Before the the critics get here - I spent a few months in Mozambique in 2012, and remained in contact on and off over the years. I'm good friends with a number of people who are or were missionaries with the Bakers for an extended period. I heard them preach a consistently pure message (including on the need for the fear of the Lord, the need for holy living, and the reality of Hell as well as the more well known themes of the love of God and loving the poor.) Those friends have nothing but good things to say about the Bakers and their witness. Rolland Baker has also been available often to answer my Biblical and theological questions online (even though I had no "official" connection to the ministry) and his answers have been consistently profound, helpful and always orthodox. Rolland in his preaching has often emphasised the need to return to the simplicity of the Cross and the true Gospel, along with the sovereignty of God in everything.

Hi, discernment is the ability given by the Holy Spirit to spot false doctrine and error from what is truth. Of course such believers are enable to do that because they are emerged in God’s word. Unless you’re coming up for a different definition which should be backed up by examples In the NT.

Been to a couple Heidi baker conferences. I love everything about what she does and teaches, so inspiring, except... In all respect, her very strange (and concerning) alter ministry. I Wish remnant radio would be more willing to hold her strange behaviour to question, because something looks very off about some of it. And it worries me there isn't more discernment and that charismatic pastors allow it in their churches unchecked. She needs to be held accountable for that behaviour. It wouldn't be allowed except it's Heidi Baker, so she gets a free pass cause her ministry in africa somehow justifies it. I'm sorry but feeding orphans and widows doesn't justify improper behaviour in the church. Love you guys. But we as continuationists are mocked because of behaviour like what we see Heidi baker promote On church alters. Not because of the good work she does, but the weirdness. And please don't try to use Jesus being hated as an example. He wasn't hated for being weird. He was hated for breaking pharisee rules and making them look bad for his good work. Order in the church is not a pharisaical rule. It's biblical. And we can't just say, "well she's a prophet, or evangelist, so it's ok if she doesn't follow the order of church, she's just different", that excuse has been used for abuse like has come out about ihop. Almost half a year has passed since this interview and having come recently into contact with your RUclips channel I can say that this interview has broken me, humbled me, brought me to tears (you’re not alone Michael) as the Holy Spirit moved upon my heart while I’m washing my face, brushing my teeth, getting ready for work with tears going down my cheeks, and just ….listening in awe of the presence of God. 🙌🏽💖 I’ve attended the Toronto Blessing years ago for about three months pretty well every day and I have mixed feelings about it both good and bad as with any revival. Maybe four or five years ago, I saw Heidi Baker back at the Toronto Airport Church to hear her and was truly blessed. I saw her before the service and gave her a financial gift when she was walking with a friend. It’s so sad after experiencing the presence of the Lord and his love being felt through this interview, and then sadly reading the comments of people who are so hard hearted and stiffnecked with their stones already in their hands to kill her ministry and to stomp on its fruit. Thank you guys for doing an amazing job. This is what I needed today and I’m gonna share this message for anyone whoever needs a touch by the Holy Spirit and to feel the love of God. I am so glad I got out of this movement. But even as blind as I was, I don't think I would have believed Heidi Baker. Heidi Baker may have done something for the people in Mozambique, but so has Bill Gates. I do think RR is positioning themselves to replace Michael Brown as the defender of obvious false teachers. Sounds like your new camp made you stone cold. If your camp doesn't make you love more, you might be out of the kingdom. Being correct is not nearly as important as walking in love. No better opportunity to show love than to the camp you most disagree with. Wisdom is to know which is disagreements are existential according to clear biblical standard and those that we can look past for the sake of the kingdom
Wow! I must say that I never thought I'd be saying this but I'm sorely disappointed and completely befuddled by this video. To hear Roundtree start off by saying he's been blessed and super inspired by Baker is shocking. After all that I have appreciated and lauded that's come from the many programs I've watched and the way you so adeptly and fairly handled the Cessationist video, including admitting and calling out the "abuses" within the Charismatic circles, to see and hear that now is just shocking. I can't help but ask if you have seen the "Crown" video with Baker? I can't imagine you haven't but in fairness don't assume. I am VERY slow to ever say this but when it comes to that I do NOT believe for a second that was a "move" of the Holy Spirit and quite probably demonic. Miller isn't on this broadcast so I don't have to resort to last names. Therefore I just wanna say to Michael that while I sincerely and truly appreciate what he said about Matt. 11 and looking at the fruit, what Jesus says in Matt. 7 can not and should not be ignored. I am one of those "critics" Michael is referring to and I do not doubt for a second that some of those "fruits" Michael is talking about fits under the category of "many mighty works in your name" that Jesus spoke of in Matt. 7:22. We should not underestimate the power of deception that Satan has nor the wolves in sheep clothing and angels of light that do his bidding. Yes, it is a beautiful and moving thing to hear stories of those who found the love of Jesus to forgive those who beat, tortured, and killed their family members but we can NOT allow our emotions to cloud our discernment and judgment. And the last story that Baker told really drives that point home! We MUST filter everything thru Scripture. What does God say is the power unto Salvation? A hug? NO! Baker said that Jesus came into that woman's heart and then says the woman's response is that God can eat her family!! C'mon, guys. You can do better. I said at the beginning of this comment that I was sorely disappointed in the way it started off and I'm even more so in the way it ended. WHY was there not one word said to Heidi about the shenanigans seen in that Crown video and others? Why not "push back" on that as you have with others on your show? Why not give you a chance to explain herself and the antics there? I know you could've done better. And you should have.

