It's hard to imagine you not being a perfectionists (at any time), but I'll bet your standards are so high that you don't even realize it and look at things you've done as _imperfect_ that others would see as divine. I'd be too honored to sit at your tea table or just sit in your living room having tea or brandy, whatever, b/c you have a gracious quality.
I support you no matter what you eat - okay, that might be an exaggeration. However, I assume dogs, humans and family pets are not part of an English omnivores diet.
@@gaslitworldf.melissab2897 I'm not trying to be mean or facetious but I see the comment like yours about “being honored” to be with someone on RUclips (like NF) as you've expressed. What's to be honored by? He's a regular Brit sharing what's his regular life. I'm just curious.
Is this looks like the Best way cut the bread firsttime they lovingly fargo ND? Those flowers in your pot on the table what the name of the plant 🪴 😍 I just love that could tell me what flower 🌼 it is ? Thank you 😊 💓
@@donnawalther7370 The pink flowers on the table look like roses.
For what it is worth, may I offer you my tips from experience making tea sandwiches. Always use whipped butter and spread on bread lightly. This helps prevent the sandwiches from becoming soggy from the filling. Make larger sandwiches, wrap well in plastic wrap and chill in fridge until closer to serving time. Then cut them with serrated knife in a sawing motion. Once cut and arranged on serving plates, cover with a slightly damp tea towel and the some plastic wrap over top. This works for pinwheel sandwiches also. As always, a beautiful vlog. Thanks Nicolas🙏🏻❤️
I do a lot of these things also.
Nice tips. Thanks. I am upping my game♡
My mother-in-law taught me this.
Lovely tips! Thank you ❤
Lovely tips ❤
I learnt so much.
Nicolas, I construct all my sandwiches with the crust on. Then I place all the sandwiches back in the bread bag. I refrigerate overnight and a couple of hours before serving I can slice the crusts off and using a serrated knife cut the tea sandwiches. The sandwiches are firm and much easier to cut. Hope that helps!
That’s how my grandma taught me .. I always put them back into the bread bag .
Thank you for the tip!!!!
Yes I always cover the sandwiches with wrap as soon as possible so the bread doesn’t get hard. Back in the bag is much the same thing. I also refrigerate and cut with a serrated knife. Works so well!
A sharpe strait edged knife works best for me but love the idea of refrigeration. Thank you
Yummmm 😋💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
You should have your own cooking show❤
A couple of floral tips from a professional; never use scissors to cut a stem. By doing so you are sealing the end of the stem which makes water uptake difficult, therefore shortening the life of the flower. If you don’t have secateurs for cutting, then use a very sharp knife. Don’t throw away the leaves of the Flower-just put it in with the flowers for a more natural look.
Thank you Les Fleurs. I’ll buy a sécateur to cut my flowers.
Thanks for the info. Very helpful.
I’ve been stripping the stems below the water line.so the leaves are above the water all these years. I will try your method. Thanks for sharing.
I use pruning sheers, very sharp knife and works wonders, no leaves below the water line.
@@ameliaclark5792 Yes you are right, never put leaves below the waterline. However you can put a few leaves above the waterline just to give a full or lock.
I suggest chilling the sandwiches whole and cutting with a serrated or sharp straight edge knife before serving. Thank you for caring to prepare a nice little tea. I’m certain it’s appreciated by your guests and viewers.
S Sparozic would you cut them with a gently sawing action rather than pressing straight down with the knife? I’m thinking the sawing would be best but not sure. Thanks in advance!🤗
Nicholas did that last time he made the sandwiches as he mentioned in this video and the filling was all over the place, watch that video. What he did this time was neat and tidy
I bought you a coffee last week! Another beautiful episode. I feel compelled to support your tea parties... In a previous life I was the supervisor for Afternoon Tea at Marshall Field and Company in Chicago. I've made hundreds, if not thousands of tea sandwiches! The keys to tea sandwiches are to have very sharp knives and to use day-old breads from a bakery: 2 to 3 types of bread: white, pumpernickel or a marble bread. Have your baker slice them lengthwise at the width you want to use. Make your fillings, cover and chill them. Chill your watercress and cucumber under damp paper towel or a tea towel. Steps are: FOR SAVORY: using the meat, vegetable and egg fillings pick contrasting breads. Butter your bread so the bread does not become soggy with wet fillings. Generously fill each bread pair, chill them and stack like sandwiches and cut off the crusts and slice them with that sharp knife. Clean the knife between fillings. FOR SWEET: Make a flavored (seedless fruit jam or vanilla) creamed cheese and use a fruit bread or cake. I make a fig or golden raisin bread but bakery bought works too.
