Lovely vlog guys, and so good to hear Taormina pronounced correctly for once on RUclips. A few points: If you’re going to Taormina, Catania - the island’s main airport is a far better choice - Palermo makes no sense, even if you’re hiring a car. In Italy, it’s a ‘piazza’ not a ‘plaza’ - wrong country! Taormina is more expensive than you suggest. It’s Piazza IX Aprile. ‘Scusi’ or ‘Mi scusi’ - Spanish doesn’t work in Italy. Granita + brioche = breakfast. You can in fact walk down to the beach down the mountain paths. Taormina is not a beach location, it’s a city destination with a beaches nearby; besides Isola Bella (and others at the bottom of the funivia), you can also take a 10 minute bus to the long sandy beach at Giardini Naxos down below that you can see from Piazza IX Aprile. 2/3 days is probably not enough; you can base yourself here for numerous trips around this part of Sicily, including Giardini as mentioned, and the nearby Alcantara gorge, as well as further afield. One of the better Taormina vlogs, we go every year and think it’s very special - you got that over in this trip report; thanks for a respectful and interesting vlog.
Excellent video. It would have been nice if you guys filmed the restaurant that you ate dinner at. Did you use any of the outstanding Splendid Hotel? Like their gym, sauna, spa, pool, coffee shop, gift shop, restaurant? I love Italy never been to Sicily. I have been told that there are fine coconut white sand beaches and in Sardinia the nearby little sister island. Thanks again.
I knowwww, we just honestly were so exhausted that we forgot about filming the dinner lol. As for the Hotel, we did not use their amenities no, especially since we were a bit crunched on time and/or were always out exploring. We never usually eat at hotels either and prefer finding local restaurants. The breakfast was included though, so we made sure to enjoy it and it was great! :)
Great video! I saw the Sicilian AirBNB video, but not any on the Valley of the Temples, Cefalu, or Catania, which you referenced going to. Did I miss them?
White Lotus did not ‘…put this city on the map’, it’s been one the European Grand Tour since the 18th century, and has been Sicily’s premier resort since the beginning of mass tourism in the 20th century.

it starts at both the bottom of the town where the beach is and the top of the town.
at 1:09 of the video you make a mistake, the view is of the sea not the ocean, the Mediterranean is not an ocean, greetings from a Nisseno
oops haha, nice catch!
How many days did you stay?
3 days
I am surprised you did not mentioned anything about white lotus and how they put this city on the map.
We didn't even know what white lotus was, we had to google it haha

Looks like a town for grandpa's
what about the grandmas?
Mmm. If you consider yourself the considerate tourists, please consider your clothes when entering a church.