Not sure what to do with this. Footage of her submitting to and receiving a lengthy and clearly disturbing and heretical prophetic blessing from Kenneth Copeland is widely available and is just not something that can be brushed off. I have known missionaries (and visited briefly in one tough territory). The work is hard and not to be romanticized. Also a lot of bad actors in the mission field. Sincerely led missionaries often get a big surprise about the dark side of some efforts. There is a whole underbelly to mission work, nonprofits, NGOs etc. The road to hell being paved with good intentions, as the saying goes. For example (and I am not saying one way or another if I would think Iris Global is doing this, so this is not an accusation), it is a widespread problem that NGOs, Christian or otherwise, engage in bribery to get projects done, thus end up funding bad if not evil political leaders, warlords etc., and thus undermine any potential real improvement in a country. If a Christian NGO formally goes into a tough nation, especially under the auspices of specific charity work or improvement projects, and has to register with and negotiate with that government, a tremendous amount of compromise with worldy powers and diminishment of the Gospel as part of the deal is common, and often donors back home don't know this. The "tentmaking" model a la Paul is the original model for what missions work is - just a couple of folks traveling around working to pay their way - looking for locals whom might get saved and become the leaders of a local church while the missionaries move on and maybe just come back to visit. This is very different from a foreign missions organization that enters a country and stays for years, while locals are forever under foreign spiritual leadership. In terms of the Gospel, if Heidi Baker were to renounce a connection with Copeland, that would go a long way to demonstrating some legitimacy, but also she would need to unlearn some bad doctrine. I am definitely not coming from a cessationist viewpoint, BTW. Far from it.
Please pray for my mother she has Parkinson’s and just had a horrible freak accident, she’s in the hospital after surgery, now an infection. Please pray for my healing as well, I have a breast tumor and the dr is 99% sure it’s cancer. I love Jesus and believe he is healing us right now. I have faith that there will be miracle healing. I’ve prayed for and seen miracle healings. I watched furious love many years ago and Heidi was a huge inspiration.

Her humanitarian efforts are commendable. But then again so was Mother Teresa, who would say she would help make people a better Buddhists, Hindu, or whatever your concept of God is. Then again Mormons and many other groups help out the poor. Then again most of us have given to the Untied Way. So according to many of the posts here good works is the way to salvation. Yet. I don't think that is what the scripture teaches. So with a shield of good works we are not to examine Heidi's teachings, "experiences" and practices???? Let me take a look at a few things.
As has been noted by other posters she vainly repeats words and phrases, like, legacy, fire, or nonsense like shaka babba, or charka babba, or to scoknocker roddered somebody, (it is difficult to spell non words correctly), of course doctrine and the Bible don't matter here, forget about Matt:6:7 and vain repetitions. But that is standard practice for her. Or how about her "vision" of the "body parts room"? In 2002 she said that God the Father took her in there, forget about the scripture that says no one can see God and live. So she did something NOBODY in the WHOLE Bible EVER did!!!!! And in 2002 God tells her she can get in there at any time!!! She mentions body parts like arms, legs, eyes etc. But it is obvious that she could not do that. since that vision. Has she ever restored an amputee's limb? Or made a limb grow where there was none previously? Then in 2021 the vision changes where God tells her he will lead her into when she can get in there. Then she adds there was a food room. Sounds like another tall tale. Question, if God can create something out of nothing, why does he need a spare parts room? And why did God not reveal this to anybody else? I mean this could have been used well before the 21st century. For example that would have been great in WW I or WW II. And whenever she speaks she never exegetes scripture, all she talks about his her self. Listen to her and count the number of times she says "I" in her messages. Then she has these bizarre manifestations on stage acting like she is drunk. When the scripture constantly warns us against drunkenness. She is often out of control. Yet the scripture tells us the fruit of the spirit is self control, which she often seems to lack. Then again there is I Corinth. 14:32. If you don't know what it says, look it up as it is rather germane to Heide's antics on stage! I am sure if you search the scriptures diligently enough you can find Heide's teachings they are found in I and II Imaginations.
Who said that?.. I've never heard her talk of Mormon beliefs, Budda, or Hindu Gods so your argument its completely irrelevant. Jesus said you will know them by their fruit. Her desire is to lead people to Jesus and as she said that salvation was the greatest miracle.. Its not some mysterious other Jesus she speaks about. She speaks of Jesus Christ of Nazareth and talks about forgiveness and love. I see an interview pop up with someone who reportedly sees signs and wonders in her ministry, and I get blown away by the miracle of God's love and forgiveness. Is real, down deep forgiveness and love the greatest sign and wonder? It feels that way for me right now.