Be sure NOT to use packaged bread. If you are "sawing" your sandwiches, your knife needs sharpening to prevent squished, pinched edges. They should he square on all sides to show off your fillings. Hope this helps 💞
Thank you so much for your support and kindness. Great tips x
I came straight to the comments as I knew there would be lots of helpful advice here! Really helpful, thank you.
I was born and raised in north suburban Chicago. I always heard great things of the Marsha fields tea time...never had the chance to experience it though...feel like I've been there watching nicholas!
Gosh, wouldn’t we all be thrilled to sit down to a Tea like that with Nicholas? Everything looks delicious and so beautifully presented and no doubt the conversation would be delightful. 😻
That would be so fun!
It's nice to know that you don't have to go out and buy one of those three tier plates for all your tea treats. Nicolas has set a beautiful table using pretty dishes which are also functional and add interest. The underlying message is, if you have nice things, don't put them in storage--take them out and use them!
Yes! I inherited the family china and silver and am always looking for ways to bring them out and use them.
I so appreciate that you do everything by hand, you create such a wonderfully relaxing ambience, which would be destroyed by electric appliances.
So true.
I'm packing a bag and flying to the UK for a visit with NF. He doesn't know it yet but 😂🤣
😳😄👌
🤣
I’d love to join you!!
Ok
Sounds fun!
My boyfriend’s birthday is on Sunday and this will be perfect for a nice picnic in the park. His birthday falls on the 4th of July and we never go out because all the restaurants here in America are closed on that day. We will go to a party his friends are throwing later on. But any party we go to is primarily a 4th of July party and so is not fully dedicated to him, even if we were to throw one ourselves. I think having a cute little picnic using some of these recipes would make the day special for him. Thank you!
Poor boyfriend. Can you show a picture of him feeling sad on the 4th of july :)
What part of America are you in? All restaurants are open in these parts. Never heard of such before.
Near Los Angeles. Odd. Almost all restaurants that you would want to take a significant other on their birthday is closed on July 4. Except of course places like McDonalds. Or Denny’s or IHOP if you do want to get fancy.
Get your bakery to cut the loaf slices lengthwise, fill and stack as many layers as you like, then cut crusts off and then slice crosswise to form finger width sandwiches . Very fast. Butter keeps bread from getting soggy from sandwich contents. You can also make circular sandwiches with these long slices of bread by putting filling along length of bread slice and then rolling it and slicing it crosswise to make spiral circles. Peanut butter on long slice of bread with whole banana sliced width of bread and then rolled up and sliced cross wise is nice for children. banana is in middle of circle and peanut butter forming circular lines .
These are great tips
i just gave some of this advice.....the bread from a bakery is also denser and you can have it sliced to any thickness.....i also have them cut off the crusts, which i save for croutons. so much easier.
Your teas always remind me of my departed aunt who was from London. She introduced me to tea when I was about 5 and I always looked forward to it when she visited. It's so difficult to do a tea now without her. I still haven't brought myself to the task. Both she and my uncle, who was my blood relation are both gone now, but even he, a gruff former military man, loved her teas.
Such a lovely story. Perhaps if you go ahead and do it, even more and happier memories will come back. :-)
You should do it as a way of honouring her. It may not be exactly the way she did it but she would probably be pleased you tried, don’t you think.
@@sheilaenglish7329 yes a memorial of sorts. pass on her ideas about tea to the other guests.
To keep the sandwiches moist, I cover them with a damp paper towel before storing in the refrigerator. It makes such a difference. I so look forward to your video each week and am also looking forward to when your shop will be open to purchase a few of your items for my own home.
This is what my Mom used to do!
I surround mine with a mixed leaf salad then cover the plate with cling film. My Mum taught me this trick to keep the sandwiches from drying out.
That is a fantastic tip. Thank you so much for sharing.
Such a good tip thank you for sharing!
Refined and elegant. Gentle and quiet. Sweet and savory. I pretend to be a guest at your table. I love your exquisite taste and royal demeanor. No one I know would appreciate this. Sometimes, I do set the table for myself and iron beautiful white linen tablecloths and napkins with flowers and candles. I’ll put on music I’m in the mood for: romantic opera, soft jazz, instrumental dinner piano, and maybe a music box piece. I crave this lifestyle. Thank you for inviting us into your home for tea. My heart is full.
