I realized after I made the video that I shouldn't have been trying to count injector numbers with the coils. I have no idea when the injectors are firing without syncing and injector.
You opened the way for me to fix my car. I have the same problem with cylinders No. 2,4,6,8. I will open all the wires and make sure of them. Thank you very much for this effort made by you in all sincerity...your brother from Yemen. Ahmed Taha Tundra 2016 5.7
Hope it helped but if you see no damage on the outside there probably isn't any damage on the inside. Test the wires first.
Nice catch Rob! Not too bad of a repair. ..no parts needed either! 👍👍👍
Thank you, maybe you should translate my channel to Español. Jajajaja
@@RobertDotterer hahahaha!! I'll think about that.. or maybe some of the much shorter vids! Lol 😂😂😂
I have a 2008 and has all the lights flashing too .... watching your video to see if i can learn something .... too much technology for me, but very interesting your video 👍👍👍👍
Not all my videos use a lot of technology, somethings are very basic.
Thanks for watching!
mister levou I had the same problem recently in my 2008 trd and it was all perfect after changing the battery terminal connectors. Was going into 4 low and all kinds of other stuff turning dash into a Christmas tree.
Hi Robert ,I am having exact same issue all the same lights are lighting up on my tundras dash, but you might have just given me a ray of Hope after numerous tries with numerous mechanics I will get back to you if this works out for me. Cheers
Did work out brother ?
Not sure if you monitor this or not still, 07 Tundra, MAF was really dirty due to the CAI filter not being attached at all for about a month, CEL was on, put a new CAI filter on, cleared CEL good to go then came right back with CEL. Took MAF sensor out, cleaned it, cleared codes, removed battery cables, reattached, checked codes, all good. truck ran fine no lights. turned wheel, steering wheel locked, VSC , Traction Control Light, and CEL came on. I have the bypass kit for the secondary air pump issue so i know its not the pumps, brake light and reverse bulbs and license plate bulbs are all working. Would a speed sensor possibly cause this? Never had an issue out of this truck, 340k miles.
I don't really guess without seeing a full system scan with any possible codes or looking at live data. So many things can cause that.
Man this is so funny because I have a 2007 Toyota Tundra sr5 5.7l crewmax and I love my truck. I owned my truck for 2 years now. My truck did the same thing 3 months in and I put new hub assemblies, axles, abs sensors, front and rear brake upgrade kit, newer rims and tires, exhaust, serpentine belt, front window tint, and rear bed cover. Man she looks amazing rides and handles great. Next I'm gonna put a 3" lift and upgrade the sound system. She has 120,000 miles on her and she will get out and go baby go. 🏇🏇🏇🏇
My tundra did the same thing I cleaned the throttle body and driver side abs sensor and mines works great
It couldn't be exactly the same thing since this had broken wires ans a misfire on specific cylinders.
VERY IN-DEPTH VIDEO LOOKING FORWARD TO MANY MORE THANKS FOR YOUR TIME .
Thanks for your support!

I am no expert nor am I in anyway trying to make a critical statement about anything that another guy does with his channel, but I will make an honest suggestion to you my friend. Please don't let me come off as being critical, because my channel is NOT perfect by any means, but I would suggest you try to reduce your video length a bit. It seems that many people's attention span is 10-15 minutes tops-no matter how excellent the content is. You can assume that the vast majority of your audience understands the basic aspects of the diagnostic process, but again, I am not saying that you have to do anything differently, just a friendly suggestion man😉👍.
Anyways, great video man, just wanted to give you feedback on what I've noticed after watching your videos and approach.
Nevertheless, I am by no means perfect, so take it for what it is worth.🙂
I'm subscribed and onto additional videos.
PAULY'S AUTO I kinda like the longer ones but I leave it up to me to skip ahead or x1 speed but I like seeing the process unfold rather than see the 8 min after the issue has been found it helps new techs I think to see what directions to take. Again I skip around. We could be watching Stephen Cox 🤣😂😂 instead
I'm all for any type of criticism. Some people like longer videos and some people like shorter ones. I'm not really sure what to do. All my videos are actually full length. I do not cut things out. They are all pretty much the engine diagnosis in real time mines a few minutes to grab tools or undo something. If you feel I should shorten them, I can certainly do that.
@@RobertDotterer no you do you, I'm just throwing out a suggestion. It's tough to film to begin with, so do what you think is best or what works for you man! I know that at least for me, I like to watch ALOT of videos, but it's tough to do when they are lengthy, primarily because time is limited for everyone. I just have noticed that short 10-15 minute videos tend to get more views, because you gotta remember who is generally watching these types of videos-other technician's primarily.
So for example, unless you're trying to film a how to step by step etc to test something, a short and concise explanation of the setup is generally understood when filming the test...no need to include every little detail, but if you are trying to teach how to setup a test, well now, that's a completely different thing!
Anyways, I'm not sure who you are trying to appeal to? So maybe it's just fine the way it is? I'm merely offering you my perspective as a fellow tech who understands how difficult it is to film your work and wanted to give you honest feedback!
I think everyone has a unique personality and approach, but I had to be honest with you, I tend to skip through videos when they go beyond 30min. I'm usually looking for here's the codes, here's what I tested, here's what I found, this is the diagnosis, and then if possible the final repair. I mean I have watched my own videos that got lengthy and thought to myself, well this is WAY TOO long, could have cut this out and that, because it is generally unnecessary to cover every little thing along the way; not to mention extremely difficult for you as a tech to be timely and get your work done above all else😉👍.
Keep killing it, I'll keep up with your videos man...appreciate you sharing your experience with us!
I kinda like The longer ones but I leave it up to me to skip ahead or x1 speed but I like seeing a process unfold rather than see the 8 minutes after the issue has been found. I think it also helps new techs learn what direction to take and why.
@@RobertDotterer I tend to agree with Pauly... but Jay makes a great point too. I skip around as I see fit, if it's something I'm already familiar with, etc.
I'm on the fence too. Lol. But I dig the honesty! 😘😘😊😊
where do i find that solder iron? i like it. i use the power probe one now but its a little big. thanks for sharing the scope side by side screen etc im so used to my pico i dont use my zeus scope...Jay
It's called the Ts100 soldering iron. You can buy it on ebay, Amazon, aliexpesss.i use a 19v power supply. The one I use is ac and dc and adjustible from 12v-24v
Well done 👍🏽
I love these very long videos
Keep it up 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
Thank you!
فهمت شو كانت المشكله؟ انا الي فهمته الفيوزات والريلاي بس
58 minutes,not easy Rob ! Thanks
At least it didn't go over an hour ;)
Thanks for watching!