As someone who spent time in Northern Mozambique, in Montepuez and Pemba in the summer of 2010. I observed and asked questions about the churches the bakers mission teams started. People told me that the people would come with a projector and screen and show the jesus film from the 70s dubed in Portuguese. Then they would give the invitation. The people that did respond would then form a church but would never hear from the missionaries again. So in many cases the church would be absorbed by a different denomination in the area or would just die out from people not coming anymore. So you would see a bunch in an area for a while then they would be gone over time. There were a few that did stay the bakers denomination, tho they were rare, and we were always suprised when we found one still going. Maybe they have changed their strategy since 2010 tho. Overall its not bad by any means. But most missionaries would probably see it as "not best practice". Other than my on the ground experience there with the people and churches i know nothing of the Bakers and i am sure they love the Lord and have done more for his kingdom than i ever have or will. May the Lord have mercy on us all.

Heidi Bakers ministry has established several thousands of churches in mozambique and in the world. Her ministry has reached more unreached people groups than many other missions organization. Iris ministry requires that pastors adopt an orphan. She teaches dying to self. Full surrender and truly loving others in tangible ways. I am so happy the Lord gave the scripture that you can tell someone who is true versus false teacher by their fruit. Making disciples of all nations is the great commission and Heidi puts us all to shame. I find that missionaries who have given up everything for the Lord are those I listen to the most. Jesus said its not those who hear but those who follow the word. I think its her humility that keeps her from walking in deception. You can have all the knowledge in the world but if you miss the two greatest commands you have missed the Fathers will as all the law and the prophets hang on these two commands.
Heidi is my hero- such a a challenge and inspiration - have followed her for many years - just when I get complacent and comfortable in my Christian journey, the Lord uses her to challenge me to live more, forgive more, give myself more to Him and to others.
Love IS the "offensive weapon" of the Kingdom.....Been to Iris in Mozambique and the LOVE of God is real and flowing freely. I really appreciate Heidi's honesty and vulnerability in her struggle to forgive AND God's gifted miracle of the heart she now knows! Heidi and Rolland are true missionaries. Been to Pemba over ten times and met my wife in Mozambique. Seen countless miracles first hand, deaf, blind, paralysed, demonised all healed and delivered, creative miracles. Christ centred, loving, integrous, consistent, simple and pure.
I am so thankful for Heidi and Rolland. If the critics would listen with their hearts instead of judging....you would hear how God has used her tremendously since she was saved as a young woman. Thank you guys for hosting her.

Mother Teresa was wicked. She denied sick people of pain meds just to watch them die suffering but when Teresa was sick she took pain meds so she didn't suffer.
Before the the critics get here - I spent a few months in Mozambique in 2012, and remained in contact on and off over the years. I'm good friends with a number of people who are or were missionaries with the Bakers for an extended period. I heard them preach a consistently pure message (including on the need for the fear of the Lord, the need for holy living, and the reality of Hell as well as the more well known themes of the love of God and loving the poor.) Those friends have nothing but good things to say about the Bakers and their witness. Rolland Baker has also been available often to answer my Biblical and theological questions online (even though I had no "official" connection to the ministry) and his answers have been consistently profound, helpful and always orthodox. Rolland in his preaching has often emphasised the need to return to the simplicity of the Cross and the true Gospel, along with the sovereignty of God in everything.

