Inside the market, we had the most extreme and insanely delicious street food in Palermo, Sicily.
We had steamed octopus, a sandwich with Frittola and Stigghiola.
Moving on with our street food tour in Sicily, Italy, we couldn't miss the famous massive Arancini stuffed with ragu'.

In Sicily, Ricotta used for making cannoli is usually made with sheep milk, which is different from the usual ricotta you can find anywhere in Italy (made with cow milk). This makes a HUGE difference

Love Palermo, it's such an underrated food city and has tons of character. I'm not gonna lie, the Panni ca meusa took some getting used to for a first timer... 😅

My step-mom's parents are from Enna, they took me and my dad on their family vacation back to Sicily a couple times in the early 1980s, got to see Mt. Etna sort of erupt, it shot sparks out for awhile, pretty cool. I remember the food the most, everywhere we went there was awesome food, lucky I have a high metabolism, I could eat and eat and eat and never gain a lot of weight. Step-Granny Brienza was damn fine cook, so was my Granny Roberts, a baker who did a lot of hearty meat & potatoes type dishes from the UK and Ireland, they taught me so much about cooking that I've become a sort of food snob, can't eat McD or KFC without thinking "I could do it better".

little tip for Arancina: different shapes means different flavors: rounded means ragù, oval means ham, mozzarella and butter(no ragù, white rice). Other shapes: depends on the place where you are, you have to ask to the guy.
Bullshit. It ALWAYS depends by the place where you buy them.
@@locked01 I dont know.. anywhere you go, if you ask for a ragù one or "carne" you will get a rounded arancina, about the "burro" one usually is oval, but sometimes they will give you a drop-shape/cone-shape one.

Amazing video. It has made me miss Palermo. I used to visit regularly around 20 years ago. I went last year and I was amazed at how much it had changed. Pedestrianising the centre has changed everything
I visited Palermo for the first time last October and it was amazing. What was it like 20 years ago? Even the locals told me that the centre wasn't like that just 8-10 years ago because of the pedestrian zone.

Awe. I love it. Thank you. My family's home city, always nice to see. You did a great job with most of the hits (was waiting for them to put pamiggiano on the milza though! I guess it depends from area to area.. A couple of things for hopefully a return episode, sfincione, pasta con le sarde e finocchio, and gelato con la brioche. Not all necessarily street food, but necessary, none the less. lol
