
I got mine preordered. Great kit and looks great on this review! I tried the building method of clearing all nubs then snap fitting and it was great. It used to feel so tiring to sand as i snap.
damn, I really like the Megami Device kits, but gosh they're so expensive and when I try to get one, I'm too late to order one... (T^T) hopefully I can get my own Susanowo. thx for the review

Speaking of the Susanowo Souen, does Souen come with the parts to make the original Susanowo but in the Souen blue color scheme? (Edit: I am dum. Saw the original Susanowo's parts on some of the runners. So that's safe to assume that we *can* build the original Susanowo.)
I'm real late, but I'll be here to say you can't because from what I saw, you don't get the original transparent parts (sword blades, circles spikes, and horns). which is the biggest killer for me because as much as the effect parts are nice, you can never "turn them off".
@@JJTheDev I can prove your statement to be not entirely true (because I got and built mine already). outside of the blade, Souen has all the parts needed to make the original, but in a slight blue-purple shade of clear plastic. a bit more hassle though because you need the original's manual to figure out how to build the leftovers.
I went check the runners and yea, the souen ver omits runner P, which is where the spikes of the regular susanowo's rings are included. I personally liked the more sharps and simple design of the original and would've prefered having the "option" to change the effects. But cool to see that at least the other transparent parts are included. For me the standout feature was the ring and sword of the susanowo, so not haing the originals of those does make me sad (though the replacements are still p cool, just not wht i'd want at all times)
Any option parts included I showed in the video. Kotobukiya does make option body parts but they are very simple, meant to just be a base essentially to build off of. Using those parts in a kit like this would look a bit awkward

Dunno if it's just the lighting and camera work or what, but I feel like it looks more, well, *gold* than most gold plastic runners I'm used to seeing. Looking forward to getting my hands on it in person. Edit: Also, after seeing the side-by-side, I'm definitely more a fan of this version. Not just because the effects give it more "presence", but just the overall lighter color scheme in general is more my style.

how long does it take to put these together do u need tools or anything?
Yes you need basic tools, and expect it to take at least a few hours. Most likely if you’re new it’ll take a few sittings of a few hours each
Nippers (Godhand SPN recommended imo) art knife and sanding sponges of various grit smoothness ranging from 400 to 8000. These are the basics

The clear parts look like they would appeal very well to the Chinese market. Definitely not my taste.
Just a little too messy from a design standpoint for me. Probably a fantastic build though.