Been to a couple Heidi baker conferences. I love everything about what she does and teaches, so inspiring, except... In all respect, her very strange (and concerning) alter ministry. I Wish remnant radio would be more willing to hold her strange behaviour to question, because something looks very off about some of it. And it worries me there isn't more discernment and that charismatic pastors allow it in their churches unchecked. She needs to be held accountable for that behaviour. It wouldn't be allowed except it's Heidi Baker, so she gets a free pass cause her ministry in africa somehow justifies it. I'm sorry but feeding orphans and widows doesn't justify improper behaviour in the church. Love you guys. But we as continuationists are mocked because of behaviour like what we see Heidi baker promote On church alters. Not because of the good work she does, but the weirdness. And please don't try to use Jesus being hated as an example. He wasn't hated for being weird. He was hated for breaking pharisee rules and making them look bad for his good work. I’ve attended the Toronto Blessing years ago for about three months pretty well every day and I have mixed feelings about it both good and bad as with any revival.
Maybe four or five years ago, I saw Heidi Baker back at the Toronto Airport Church to hear her and was truly blessed.
I saw her before the service and gave her a financial gift when she was walking with a friend.
It’s so sad after experiencing the presence of the Lord and his love being felt through this interview, and then sadly reading the comments of people who are so hard hearted and stiffnecked with their stones already in their hands to kill her ministry and to stomp on its fruit.
Thank you guys for doing an amazing job. This is what I needed today and I’m gonna share this message for anyone whoever needs a touch by the Holy Spirit and to feel the love of God. This is the RUclips to listen to.

No better opportunity to show love than to the camp you most disagree with. Wisdom is to know which is disagreements are existential according to clear biblical standard and those that we can look past for the sake of the kingdom
Wow! I must say that I never thought I'd be saying this but I'm sorely disappointed and completely befuddled by this video. To hear Roundtree start off by saying he's been blessed and super inspired by Baker is shocking. After all that I have appreciated and lauded that's come from the many programs I've watched and the way you so adeptly and fairly handled the Cessationist video, including admitting and calling out the "abuses" within the Charismatic circles, to see and hear that now is just shocking.
I can't help but ask if you have seen the "Crown" video with Baker? I can't imagine you haven't but in fairness don't assume. I am VERY slow to ever say this but when it comes to that I do NOT believe for a second that was a "move" of the Holy Spirit and quite probably demonic.
Miller isn't on this broadcast so I don't have to resort to last names. Therefore I just wanna say to Michael that while I sincerely and truly appreciate what he said about Matt. 11 and looking at the fruit, what Jesus says in Matt. 7 can not and should not be ignored. I am one of those "critics" Michael is referring to and I do not doubt for a second that some of those "fruits" Michael is talking about fits under the category of "many mighty works in your name" that Jesus spoke of in Matt. 7:22. We should not underestimate the power of deception that Satan has nor the wolves in sheep clothing and angels of light that do his bidding.
Yes, it is a beautiful and moving thing to hear stories of those who found the love of Jesus to forgive those who beat, tortured, and killed their family members but we can NOT allow our emotions to cloud our discernment and judgment. And the last story that Baker told really drives that point home! We MUST filter everything thru Scripture. What does God say is the power unto Salvation? A hug? NO! Baker said that Jesus came into that woman's heart and then says the woman's response is that God can eat her family!!
C'mon, guys. You can do better. I said at the beginning of this comment that I was sorely disappointed in the way it started off and I'm even more so in the way it ended. WHY was there not one word said to Heidi about the shenanigans seen in that Crown video and others? Why not "push back" on that as you have with others on your show? Ad hom, Demagoguery, Deception, Deflection, Distraction, and Diversion is what one resorts to when they can NOT address the SUBSTANCE of what has been said. Not sure what to do with this. Footage of her submitting to and receiving a lengthy and clearly disturbing and heretical prophetic blessing from Kenneth Copeland is widely available and is just not something that can be brushed off.
I have known missionaries (and visited briefly in one tough territory). The work is hard and not to be romanticized. Also a lot of bad actors in the mission field.
Sincerely led missionaries often get a big surprise about the dark side of some efforts. There is a whole underbelly to mission work, nonprofits, NGOs etc. The road to hell being paved with good intentions, as the saying goes.
For example (and I am not saying one way or another if I would think Iris Global is doing this, so this is not an accusation), it is a widespread problem that NGOs, Christian or otherwise, engage in bribery to get projects done, thus end up funding bad if not evil political leaders, warlords etc., and thus undermine any potential real improvement in a country.
If a Christian NGO formally goes into a tough nation, especially under the auspices of specific charity work or improvement projects, and has to register with and negotiate with that government, a tremendous amount of compromise with worldy powers and diminishment of the Gospel as part of the deal is common, and often donors back home don't know this.
The "tentmaking" model a la Paul is the original model for what missions work is - just a couple of folks traveling around working to pay their way - looking for locals whom might get saved and become the leaders of a local church while the missionaries move on and maybe just come back to visit.
This is very different from a foreign missions organization that enters a country and stays for years, while locals are forever under foreign spiritual leadership.
In terms of the Gospel, if Heidi Baker were to renounce a connection with Copeland, that would go a long way to demonstrating some legitimacy, but also she would need to unlearn some bad doctrine.
I am definitely not coming from a cessationist viewpoint, BTW. Far from it.