Great video. Just a tip, baking is more precise than cooking so using Tablespoons and teaspoons of table cutlery provides too much variation. You need a set of measuring spoons. By the way, the monogrammed napkins are very elegant.
Wow, it's like watching a bygone era, so elegant and stylish. Just finished watching 'Belgrave' in which they show afternoon tea as a refinement to entertaining. You bring us back to being refined😍 love it and thank you.
So well said
The problem is that you push the knife down before cutting. You have to cut cut cut, never push the knife or you will get that bread issue you are having. The knife should be not just sharp, but "I'm going to stab a dragon with this thing" sharp. Then simply cut (move the knife back and forth, very softly). The bread will recognize how awesomely sharp your knife is and will separate itself giving you a perfect cut.
I think the serrated knife would help too. I agree pushing down the straight edge squashes the edges of the bread.
When my mom made finger sandwiches she ALWAYS buttered the bread (keeps it from going soggy), firmly wrapped the "loaf" of stacked, filled bread in plastic wrap, and refrigerated it for several hours. This firmed up the sandwich stack which made it much easier to slice each "sandwich" into thirds or quarters. The extra time chilling really helped.
SLICE! Draw the perfectly sharp knife across the sandwich.
As we busily prepare for the Sabbath each Friday, taking a break to enjoy your inspiring videos enhances our appreciation of simple pleasures that make our lives and the people in them so precious. Thank you for your beautiful work - we enjoy these moments you share with all of us. Wishing you and yours Shabbat Shalom and every success! The Barricks Girls
Shalom! From a Messianic Jewish fellow on the east side of the USA in the south. I'm here in the late evening on the Sabbath just now as darkness falls and spreads. BTW. I work around some of Nicolas Fairford's recipes to keep kosher. His overall styling and personality are so very relaxing and elegant while being informative...no one on RUclips compares to him.
I say, this is all so splendid and quaint. I can't decide which is more scrumptious, the tea or Nicolas?!
this episode brings me back memories of my english mother organizing afternoon tea with her girlfriends. It's not usual here in Switzerland but i love it, and i will organize one soon. Thank you so much Nicolas!
What a beautiful tea table. I've heard if you dampen a knife with cold water it makes a cleaner slice of cake or bread. I've also seen some cooks use a baking piping bag to pipe the filling into the sandwiches to help make them so neat. Love the recipes. Thanks Nicolas for such lovely videos and congrats on the over 100K subscribers.
Lovely video Nicolas, as always. I must admit that I am quite envious of whoever will be invited to your tea party. I hope that they realize how very fortunate they are!
Hello Nicolas...I am a 73 soon to be 74 retired lady (or pensioner as they are called in your neck of the woods) with 4 grandchildren and a sweet husband of 40 years. Happily I stumbled on your channel today. I was taken by your demeanor. So calm and your voice so soothing. You have a beautiful flat and being a decorator I appreciated your cozy, tasteful touches. Wishing you a happy birthday (one day after my son's) but you made your own cake...someone should make your cake for you! Thank you for your great tips. Happy to have found you abd have subscribed! Best wishes in 2022! Lorraine
Hi Nicolas! I just came across your video this evening...I really love scones and you made it look so easy to make them! I will be looking at more of your videos as early as tomorrow Lord Willing. Please continue to enlighten and inform us through them. ❤❤❤
Absolutely love this episode! I had my husband and son watch this with me. We are doing afternoon tea at home for the 4 of July party. It’s too hot to Barbecue here it’s like 100 plus degrees outside.🥵 A family affair making these delicious tea sandwiches and desserts. My husband and son cut the bread help me make the sandwiches! And of course the desserts. I will even make those cookies you made with your neighbor Tracy. As usual your table setting is perfect and gorgeous! I love how you use fresh flowers 🌸💐 So thankful and grateful for your easy recipes. You need to have your own tv program. Call it Beautiful Life Style with Nicolas. Sending love and hugs 🤗
Hi Nicolas, a revolutionary tip from New Zealand.😅 An electric carving knife is a game changer for cutting your afternoon tea sandwiches perfectly and absolutely no squashing of the bread or contents! 👌
You can spread and fill them with the crusts still on and then stack them ready to be cut. With your hand placed lightly on top simply use the electric knife to cut the crusts off the sides then into halves, thirds, or even triangles for more dainty faire. I simply love using mine for this purpose. The blades are serrated and you do not ‘saw’ like using a normal knife as the two blades do a sawing action so just hold the knife handle and move it downwards as it cuts. I enjoy watching your videos.🫖🧁
I still think your first video on afternoon tea is lovely. This one is much more detailed but you have done wonderful videos from the start. We all learn as we go.