Hi, I have a 2008 Toyota Tundra 4.7. the lights on the dash 4lo and 4Hi is blinking, VSC is on the dash and a few other. the codes say. P0328, P0333, P0419, P2440, P2442. Please let me know what I should do next.
You are going to have to get service information and look up what why the codes set and do diagnostic tests. You have to treat every vehicle different even if the have the same codes.
My truck is stuck in 4 lo with the light flashing, what could that be and how can I fix it?? It also Dosent have a lot of power pulling up hills, does that have anything to do with the 4 lo
I have a 2013 crewmax with the 5.7 4X4 recently purchased new battery and over the weekend P0307 came up so I swapped cylinder 1coil pack with cylinder 7 nothing changed so I changed 1spark plug with cylinder 7 still no change. I’m hoping it’s a battery issue causing the issue .
A battery won't cause a single cylinder misfire. It's either fuel or compression if it isn't spark.
Rob, Im having the same issues with 2010 Toyota Tundra, 4LO keeps flashing with Engine light on with two different lights
I fell asleep....twice. Just kidding! 😉 Nice catch indeed. Seems like your channel is growing. Good thing 👍
He's back!!! You have been missed.
Hey did you go to school for this ? I replaced my rack and pinion also my clock spring was broken and I put in the new I believe the light came on after I replaced the clock spring I have no clue what it could be
I take a lot of training constantly for it. Did you relearn the steering angle sensor?
I just bought one of these crew cab 4x4 has the vsc flashing and the 4hi 4 lo flashing I only paid 250.00 runs good 5.7. I figured I couldn't go wrong.
Awesome!
250?? Damn that's a great deal
@@jake-qn6zy yea it has high miles but runs drives fine.
Any chance you had a hard time starting the truck in the beginning? And also did you have excessive white smoke coming out of one tail pipe? I have the same codes and light flashing as well
I don't think there was any smoke otherwise I would have pointed it out in the video. You need to start diagnosing the truck and work through the issues. Even though you may have the same codes and same symptoms do not mean you have the exact same problem and it can easily lead down a rabbit hole.
i had the same issue with my 2007 tundra, first, cloud of white smoke, then all the lights as described, ran rough. disconnected the battery ground, waited, reconnected, was fine for a year, just did it again. time to trade in!
"What does 4lo have to do with misfire?" Exactly what I said for my truck
Toyota disables everything when they have a misfire, a lot of manufacture do this. 4lo usually involves higher load and higher rpm which could damage the catalytic converters faster.
How do you know if it is the secondary air control valve?
You can test the valve manually using electric of vacuum depending on the style and seeing if the valve opens. You can do this with the car running.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
I need that wire stripping tool... way faster than what I use.
They sell them at a lot of places.

I'm glad you liked it!
Can I ask how much you charged?
Not sure, most cars I start with 2h of testing pre-approved before I touch a car. This was filmed a few years ago.
I just cleaned my battery terminals and all my lights went off
That is because you disconnected the battery and reset the modules. You should really be careful just disconnecting a battery on never vehicles, you could end up with more issues because of it losing all its sensor aging, and adaptive values.
I see that you're mobile where are you Located

No vsc light back on?
No, it did not come back. Toyota likes to put the vsc light on for almost every fault.
I need help if you can..
I have toyota tundra 2008 5.7

Need to edit this
Hi, can you be a little more specific?
Just shorten up the diagnostic part, show the part of what your doing, then cut out the waiting for diagnosis 👍
F yeah! Great video
Anybody seen the same problem but with a p0345 code
That is not the same issue, p0345 is a camshaft sensor circuit code. I would start by looking at the signal and testing the powers and grounds to the camshaft sensor
Am having trouble just the same
Mine done same thing was a knock sencor
A lot of things can cause simular symptoms but won't cause the same codes.
Mine is a 2007
كيف يتم تغيير شداد سير المحرك
video was way to damn long, should have just shown the broken wires
How would anyone learn from that?
@@RobertDotterer you could have been little more short and to the point I think what he means.
7
What do you mean by 7?
@@RobertDotterer Do you have any video to diagnostic tow haul mode switch on 2015 Toyota Tundra
I do not, it shouldn't be that hard to diagnose. It probably is only a momentary switch with a specific resistance.
