Lol, I really appreciate this video, thank you very much 🙏🏻. If you're still answering comments (kind of doubt it because this was a year ago) how much did you have to pay initially? I'm really considering accepting, but I don't know if I have enough.
You get what you pay for. Any honor society that accepts freshmen with a 2.3 gpa is a scam. Give me stinking break. Ok maybe scam is too much. But cmon man an honor society that accepts first year students carrying close to a “get out of here” gpa? Cmon man. Oh and it’s 175 now.
No dumb questions here! That’s actually a good question. It would probably be a lengthy answer, but I’ll try my best to keep it short. Your academic and professional resume can be the same thing. You will need an “Education” section on a professional resume that you will use to get jobs. If you need a resume to get into a certain college or college group/society, it will more than likely be different than your professional resume unless you haven’t worked anywhere. NSLS can be listed under Education included in a paragraph about your school. Or in a separate section dedicated to your extracurricular activities/organizations. If you were president for your college, you will definitely want to include that in it’s own section. NSLS can go in this section.
I was sent a fancy letter by my university that I was nominated by my university to join NSLS. From my understanding, your school has to nominate you in order to join NSLS.
It requires only a 2.75 GPA... it's not worth it... there is nothing special about it. Aim higher and go for national honors societs in your degree, education, etc.
So i am currently in community college and I got nominated for this. Would I still get scholarships if from this program if I transfer to a University?
Hey, don’t know if you’re going to see this but I’d like to ask: if i were to join nsls do i have to put in work? Or can i just register with the invitation, do nothing, and be considered a member? im a pre med student and dont really have time for all that, but I think it would help my resume out.
You’ll need volunteer hours & to attend a couple events. I wasn’t pre-med, but I was really busy in college. Therefore, it took me like a year to finish all the requirements
I just got an invitation to the NSLS and was wondering if they give scholarships to universities not just community colleges? Also, congratulations on your acceptance to The NSLS!
Hello! Is the NSLS accredited educational institution where you can earn 4 college credits when enrolling in Part 2 and 3 worth it?? Im in the middle of applying and I don't know if I should enroll for that or not?..
I’m not sure how to answer your question. You will have to pay money for the trip, but they’re always scholarships & grants available when you study abroad. So, the price your chapter quotes you may not be the price you pay. Lol I’m not sure if my answer helped
Thank you! I just ignored the email from my college because I thought this was the same program as “ Honor Society” that used to spam me 24/7 in Highschool.

No, I have never received job information through NSLS, but work leads, pretty much. I have one reference networked through NSLS (Being transparent). However, I never used their resources. A department head of my company looked me up, saw my 1st video and reached out to me!
When she says “attend meetings”, means finding time to watch a prerecorded guest speaker seminar.
I can probably find the same speech on RUclips 😂
wait so the "750,000" scholarship is not really true? unless you qualify for the scholarship? so really its not even wirth it...
I’ve been invited twice now with my 3.7 gpa. I think I will accept it now.
Good luck!
GMA in STL said she is proud!! thanks for the review!
Question, Mariah Jackson. Do You have to travel to attend the conferences?
No you don’t, but I’m sure they are some optional conferences that require travel.
@@MariahJackson Thank You, I'm all in.
I don't know what made me qualify but I got an invitation
Idk if I should with covid how will that work
I completely understand! Email your chapter about virtual options. If they are none, protect yourself first!!
I just got invited through mail and it specifically said it’s going to be virtual now ☺️ Granted, I am in Online Courses because of the nature of my degree. Cyber security. I believe it will all be virtual now. But as Mariah said, I would reach out and ask.
Yes it’s a business (just like your school) but if you’re someone who’s trying to study into a specific profession I think joining the NSLS could help. If you have no volunteer experience or organizations under your belt, for some reason I do believe having something is better than nothing when it comes to strengthening your application packet
I am so upset I ignored the email from NSLS.
Just what i was looking for appreciate the content and perspective
Lol, I really appreciate this video, thank you very much 🙏🏻.
If you're still answering comments (kind of doubt it because this was a year ago) how much did you have to pay initially? I'm really considering accepting, but I don't know if I have enough.
Late reply, haha. But $80, I believe. Hope I’m not too late!
This is the fakest comment section in the world who bought all these comments
thank you for your comment, I have my confirmation that I should not join this chapter.
Ikr, they all sound the same
"Oh I was Sooooo skeptical but your video helped Sooooo much I can't wait to spend $90 and become a Member!"
Is the National Society of Leadership and Success' executive and admistrative's certificate worth it?
You get what you pay for. Any honor society that accepts freshmen with a 2.3 gpa is a scam. Give me stinking break.