I agree, the first tea videos are perfectly charming!
Thank you so much for this Nicolas - my daughter was supposed to be graduating this summer but her ceremony was cancelled due to Covid. We want to surprise her with an afternoon tea but weren't sure how to go about it, this is just wonderful! Thank you so much, now we can celebrate in style! x
Nicholas, you really do make life more beautiful...a half hour with you is a highlight of my week...you are simply an amazing person--from your beautiful and simple ideas to your gentle soul...your voice lulls us into calmness...your peonies are exquisite...you make life worth the effort...the table is perfect...your mini pavlovas are fit for a ballerina...you need to purchase a star biscuit cutter--because you are a star...the gold leaf garnish is an amazing touch...I am sitting here with my Japanese Chin sitting on my lap and dreaming of having tea at your party...what an incredible space you have created to be able to relax your guests and have a memorable afternoon...your guests know that they are special because of the extraordinary care and attention to detail that you bring to every memory that you create...much love to you for what you do for us...dts
This was a tea made to perfection Nicolas.... But everything you do is genius 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
So kind - thank you x
I love how generous you are with the filling Nicholas! One could achieve a terribly dainty tea sandwich with a tiny bit of filling but who wants that? I'd take a rich filling over daintiness any day! Having said that, your aesthetics are on point - love the table layout and treats!
Popping the egg salad in the fridge for an hour or so also helps it be less messy when making/slicing the sandwiches.
Looks fabulous....as a frequent maker of egg & cress sandwiches, I would always add a teaspoon of salad cream to the mayonnaise..it just adds a little piquancy to the mix. The table setting is divine...love that Wedgwood design, so pretty.
I'm American-- may I ask what salad cream is?
@@visitingfromsantafe1329 I googled it. Pale yellow 25-50 % Emulsion of oil, water, egg yolk, spirit vinegar. Heinz makes it. Also found recipe to make homemade version online.
@@visitingfromsantafe1329 i think we call it mayonnaise!
I love the napkins with the flamingo 🦩! So sweet.
You really do excel in making life more beautiful! What a fabulous tea party you have set up. Wonderful!
What a splendid video! One of my favorites!
So glad you enjoyed it!
hear hear
I had no idea until now what scones were. My mom always called 'baking powder biscuits'. It sounds so much more elegant the way you say it. They are such a comfort. What i do is fold the dough over and roll it out again, and they come out so beautifully with delicate layers inside. Thats the secret to getting them tall and flaky.
Scones are not flaky. They are crumbly. I think you are talking about something different to English scones.
Salmon and cucumber sandwich’s are usually a must for afternoon tea party too,
This was a lovely ambience you created Nicolas .
Salmon is gross
I too found that cutting single slices of bread in half first was the only way to keep light fluffiness intact. I made lunch for my 102 year old great aunt every Sunday for years. And always took a buttered sandwich for her to eat later. She enjoyed skipping a nursing home meal in favour of simple good bread & good butter! Happy tea time everyone!!
What a gentle spirit. I love how positive you are and how you look to find joy in elegant and beautiful undertakings in your life. I’m glad RUclips recommended your channel to me! You have a new subscriber. All the best to you, and I can’t wait to see how your channel and brand develops.
A perfect 10 Afternoon Tea Table! I helped my friend run her tea room for over a year and I must say you did a splendid job preparing the food and setting the table for tea. Your parents must be so proud of you and all that you have accomplished, Nicolas. You will go far in all you do because you do it with love.
He is a perfect presenter. I cannot take my eyes of him, do captivating. God bless you son
The trick with the serrated knife is to be very gentle and use a sawing motion
The serrated knife gently tears the bread.
Actually ... give a pizza cutter a go. You just roll through your cut, straight, no crumbs. I do this when I trim up pie dough and I don’t see any reason not to zip those crusts off the same way.
It is a beautiful afternoon tea at home. Greetings from Helsinki, Finland!
