Dudley's child being a wizard was always my bit of fan fiction. Seeing Dudley accept his son or daughter being magical would show how much he'd grown as an overall better person. And it would let us know that at least Dudley survived the war. In fact, through overheard conversation we could've learned the fate of his parents as well. This could easily have opened a relationship on some level between Harry's family and Dudley's. Imagine how The Cursed Child could have included this subplot.

Dudley having a wizard or witch as a child would have been very interesting. Not only would it have given Dudley further chances for reconciliation with Harry and really stuck it to Vernon and Petunia, but it also would have allowed for a more complex view of magic as seen from a muggle's perspective.
Dudley never had any positive experiences with magic, partly because his parents were as anti as they could be about it, but also because he was a bullying git for a good chunk of his early life. Now, having to accept the wizarding world in his life for the sake of his child, he would have to familiarize himself with it to a point. Perhaps there would have been things about it that he would have liked? If he till liked sweets in his adulthood, then Honeydukes certainly would've drawn his eyes.
Also, he or his kid could have acted as a bit of a stand in for an objective view of magic. While the wizarding world is full of wonder, it doesn't always make much sense. It isn't constantly developing like the muggle world, but remains rather stagnated, to the point that Hogwarts is using textbooks that hasn't been updated for at least 50 years.

I think we didn’t need a chapter in Draco’s perspective in order to sympathize with him. Throughout the books, and specifically in HBP we see an incredibly vulnerable Draco and we get an idea of his inner musings. He is way more than just a bully, that much has always been clear.

    • @BrainyBlonde21
      @BrainyBlonde21 2 месяца назад

Yeah, plus it would have been very weird to suddenly cut to a totally different POV and then never do it again. I think the only times that happens are through Harry’s Dreams and the opening of Half Blood Prince, but somehow that first chapter being kind of a prologue with Snape and Narcissa makes it less jarring.

6:10 I don't think a little sister for Hermione would have worked well, and definitely not in the movies. She would have either outshone or been in Hermione's shadow, becoming a burden for the canon. We already have that dilemma with Ron so it would bore the audience to duplicate it.

    • @dihydrogenmonoxide7056

There's a third option: Lil Sis the black sheep. Ron developed a fatalist outlook: "Everyone else has done it, so what's the point." Little Robyn, nicknamed Puck, could have demonstrated another outlook of what a person overshadowed by family expectations could achieve. Which begs the question: what could a motivated Ron have done with his love for chess?
I imagine somebody that could have possibly gained the Weasley twins' interest, to her swot sister's fond exasperation. Little Puck grew up watching Hermione being bullied and excluded by her peers, so she didn't reveal her own brilliance as openly as Hermione did. Puck likes to keep her cards close to her chest and only display them when it benefits her or the people she cares about. Although she still likes her books, Puck fixates on music, sports, and potions. She becomes more of a social butterfly than Hermione, and questions everything. She's VERY interested in how muggleborns exist. But she keeps that one close to her chest. Not a popular hobby. Closet Slytherin, but people that pay attention wonder...

I think the editor is wrong, I think the wizard/muggle relations for Sirius Black would be a bit of a better choice for his hiding space so that he does not have to feel like he has to be trapped as a guardian to his ancestral home all the time and especially after having had to spend 4 years of dodging the authorities and living in somewhat poor conditions while on the run after 12 years enduring imprisonment and the disbarring aura and presence of the Dementors and it would help him to remain inconspicuous and not have to feel like he has to include himself on missions all the time and Sirius would've had a higher probability to stay alive longer for his 15 year old godson.

As a first child desperately wanting the approval of all authority figures, beginning with her parents, Little Sis would have grown up watching Hermione being bullied by her pre-Hogwarts peers for being an unapologetic swot, possibly making choices not to reveal too much about her own intelligence, thereby creating conflict between her and the rest of the family. Hermione might envy how easy Puck(another Shakespeare reference) makes friends, while Puck admires how successful Hermione is academically, and envies her close relationship to her parents. Hermione might feel responsible for Puck, while Puck is frustrated by the smothering, especially since Hermione began with a social handicap. Puck becomes fluent in sarcasm and rolling her eyes at her annoying, pushy sister, while Hermione becomes frustrated by all the scrapes Puck gets in.

Right? If Rowling was concerned about what new stuff she could bring to the idea of vampires, I'd love to know what she thinks she brought to the idea of werewolves. Thematically it's the same concept.

    • @BrainyBlonde21
      @BrainyBlonde21 2 месяца назад

@@OllieNorthoverit was probably just logistically easier. Maybe the conclusion was, “I’m not breaking new ground here, werewolves have less barriers to worry about” it’s easier for a werewolf to be around so it can be more of a twist (only needing to accommodate a full moon, not the sun), and then him going berserk without his potion can be a big moment. Also, I think werewolves are generally seen as more sympathetic creatures because they have less control over their actions/fates.

Something very interesting about change in plot lines
    The movie got it right
    Rowlings messed up big time
Second final Ending of the Deadly Hollows
    Rowlings never thought it through
    The Elder Wand
The Resurrection stone was lost but could have been easily found
The Invisibility Cloak also remained in sight
In Rowlings conclusion the Elder wand was returned to Dumbledores crypt
That would have left the danger open to the three Deathly Hallows been reunited at some time and creating an even more dangerous world
The script writer saw this danger and changed it to Harry breaking and destroying the one thing that remained a menace to both worlds
My question is this why did Rowlings miss this vital point and have the Elder Wand preserved
After all the other script changes I think this was the most crucial blunder she made
When she re edits the book and updates it THIS blunder needs to be corrected
The only explanation is that Rawlings was preparing to make a sequel to the Harry Potter saga and forgot to correct the blunder
Also I’m intrigued as to why they wasted their time in doing the Cursed Child and the Fantastic Beasts trilogy as scripts and not as proper novels
Hate scripts because they are very bland and boring
Proper novels would be far better
Scripts are the lazy way out of writing stories
Novels mean the writer has to actually SIT down and THINK CREATIVELY TO WRITE THE NOVELS PROPERLY

I think if she went through with 5, Harry & Hermione would Have to end together as a couple..
Sorry guys, I'm still kinda peed off that never happened canonically when we ALL know how toxic a relationship with Ron & Hermione would be.
But, I think the death of Ron Weasley would've hit a LOT harder than Fred & Lupin Together!!
I was actually anticipating it in the 6th or 7th book.. Or even Ginny, the youngest and only girl of the family. It would've Truly depressed the family And the twins including the readers.
Also, with Dudley having a baby with magic, I think would Finally be the straw that broke Petunia's back and show how much regret she's hold onto for being at odds with her sister and she'll be a doting grandmother.. Vernon however would unlikely change from his view points and maybe even denounce Dudley from the family, leading to secret family meetings with Dudley, Petunia, Harry and the kids.
