- I am very excited to hear what is to come from the new Pyromania Anniversary release, especially with the 'demos'. Until then, maybe I can introduce to you something you may not have heard before. Phil's complete outro solo from after the fade out of Photograph. Thanks to the video game Rock Band, which is also the source of the instrumental version I am playing over, we can hear the full extent of what Phil played. I've been meaning to make a reference for it for a while, so here it is!
I'm tuned to standard but I raised up the instrumental track by 50 cents.

Hands up if in the 80s you turned up the volume so loud on the Photograph outro that the start of Stagefright blew your speakers. Totally worth it.
Dude, you just played one of my favorite guitar riffs ever. Photograph has been my favorite song since it came out when I was 9. And half of the joy listening to that song is getting to the end to hear that outro. And Steve's outro on the Hysteria tour was phenomenal. I was 20 ft away watching him do it. It was effortless.
You nailed this.
Easily one of the best Phil solos
Without doubt one of the greatest outros ever, regardless of decades. A stunning piece of guitar work.
Photograph was the first Def Leppard song I ever heard and ever since then it has been my all time favorite song. I love everything about this song. Especially the vocal harmonies and the guitar overdubs in the chorus. And how can I forget both the guitar solos. Which I think were well written and well executed. This to me is the perfect pop rock song. Amazing work as always.
YES
You're so good, you made me think, "I really gotta listen to Def Leppard more often."
Always thought in general it was weird hearing more going on in the fade. Like whats going in I wanna hear more!
Isn’t that the magic of a great song- They leave you wanting more. And so you listen over and over again. I was 10 when my mom got this record for me in 1983 and this song is in my DNA… Years of blasting it on 11 and I still can’t get enough.
I think it fits the mentality behind the song: the longing for an icon who isn't there. All I've got is a photograph.
Sounds great Ben. I much prefer Steve’s solo during the Hysteria tour but your covers are exceptional!
I love the version of the final sólo that Steve did on the show the round in your face
Me too, that's my favourite version. Be sure to check my covers and tutorials on that. :)
awesome.
I can listen to this on repeat 24 hours a day. For decades I only wondered !! Thank you for this :)
Absolutely top class as always
Super cool like always. ❤
🤩 just breathtaking beautiful My king 👑 always wanting more 🎸🎧 cheers🥂 your journey fan always 🎶🎶🎶
Great Job Ben!
Another good one.....
Pure class 🤘😎🤘
I love this so much! Nice one dude!
Nice job dude... Good taste as usual!!!
You definitely have some of the best Def Leppard covers. Have you ever seen them live?
Thanks! Yes, in 2008 and 2018 in Glasgow.
Now you have to do a version with both this and Steve’s ride out solo like you did on your Stand Up (Kick Love Into Motion) video which is sadly unavailable for us Americans to watch anymore
Listen to this song too much, lol.
I discovered the original ending while playing RockBand 3 about 12 years ago. I loved the solo, but hated the way the unmixed drums sound.
I know it’s a drum machine, but they sound so artificial compared to the album version.
Amazing!
Maltian cross?
Thanks and yes 😁
Bro no way you’re still doing Leppard covers😭😭 honestly respect the dedication😂😅
Of course, why would I ever stop, especially if there’s new things to share? 😅
That's why I hate fade outs on music.
So, the outro solo is in the key of e minor?
Yeah, the chorus progression is in that key.
