Yes, Southern states of India mostly use rice/dal made products (very few dishes are made with maida) We make jaggery sweets and obviously, they are tasty 😋. Many use ghee more than oil. Ghee is always considered fat gaining but very few know that it's a good cholestrol not bad cholestrol. We mostly eat down (sitting on floor). Obviously observed in Northern states of India too but it's still more common for us. We mostly have rice which people think it's fat gaining but it's actually needed for us to face the weather here... And rice is staple food because the weather here is suitable for growing rice crop... It's actually healthy if we eat brown rice (rice without removing the fibre/peel).

Being spicy( clove , cinnamon , cardamom , etc..) and hot (red chilly) are different. Steamed idli is universally accepted as very healthy. Payasam ( dessert ) can be made from white sugar and jaggery as well. Nowadays people have started using kaupatti in sweets ( Palm candy I think so )

They name it punjabi food gujarati food but when it comes to South Indians they simply call it South Indian food. The food here has its own unique flavours with respect to the state . Why can't the team do some research and educate the Anchor.
Romba nandri, Vidyamma🙏🙏
It's ofc not spicy... it's tangy
Not too tangy, sweet or salty, everything is balanced quiet well

Yes, Southern states of India mostly use rice/dal made products (very few dishes are made with maida)
We make jaggery sweets and obviously, they are tasty 😋.
Semma Part da ......❤❤❤Taekook Moments Super da
Palakkad folks represent!❤
Most south Indian look so healty with beautiful skin and slim bodies.
I hope to go on holiday there as soon as i am able to walk.
One of our best holiday was in Kerala. Fantastic 😊
Adding jaggery to a dessert doesn't make it healthy. Jaggery & sugar have the same Glycemic Index
Processed white sugar is definitely a lot lot more unhealthy. Actually jaggery does not even get counted as unhealthy in comparison to white sugar.
Being spicy( clove , cinnamon , cardamom , etc..) and hot (red chilly) are different.
Steamed idli is universally accepted as very healthy.
Payasam ( dessert ) can be made from white sugar and jaggery as well. Nowadays people have started using kaupatti in sweets ( Palm candy I think so )
So true...proud to be a south indian brahmin😎
Still harping on about caste in this day and age
@@revanth3508 koi apni identity aur ancestors ko leke proud hai usme tujhe kya problem hai😂
@@revanth3508 That's rich coming from an Indian citizen where caste based reservations still exist to this day. The governments themselves discriminate on the basis of caste😂😂😂
@@rog5asus416what’s reservation got to do with this topic. In front of God the creator who created all of this universe with all his creations one who is born will die . That’s the only absolute truth. The soul that is a little spark of the almighty enters into the body . Only the foolish will be proud of their identity in this world . That identity ends with death and the body is left behind while the soul continues its journey . No one can predict what will happen in the next birth . That judgement happens on what karma you do in this janma. Read the Bhagavad Gita .
@@rog5asus416 whats reservation got to do with this ? Read the Bhagavad Gita. You are not your physical body . The reality is that the imperishable soul that is a small spark of the almighty enters into the body and you are on this earth acting out this drama of life . The physical body will die and it’s foolish to be proud of something you have no control over . Based on your karma in this life the soul will enter into another body and again you have no control over this. There is no superiority or inferiority as far as the soul is concerned as it’s part of the almighty itself . The ultimate purpose of life itself is god realisation and nothing else
I agree south indian food is literally healthy ❤
Don't promote outside food
Promote cycling and walking
Start your day with self cooking
Start your day with cycling
This is why I am so obsessed with south indian cuisine.❤❤❤❤from Northeast
If u are talking about spice of south, i think u haven’t been to north-east. King of spice
What Ms Vidya Balan had said is absolutely the truth. I too have my roots in Palakkad district of Kerala
It's very sour as well.. 😢
Vidya's answers are very crisp am to the point❤
❤
My food routine has South Indian breakfast and North Indian dinner. Rice for lunch. And i agree with her on the spice part. Anybody who prefers spicy food need to know their taste beds have become incapable of enjoying softer flavours.
Vidya is very very very Berry Berry SPICY
Love u Vidya ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Finally South Indian food Won❤🎉
I love what Vidya Mam is wearing ! 😘✨🌷🙂
I am a punjabi but I simply love South Indian food !! 💕💕
Kerla❌ kerala or keralam✅
Same I am from pallakad and born and brought up in mumbai
Superb.....well said 👏👏👏👏
Also idli dosa utthapam etc are all fermented foods...and south india is not just confined by these...we have different varieties of foods famous from different regions
Like hyderabadi biryani, haleem(ofc it's world famous)
Tamilnadu and Kerala always special ❤
I've never heard anyone say that South Indian food is unhealthy, I've always heard that it's light and healthy, that's why it's good as a breakfast option as well!
Any South Indian here.. plz click like here..
For a gluten allergic person like me, Dravidian (Tamil food or may be group it as South Indian? ) food is the best. Most of the sweets are made with rice and Jaggery which makes it easy for gluten allergic person like me. I am going back to my roots, Dravidian food for healthy and yummy food.
There's no Dravidian food in India!
@@shankar1dynamo694 Dravidians are from Indian subcontinent. You are commenting on a video about Dravidian food.
@@samiandsonas594 Mr. Samiandi,, it's only Tamil sappaadu, kerala saddhi, andhra food or karnataka food. Specifically udipi/mangalorian food, chettinaadu food etc from different areas. There is no Dravidian food. It's all Indian!!

World's no1 best food from Kerala and tamilnadu
Both states are great and thirdly Karnataka raagi kali traditional ❤
Thats why i always choose eating south indian food outside my home or state because thats the safest food i can have for me, because I can’t tolerate spices even tho i crave for but i just can’t tolerate and endup getting sick or food poisoning if i eat outside, so i always eat dosa idli this are my all time favourites and i always go for them even if i go to a restaurant
Nobody has myth that South Indian food is 🌶️ spicy
As a gujarati living in Kerala, this is actually so true but idli, dosa, appam is not a heavy food and can be eaten easily. Especially with chai.
I loved the parts before ending, especially the scenes with georgios. I loved his humble character.
Being a North indian from bihar...... I love south indian food 😂..... Truly in taste south indian food is heaven, also after eating you don't feel heavy......
Yes .We mostly used palmtree jaggery and sugar cane jaggery for sweets .its very healthy for everyone
Yes off South Indian food is very much healthy and comfi after eating , it is healthier than many of North Indian food. Spicy food🥵 and hot food are again two different tastes. As a nutritionist I can vouch for Dosa, Idly, Vada, Samber, Uttepam, Uppma, Rasam, and so on 😋😋😋
Thank u for ur good words.. Love from palakkad, kerala❤️
I'm big big lover of south indian food since i was in my school days ❤❤❤now also i eat south indian food
I am a south indian and I confirm that most of our sweets are made using Jaggery. However, Jaggery also has high glycemic index.
Love south Indian food, drlious and healthy.i agree totally with Vidya Balan.

Absolutely addicted to Idilies and Dosa.😊