Comments from Aotearoa New Zealand:
1. In terms of kitchen knives I suggest you look at the range of Pallares Solsona knives. They're carbon steel not stainless steel so they have to be wiped immediately after each use. The benefit of these brilliant knives is that they have narrow blades that can slice white bread without the 'squish' effect. Also, if you use the paring knife to chop the boiled egg the texture is way better than when using a fork.
2. Salt the cucumber slices as you assemble the sandwich, not before.
3. Crush the Maldon salt before strewing some pinches over.
Nico - I know you don't mind such feedback! I'm enjoying your VLOGS!
Thank you for sharing Vegan recipes. I love being Vegan, however, sometimes it is nice to feel normal by having meals like tea. Fun Fact, we had the most beautiful Vegan Tea on Vancouver Island at the Famous Empress Hotel. They prepared everything Vegan just for us.
I am looking for an easy vegan clotted cream recipe. I wish I still lived in Victoria and could ask the Empress chef!
Hi. I love interior design and food, I'm half German and half Russian, and I live in Japan. 🌸
Your video heals my heart so much. thank you! I will come again🌿
Beautiful table. The tea sandwiches look wonderful, and the scones delicious. Thank you Nicolas.
I'm not a gardener by any means but the previous owners of my house planted 2 types of peonies and I absolutely love them.
I am very impressed with your determination to do the absolute best with your cooking and the presentation(which is almost more important than the taste) We taste with our eyes first! Keep learning and perfecting your craft, and it will pay off.
I do think you could run a range of home-wears + home -wares.... Aprons + arm gauntlets for all that hand whisking fun / painting/ DIY.... And of course - Everything to do with teatime. Tea sets - table linens - spoons - jams/spreads - stands - tea cosies - sample set of different teas - how to booklets etc... Thanks to you i'm sure many have been turned back to the endearing ritual of tea-making and not just grabbing a grotty giant mug of instant coffee. - Teatime is time for pause - time for us....
I like dill pickle, cream cheese and ham rounds. You spread cream cheese (with herbs, if you like) on a slice of bread. Place a bit of ham or salami down. Then a pickle and then wrap it. Slice the tupe of bread and pickle and you end up with rounds. Very good. Cute
Hi Nicolas . BEAUTIFUL food & table setting . Love all the natural colours & textures . Thank you for sharing these delicious recipes ! Mark (Toronto) 🌷🌼🌻🌺💚
Slice cucumber using a vegetable slicer on the side of the upright cheese grater. It’s the part that is used to make potato crisps.
A bowl of homemade salted potato crisps is beautiful with afternoon tea. Takes the sloppiness away from the sandwiches.
Potato chips at High Tea! My mother from London, England would be mortified.
What an incredibly beautiful afternoon tea table you set! The glasses with the green swirl are great! Really like the white basket weave plates with the green border. The sandwiches, scones and cakes all came together for the perfect tea! Your white and navy outfit looks good on you.
A tip for the scones is dip the cutter in flour before each cutout. They won’t stick. Everything was lovely and looked delicious!
Nicolas, thanks so much for your videos. I am going to have a horrible day today but I have a calm start here with your beautiful world.
I use bread that has been sliced lengthwise. Butter, add the fillings, wrap and put in the fridge to chill. Cutting it into fingers is easier when the bread is slightly chilled. Gently saw back and forth with a serrated knife to cut neatly. Don’t press down.
Love cucumber sandwiches! Mint leaves are a good idea that I’ll have to try; sounds very refreshing.
Hi Nicolas. Please forgive me for getting off the topic of your video. When you mentioned sharing with the neighbors, I was touched. True refinement is born of a thoughtful spirit. An unselfish one You have that Nicolas. You are refined. Beautifully.
I just love all of your videos! I enjoy the exact same topics you speak about on your channel, from decor, to entertaining guests, to wonderful homes and gardens, to amazing people. Also, I am so excited for your tea book to be available for purchase. From how you've described your vision, I imagine it will be beautiful and informative. I can't wait to see all the extraordinary things you will bring to the world! You are a lovely person!! Thank you so much!!
Worth the wait, you make it all look so easy, and put together so well.perfect!
