  • The renowned concert pianist Artur Schnabel famously said that Mozart sonatas are "too easy for children and too difficult for adults". Anyone who has tried to play these wonderful sonatas will know how challenging they can be. The K545 sonata is described as a 'Sonata Facile' but the slow movement in particular, is anything but easy to bring across convincingly

That’s the term I was looking for to describe Mozart pieces - deceptively difficult!

Quite a relaxed rendition with direction, purpose. Quite granular execution of dynamic contrast and this elevates the intended interpretation.

@sordini66 fabulous playing excellent, I love playing the piano myself, iam humbly speaking a self taught pianist from the age of 15yrs old, iam 53yrs old now, I love playing Mozart and Beethoven sonatas, I can play the sonata C major k545, at moment I am playing the 1st movement, so I need to go back to the 2nd and 3rd movement also, I've fairly recently managed to teach myself to play the Sonata in f major k332 3 movements, and the k331 theme and 6 variations, and rondo alla turca, ( learning menuetto and trio making good progress 😀) and I just recently am also teaching myself to play sonata k309, I managed today to play the 1st movement, and a little bit of the 3rd movement, music and being able to play the piano is a wonderfull God given gift to have, greetings from wales uk 😀

@@adrianthomas6244 Many thanks for your kind message. It sounds like you have made excellent progress without any formal lessons. I am also a self-taught pianist and have now been playing for 50 years and am still learning of course. I am also Welsh and grew up in the Pontypool/Cwmbran area although I have now been living in Germany for the past 17 years.

@sordini66 greetings to you from a fellow Welsh man 😃, I just had a great play on my digital piano, played a couple of loverly pieces by Mozart Beethoven and Scott Joplins rags like the entertainer and maple leaf rag 🍁, and went through the k309, making progress everyday with this sonata humbly speaking, today I particularly loved playing the f major sonata, the beauty of the 2nd movement is incredible, while the first movement is very exciting and interesting to play, especially in the middle section where Mozart makes use of the circle of fifths with the chords afterwards fab, and the virtuosic, 3rd movement really enjoyable, we are blessed by God to have this fab gift of being able to play the piano, all the best from Wales uk 😃
