Hi Ludvig! This week this song was in my Spotify radar, I listened to it many times since it's great and I like it much. Now I've just put Pierre to my favourites as started to listen to his other songs! Jonathan's reaction was honest I've smiled the whole song again with him! :)

Practically, the song is about a popular toy for many Swedish kids, back in the days. A toy steam machine. On a deeper level, it is about having alone time and calm down in a nice way. He experiences too much of parties where he needs to be social, smile all the time and he simply needs some time alone. And down in the basement he has his old toy steam machine. When he runs it, it makes him calm.
It is about retreating to get some mental peace. :)

Pierre's deep voice is among the deepest among artists that have ever gone popular. There's only a select group of people I know of which can sing that deep, they all happen to be Russian choir singers... so in that respect Pierre is a legend. He took the Swedish people's hearts with his voice.

His son released a new song last year, from an old casette tape his father had recorded home at the kitchen table, with just a guitar. The son produced it, and added singing.
"The first time I heard the result, I got teary eyed. Now he lives again, the voice is back, the one no one can imitate. It´s fantastic to sing with him", the son said.
You can check out "Jul i Sahara" if you like. It´s not a Swedish classic, since it´s just released last year, so it´s nothing to react to, but if you like to just hear this special voice again.

    Here's the translation to English:
    At home, they like parties
    With pomp and circumstance
    With tuxedos among our guests
    I smile and move away
    And after a few hours
    Everything is a big fuss
I then seek a quieter level
That's when I go down to my basement
    Where I live more seldom
For there I keep my old steam engine
I feed it with meta tablets
    Listen and forget the time
Have a glass of wine in the steam from the engine
    Many days are dull
    And many skies are gray
If the next day is the last
I prefer it to be blue
    But should something happen
    That no one can control
I know quite certainly what I'll do
Then I go down to my basement
    Where I live more seldom
For there I keep my old steam engine
I feed it with meta tablets
    Listen and forget the time
Have a glass of wine in the steam from the engine
Then I go down to my basement
    Where I live more seldom
For there I keep my old steam engine
I feed it with meta tablets
    Listen and forget the time
Have a glass of wine in the steam from the engine
Then I go down to my basement
    Where I live more seldom
For there I keep my old steam engine
I feed it with meta tablets
    Listen and forget the time
Have a glass of wine in the steam from the engine

This dude made swedish versions of american Country songs. His Swedified version of C.W.McCall's "convoy" is both epic and hilarious ("vägens vänner"), as well as his cover of "The Gambler" (Kenny Rogers). He died tragically young.

Haha I wasn't ready either damn that was a deep voice. By the name I had no idea what the song was, then as it started I recognized it and definently at the chorus but I must have heard people sing parts of it or heard it a long long time ago. Also had no knowlage of the artist so loved getting to know about him but sad to hear how he died. I remember the Estoniakatastrofen, that it was on the news and that a lot of people died but not that it was 800! I was only 12 back in 1994 so I probably didn't follow the news that much but it's absolutly something I remember.
About the audio I still do not think it as good as it was without the mic at the start of the video but then it got better and great volume on the song.

  • @larswadefalk6423
    @larswadefalk6423 11 месяцев назад

Thanks for your true reactions. And Yeah, that was the thing about his voice. It was certainly deep but still held the tone. Usually, we know that black people has a naturally deeper voice than white, and one wouldn't expect that from him I guess. But you know, there's a deeper story about him rather than his tragic fate on Estonia, he had a lot of material to release and was about to do a comeback. Luckily his son found the material after many years and digitally remastered and fixed it all. His memory is preserved and so very appreciated.

  • @pon1
    @pon1 2 года назад +2

This deep voice is a feature in and of itself! Just listening to this deep voice can probably help people with depression feeling better (or at least comfortable). I agree with your assertion that it's not a banger, it just isn't that. But it's such a special song, nothing like it really. I think he did some song that got even deeper than this, something to investigate :), great reaction as always :)

Never heard this before, was awesome! Very fun to see your reaction to that bass of a voice!
Feel that the technical stuff is better in this video compared to the previous one. No camera lagging at all.
The only thing i'd suggest further would be trying to level the volume on yourself and the music you play. Your voice and the added BG-music was at a lower volume so i had to turn it up, but then the song was at a louder volume so had to turn it down.
Not enough of a gap so it hurt my ears but i tend to have a pretty low volume on with my earbuds.

His manager who was supposed to pick him up was one of the people interviewed by the news crews on the morning of the estonia sinking at the terminal in stockholm.