Heavenly. Really enjoyed the live stream last week too. Top tip for keeping sandwiches fresh is to soak good quality kitchen roll, wring it out then place over the sandwich tops, put cling film over them and they will keep happily in fridge for up to 24 hours. Have a lovely weekend Nicolas xx
I can’t wait to put together my first afternoon tea! I just got a beautiful and elegant china set, and i came across this channel while trying to educate myself on how to host a proper tea party. Honestly, probably my new favorite channel to watch! Thank you for sharing all of these beautiful things with us. 😊
Lovely relaxing yummy wind-down, just before bedtime here in the UK. I tried to concentrate, honestly I did, but one eye was glued to that vase of beautiful peonies all the way through!
Unintentional ASMR😴
@@lauragwillim1055 hi Laura, could you please translate that into English?
@@lindamccann3880 Have you heard of ASMR? Autonomous, sensory, meridian response. It's a sensation that you get in your body like tingles at the top of her head or down your body, or just a feeling of deep relaxation with certain "triggers". These can include, someone brushing your hair, the sound of crinkling paper or plastic, listening someone talk is a soft voice, or whisper explaining something mundane or even a role play but in a very soft, relaxing voice (this is my trigger). If you search ASMR in RUclips you will get many videos. My favorites are Gentle Whispering, Whispers Red, Ting Ting, and Latte ASMR. Unintentional ASMR is like what our friend here is doing. He has a lovely, soft, calming voice and he is explaining a nice benign topic that puts one in a relaxed state. Another example people use for unintentional ASMR is old videos of Bob Ross the painter. Hope this helps. Check out some ASMR videos. They are addicting and great just before bed or if you are having anxiety or difficulty sleeping.
@@lauragwillim1055 Thank you for that. Way over my head but I sense that NF has, like me, had a rough lockdown and his videos have helped us both to survive in different ways. Roll on the 19th!!
It's all so elegant. A lovely break in the afternoon. Enjoying a tea such as this is my favorite thing to do!
As soon as I saw your new post I stopped what I was doing to watch! This was so fun to watch you prepare for tea, everything looked amazing and you took such care in putting it all together, you are such an inspiration! It was so cute to see your apprehension when blending your scones with your fingers, made me smile! Thanks so much for making my afternoon a lovely time Nicolas!
Indeed, Nicolas, an afternoon tea worthy of nobility. This was a joy to watch and I shall be trying these recipes soon.
Beautifully done! So welcoming and refreshing!
Two chocolate cakes for four people ? That’s what is called a ‘ bun fight ‘ 🤣
This was just for demo purposes
What a beautiful tea and such yummy food for the eye as well as the palette. I don’t remember anything negative about your previous video on tea sandwiches. You are such an humble person and accept other’s suggestions so graciously. I like the way that you decided to create another video on creating a tea, despite the fact you felt your sandwiches were less than what they could be on the previous video. Others would have been reluctant to do so. Sending love. ❤️
I especially loved the scone making. I’ve always wanted to try and you make it seem so doable. Thank you.
Oh Nicolas. You always make everything look so simple yet elegant . It was so delightful sharing afternoon tea with you. Everything looked so delicious.
Absolutely beautiful!! Everything looks so delicious and beautifully presented. I would never have thought of using the bamboo style cutlery or even the basket weave plates with Wedgewood - but it all comes together so beautifully. I really loved this. Thanks Nicolas. I am inspired (can't wait) to have friends in for tea.
I look forward to making your recipes. They look simply divine.
Thank you for sharing!
Absolutely worth a wait for your Friday videos! Thanks Nicolas!
I love that you always want to do better! Everything you do is lovely and it is so enjoyable to watch and learn from you!
I 🧡💚💙 the way how you made every dish with love and no fancy gadgets . And a table setting any guest would love to be seated at just stunning. You really know how to make family and friends feel extra special when coming to tea . 💋
Your videos are always a delight, a refreshing change of pace from the pedestrian offerings on RUclips. I look forward to seeing many more great topics and solutions. Cheers and greetings from New Orleans.
Nicolas I've made your dill and lemon butter and cucumber sandwiches for an afternoon tea I had for my nieces 30th birthday they were an absolute hit with everyone ,I'm loving today's chicken one which I'll have to try.Thank you so much I love your vlogs.❤
Nicolas, as usual everything looks terrific. The scones and sandwiches not only look good but are delicious 😋 glad you included a recipe using plain flour instead of self rising. Thank you 👋
Well I will make tomorrow morning. your scones recipe, everything is so delicious, and so much inspiration thank you Nicholas love you
Another chicken sandwich which is delicious is shredded chicken, crushed walnuts, dried cranberries minced, dash of sage powder and mayo, salt & pepper, Mix all together and start building your sandwiches. I have seen it made also with shredded chicken and chicken stuffing mix (cooked) They to added cranberries and crushed walnuts in the mix. Great for a Fall tea with roasted chestnuts. Nicholas your videos are very inspiring and you have a talent regarding social get togethers. Thank you for sharing. :) For a change the same recipes are good to make pinwheel sandwiches using wraps. So many ways to prepare food and they are all so delicious. I will have to try the prawn and avocado tea sandwiches, They look so delicious. Beautiful Tablescape!