Ok maybe scam is too much. But cmon man an honor society that accepts first year students carrying close to a “get out of here” gpa? Cmon man. Oh and it’s 175 now.
Can NSLS help me get accepted into a university abroad? I really want to study abroad in South Korea. Would it help my chances more?
NSLS on a resume...(stupid question, but I'm kinda dumb so....) is this like an academic resume or a work? No one ever explained this too me.
1.5 million+ members yearly
$95 sign up fee
$150 million in membership revenue
$400,000 in scholarships per year??
Sounds very ‘blue pill’ to me
All their revenue is going to random celebrity speakers instead of scholarships that could actually help the students.
I was nominated twice. I missed the deadline for the spring. I just renominated for the fall
I just got an email so I'm watching this first
I just saw your other video , you should be a married woman now! Congratulations ! And thanks for sharing on the leadership induction!
i would pay top dollar to watch wendy williams do a nsls speech
I was sent a fancy letter by my university that I was nominated by my university to join NSLS. From my understanding, your school has to nominate you in order to join NSLS.
Apparently they send it to nearly everyone, since there is bo way 3.3 gpa 17 years old (me) would be invited to a legitimate honors society.
How are the meeting? Do you get assigned any homework?
It requires only a 2.75 GPA... it's not worth it... there is nothing special about it. Aim higher and go for national honors societs in your degree, education, etc.
“Is it real? Yes.”
Me: “So I am special!!”
I still don’t feel special btw
So i am currently in community college and I got nominated for this. Would I still get scholarships if from this program if I transfer to a University?
Hey, don’t know if you’re going to see this but I’d like to ask: if i were to join nsls do i have to put in work? Or can i just register with the invitation, do nothing, and be considered a member? im a pre med student and dont really have time for all that, but I think it would help my resume out.
You’ll need volunteer hours & to attend a couple events. I wasn’t pre-med, but I was really busy in college. Therefore, it took me like a year to finish all the requirements
@@MariahJackson how many hours do we need to volunteer? And what kind of events are there? Or is it just attending and listening to guest speakers?
@@markparubrub8504 I would like to know as well
This helped thanks a lot!
Let’s say you have high student loans but are considering graduate school. Would this organization help make that happen?
I’m a highschool senior taking college classes and I got a nomination. Should I still consider this program?
Yes it is 100% real because you have to work hard for that and maintaining good grades
thank you i have just gotten the email from my college
Thank you! Very helpful.
I just got an invitation to the NSLS and was wondering if they give scholarships to universities not just community colleges? Also, congratulations on your acceptance to The NSLS!
Same!
I am nominated for a scholarship and I'm at Capella University finishing up my internships for my Masters in Clinical Psychology.
i joined yesterday, im excited
Thank you for this video! I just got an email from them and on the fence.
Hello! Is the NSLS accredited educational institution where you can earn 4 college credits when enrolling in Part 2 and 3 worth it?? Im in the middle of applying and I don't know if I should enroll for that or not?..
Hi I had a quick question, I'm about to finish college is it even worth accpecting it now?
Na, you graduate Spring 21 or Fall 21? If it’s Fall, then definitely not. You need at least a year in my opinion.
@@MariahJackson yeah I graduate spring 21 but I’m thinking of going for my masters but would it help or no?
@@xhellokitty97x it may help with scholarships! Go ahead, accept then check out the scholarships! Report back to let me know what happened!
With traveling opportunities is it just group travel, you still have to pay for the full trip ?
I’m not sure how to answer your question. You will have to pay money for the trip, but they’re always scholarships & grants available when you study abroad. So, the price your chapter quotes you may not be the price you pay. Lol I’m not sure if my answer helped
Thank you! I just ignored the email from my college because I thought this was the same program as “ Honor Society” that used to spam me 24/7 in Highschool.
I am 45 years old, and I am still asking my parents for the fee. ;-)
Thanks for the advice!
thanks for making this video
Are the speakers paid to participate?
Hey Mariah, I got the email and thought it was a scam or something. Thanks for the heads up about this.
how much is the payment?
How much did you pay?
I got a letter (“invitation”) saying $88
I GOT ONE TOO! But it said $95
I was inducted 2 years ago so my fee was $80.
Asmita Kharel yo I got one too but idk if I should join
Kevin LKG me too $95,I haven't decided if I should join
They also write ✍️🏾 out letters of recommendation for jobs for you free. It's been a while since I've seen all the stuff they do for their alumni.
Did it help pay for your classes
What honours society were you duped by?
I appreciate you, I think ima try it out❗️
