      @donbionicle Год назад +5

      27 hours after doing 70% of the side content, so you could probably cut that down to 12-14 hours of pure story. Which is by no means bitesized in this day and age...but still.

      Then what do you consider bite sized? An hour!?
      That's 27 with 70% of about 300 missions. And I guarantee they did a ton of grinding. That and it's a PSP game so it was designed to be played in short sessions.

      @Jeannie Love Something like West of Loathing or Shadows Over Loathing that's about 6-12 hours (story to 100% completion). Still an enjoyable RPG, but definitely more "bite-sized."

      Very fair observation! It's only bite-sized compared to its brethren like Kingdom Hearts, and the game has a slightly reduced price point to try to match the smaller length.

      @@ChromeColossus If anything that seems like an issue, I imagine the cost is more to reflect that they would be the HQ models and textures for the trilogy for the most part and saw this as a good asset recycle and using a modified version of the psp crisis core source so dev costs and time would be much lower than a new project.
      If it was because of length is makes little sense as it is only marginally shorter than most folks ffrp1 playthroughs and a quality 6 hour games is worth more than a bloated poor one.
      To tie price to length as a consumer feels like a self deprivation to me.

    No connection to Remake? Hmmm. Considering how much Remake is tying in elements like Zach and (probably) more from this game, I'm not sure I'd quite say that. Maybe no direct connection, but knowledge of the characters and event sin CC will certainly make for a more enjoyable Rebirth, I'm willing to bet.

      Part of me was hoping that the ending would be altered in a way that would tie in with Remake, leading up to Rebirth. But either way, I didn't have a PSP back then so I never got to play this game. The question now is.. do I fork over $50 to play it during my Christmas break from work or do I wait until it goes on sale in a few months? But what upsets me the most is they didn't fully remake the game
    Should have just stuck with the FF7 remake gameplay and made the exploration and maps more open and interesting as they are not limited by psp power now

    Honestly, it's by far the worst 'kinda' mainline FF. A boring cluster truck in terms of story, combat and level design. I was very surprised by how bad it actually is and how much wasted potential it has. I have no nostalgia for it as I never played it on PSP but I played OG7 when it came out and also FF7R. If CC would have been my first FF I'd have never touched another again. XIII wasn't as bad as this for me. CC left me bored out of my mind.

    So, it's good for those who either haven't played the original, but want to, and those who want to replay the story. In my case i'm neither, and the combat in my eyes felt like absolute dogshit (at least if put up to modern game standards). I think i'm just gonna sit this one out, at least until i want a refresher of how the story went or something, but so far since the combat is shit, there's 0 reasons for me to play something for the story, while i already know how it'll end. Also, i thought the cutscenes looked lazy and funny... now i know why... good thing they aren't charging full price for this though. That'd 100% be a fucking scam.

    The reviewer says this dosnt link to the new remakes but that’s not exactly true as this sets up the backstory for the first FF7 and by the look of it the first FF7 happened in the past of the remake (time travel can get so confusing when you have to start talking about future events as happening in the past) so crisis core sets up both the original FF7 and FF7R.

    Before watching: All I want to know is if this is still a prequel to FF7 or if they changed it to line up with FF7 Remake's version of events. Speaking as a complete newcomer to Final Fantasy, I got FF7 Remake because I thought a remake of FF7 would be a perfect first FF game for me, only to be disappointed when it turned out to actually be some weird alternate-timeline sequel thing that is impossible to follow without knowing FF7's plot. Combine that with Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity's false advertising a year later, and I'm just sick and tired of alternate-timeline games, so I just hope they didn't turn this into an alternate-timeline.

      he never said that the games don't connect, he said it's great for those playing crisis after the main ff7 entry getting to now experience things from the enemies side/perspective of shinra soldiers (kind of like the empire in star wars or templars in ac) and that if your first experience is crisis, the fact that it's set up as the beginning/prologue of ff7 it still works, the devs themselves also said as much...that said yes if u do play ff7 after then u will go in knowing who some characters are, thus some moments not feeling as mysterious or surprising, but in a way crisis will then instead feel like the curiosity for u and u will still have some "aha" moments once u get to 7 albeit just in a different order...of course it will feel more impactful if play the main entry and then finding out more about some characters and their past in crisis...personally i always play based on release order, as it's more in line what the devs/creator intended and how things actually played out for the more authentic feel...reminds me of the discussion everyone had with the yakuza series, similarly yes yakuza 0 can still be played if it's your first time being it's the origin and all, but again then going in the rest of the yakuza games u lose some of that mystery behind the characters, but 0 in itself being your first time will be mysterious and fresh compared to those already having played yakuza 1 through 5 (at the time) ya know...oh well up to those late to the party to decide