Watching your videos makes me sad but it also gives me hope. You're great at what you do and I enjoy watching you but it also makes me realize that I don't have the most wanted luxury in the world: time. Time to make beautiful dishes, time to sit and enjoy, be present and exhale 😔 I feel like life is passing me by and your videos are the only thing that make feel something. Keep up the good work ❤☘🙏
I teach afternoon tea for about 30 years. I love your videos so much. You bring in so much care in to everything that you do. We butter, room temperature , the bread to seal the bread so that it doesn’t become soggy and then wrap it in damp tea towels to keep them from drying out while they are in the refrigerator. Also the butter kind of helps everything stay together. I’m not sure if people still do that. I love that you shared about having cold hands to create the scones. Thank you so much for making life more beautiful! Merry Christmas to you and your family and to everyone here that celebrates it✨💕✨
Loved this so much… I kept checking how much longer the video was going for because I didn’t want it to end…thank you Nicolas it is so soothing to watch your videos …everything looked yummy.
Your tea looks so lovely. The next time you make chicken salad, try adding curry powder, red onion finely chopped, dried cranberries, a little bit of mango chutney, finely chopped celery and mayonnaise. It is delicious!
😊The table is absolutely, pleasingly beautiful. I love the way it blends in with the painting on the wall. Can't wait to see what you have planned for next week!🥰
So nice! Usually do a Tea like this when there is a Big Royal Event to watch ...which means having freinds come over at 5am - time difference. I use the Union Jack for a Table Cloth. Make everything the evening before and the morning is just put the food at and steep the Tea! Great Vlog as usual!
Nicholas, love your luncheon napkins! They are like you, fabulous! I can hardly wait to put an order in for them.
This tea looks beautiful, Nicolas. I’m sure that your guests felt honored. Well done!
I so enjoy watching your videos. Everything is so elegant. Keep up the fantastic work!
Hi Nicolas! My mouth was salivating when you're making such a total delicious palette for tea time. (My favorite is the egg sandwich and chocolate cake). The table setting was simply gorgeous! Altogether...total tea time bliss!
Just as serene and beautiful as your first tea video thank you for being such a gentle light as always❤️❤️❤️
Such a beautiful end result at the table and thank you for filming it so we could all enjoy it from every angle. Wish I could have been invited to a fabulous tea party like this! Loved every bit of it!
Yum🌺 Love the prawn avocado sandwich as well as the scones. Thank you so much for sharing your recipes and afternoon tea with us.
Thank you so very much for this elegant education into constructing a tea party. I plan on doing something very similar by month's end for 2 very close friends coming to visit. Your sandwiches will get repeated for my table as well as the scones made as you so nicely did them. My small dessert cakes might be different, though the chocolate cake is very appealing. I can't wait to spread my tea service to be used on this special occasion. My table will be out on the rear deck (weather permitting) and formal with the tea service on a cart and also bright using colorful summer plates, glasses, mats, tablecloth, napkins, and flower arrangement. Because of you I now feel secure in doing something special for my friends. Again, thank you.
Nicolas, your table settings always look so beautiful and inviting⚘🏵🌹🥀🌻🌼 I am looking forward to making these wonderful recipes. Thank you for always inviting us into your beautiful world.
Have a great weekend Nicolas!😁
Oh I’m looking forward to make these
recipes Nicolas.
Beautiful job thanks so much🥰
I had a three day weekend and didn't get a chance to watch until Monday evening but, boy was it worth the wait. What a truly beautiful video. Those sandwiches look absolutely delicious as do the pastries! I will definitely be trying them even if it's one scrumptious thing at a time and just for me. Thank you for this delightful and insightful video, Nicolas!
So happy to hear you enjoyed the video!
Thank you for your lovely video, I love afternoon tea! If you swizzle your cutter around in a little pile of flour each time before you cut out a scone, it'll help the scone come out onto the baking tray xx
