    Trust me, the City of Columbus doesn't care about the folks out there in that area. That's why they approved the new terminal. Just as folks have seen over the years, this will adversely impact that community, it always does. There isn't so much as one Greyhound terminal in an upscale neighborhood anywhere in America.

    Cheers to the Mayor for bringing vibrant diversity to the Hilltop. The illegal Guatamalans and Haitians being bussed up from our Southern border will only add to the rich tapestry of diverse vibrance that is our strength. Soaring crime is a small price to pay for such cultural enrichment.

    Crime is in every cities🙄 get a spine Greyhound is got some weirdos and decent people mixed in it is what it is and it's not Greyhounds fault the prior company that owed it let the Greyhound company run on auto pilot deteriorate and sold off the bus terminals over the years flix bus Greyhound new owners have quite a mess to clean up it's got to restructure Greyhound with improvements better service new bus terminals and designated bus stops pay drivers better to hire and retain them and improve customer service can't wave a magic 🪄 and fix it in a day Amtrak was like that now it's getting better but not right away it's getting better but just expect like any other transportation methods it's gonna have these issues in the USA.

      W...T...F..? So you want to be stuck on a bus or other mode of transportation that is controlled by the government, instead of, in your own car where you can go where you want, when you want with very little limitations? You're either very young or completely disingenuous. All you're espousing is that we should give up one of our *penumbra* *rights* .Maybe you should read more before you decide to trudge into politics because all you're attempting to do is limit your own right to freedom of movement. As Friedman would say, “I'm on your side, but you are not”. ✌️

      Also, lets do a thought experiment. Let's say the government came out tomorrow and said, “From this day forth, the government will no longer subsidize any transportation industries and we will no longer pay for any road being constructed in America. Form this day forth it is illegal for any government agency state or federal to subsidize any facet of the transportation industry”.
      Do you think we would stop moving around? Do you think roads wouldn't be built? What about this. I would say if they never built roads in the first place, you would be flying to school today... #ThinkDontListen

    Say what? Greyhound has actually added a terminal some where? How can this be? For years and years now it’s all been about Greyhound closing every single terminal it can and discontinuing service to that city or area. I am shocked and amazed they are adding or re-adding service. Maybe there is actually hope that greyhound and the national cross country bus network might actually begin to improve.
    Maybe. They figured out that if they want to fill their buses, they actually need a place to go in order to get on and off the bus.

    • @flyoverkid55
      @flyoverkid55 11 месяцев назад

      You're not particularly bright. Greyhound has terminals where riders can " get on and off the bus ". How do you suppose anyone uses their service?
      The issue isn't access, it's suitability.

      @@flyoverkid55 and you are? Greyhound has closed and discontinued services all over the country. Try and find a place greyhound goes that’s not along a major interstate route. I have watched greyhound close most of its terminals in my state and the one right next door. I have tried to book greyhound to go to a number of places. Nope. Nada. They no longer go hardly anywhere.

      @@americanrambler4972 So what? That wasn't the point of my comment nor the article. If a business can't make money providing a service, they have to change what they're doing.
      Get a grip.

    • @DashTransit
      @DashTransit 11 месяцев назад

      @@flyoverkid55 Actually the original comment is right. Just recently, Greyhound closed a major terminal in Philadelphia, PA, one of the top 10 largest cities in the US, and moved it to a street-side terminal creating chaos. This was after they closed nearby terminals in Norristown and the other two "terminal" points in Philadelphia including one and North and South Philadelphia. Greyhound has been closing a lot of terminals, which has been effectively pushing riders onto services like Megabus, Amtrak, and so on.
      Sadly when it comes to transportation, if there's too many cuts, it pushes riders away. So yeah Greyhound cutting all this service ends up pushing riders to find other means to travel, which leads to more cuts, which leads to more riders leaving, so on.
      Obviously the riders can't just "accept it and move on" because that leaves them stranded, so the best bet for these transportation companies like Greyhound to get more customers, is to run more buses (even if they're empty) to encourage riders to return. Otherwise, all this cost cutting is going to run them out of business.

    • @flyoverkid55
      @flyoverkid55 11 месяцев назад

      @@DashTransit You're suggesting that Greyhound is cutting service in spite of steady consumer interest. Sounds ridiculous, but it's their company. I'm saying that there are other reasons they are closing locations. A number of their established terminals were in downtown locations, and those properties are proving to be quite valuable.
      Moving to a location outside of a city center allows for Greyhound to either sell those existing properties at significant profit or to avoid increasing lease terms. Either way, it's their choice.

  • @americanrambler4972
    @americanrambler4972 11 месяцев назад

    I looked up this terminal location, and it’s located right on the edge of an industrial area, just literally 1 block from the freeway interchange and a truck stop travel center. It’s not a quiet residential area. It’s adjacent to an older residential area. And I suspect there is a city bus route that runs right past this greyhound location. Other than being a small property, this looks to be a pretty decent location for a smaller size greyhound terminal.
    It’s actually in a usable, accessible location for both the buses and for bus riders. And it is 5.5 miles from down town. It appears to be fairly easily accessible for a large part of the greater Columbus metropolitan area.
    Overall, o see this terminal as a credible public asset. I for one would like to see Bree hound add a terminal like this one in by city in a location similar to this one. I can think of one suitable location within 1.5 miles of my house and a number of possible locations within 5 miles.

      @@donzender9008 I would be happy if Greyhound returned to my town. Greyhound buses won’t fit on my street because it’s too narrow and corners are too tight for the buses to maneuver in. But there are several locations within a mile or two of my house where they would easily fit. And they are close enough to city bus access, medical services, stores, restaurants and hotels. So yeah. Bring it on. Just make sure it brings proper terminal support and maintenance with it. That is one of my biggest concerns about how Greyhound is run currently.