Her humanitarian efforts are commendable. But then again so was Mother Teresa, who would say she would help make people a better Buddhists, Hindu, or whatever your concept of God is. Then again Mormons and many other groups help out the poor. Then again most of us have given to the Untied Way. So according to many of the posts here good works is the way to salvation. Yet. I don't think that is what the scripture teaches.
So with a shield of good works we are not to examine Heidi's teachings, "experiences" and practices????
Let me take a look at a few things.
As has been noted by other posters she vainly repeats words and phrases, like, legacy, fire, or nonsense like shaka babba, or charka babba, or to scoknocker roddered somebody, (it is difficult to spell non words correctly), of course doctrine and the Bible don't matter here, forget about Matt:6:7 and vain repetitions. But that is standard practice for her.
Or how about her "vision" of the "body parts room"? In 2002 she said that God the Father took her in there, forget about the scripture that says no one can see God and live. So she did something NOBODY in the WHOLE Bible EVER did!!!!!
And in 2002 God tells her she can get in there at any time!!! She mentions body parts like arms, legs, eyes etc. But it is obvious that she could not do that. since that vision. Has she ever restored an amputee's limb? Or made a limb grow where there was none previously?
Then in 2021 the vision changes where God tells her he will lead her into when she can get in there. Then she adds there was a food room. Sounds like another tall tale.
Question, if God can create something out of nothing, why does he need a spare parts room? And why did God not reveal this to anybody else? I mean this could have been used well before the 21st century. For example that would have been great in WW I or WW II.
And whenever she speaks she never exegetes scripture, all she talks about his her self. Listen to her and count the number of times she says "I" in her messages.
Then she has these bizarre manifestations on stage acting like she is drunk. When the scripture constantly warns us against drunkenness. She is often out of control. Yet the scripture tells us the fruit of the spirit is self control, which she often seems to lack. Then again there is I Corinth. 14:32.
If you don't know what it says, look it up as it is rather germane to Heide's antics on stage!
I am sure if you search the scriptures diligently enough you can find Heide's teachings they are found in I and II Imaginations.

I see an interview pop up with someone who reportedly sees signs and wonders in her ministry, and I get blown away by the miracle of God's love and forgiveness. Is real, down deep forgiveness and love the greatest sign and wonder? It feels that way for me right now.

As someone who spent time in Northern Mozambique, in Montepuez and Pemba in the summer of 2010. I observed and asked questions about the churches the bakers mission teams started. People told me that the people would come with a projector and screen and show the jesus film from the 70s dubed in Portuguese. Then they would give the invitation. The people that did respond would then form a church but would never hear from the missionaries again. So in many cases the church would be absorbed by a different denomination in the area or would just die out from people not coming anymore. So you would see a bunch in an area for a while then they would be gone over time. There were a few that did stay the bakers denomination, tho they were rare, and we were always suprised when we found one still going. Maybe they have changed their strategy since 2010 tho. Overall its not bad by any means. But most missionaries would probably see it as "not best practice".
Other than my on the ground experience there with the people and churches i know nothing of the Bakers and i am sure they love the Lord and have done more for his kingdom than i ever have or will. May the Lord have mercy on us all.

Heidi Bakers ministry has established several thousands of churches in mozambique and in the world. Her ministry has reached more unreached people groups than many other missions organization. Iris ministry requires that pastors adopt an orphan. She teaches dying to self. Full surrender and truly loving others in tangible ways. I am so happy the Lord gave the scripture that you can tell someone who is true versus false teacher by their fruit. Making disciples of all nations is the great commission and Heidi puts us all to shame. I find that missionaries who have given up everything for the Lord are those I listen to the most. Jesus said its not those who hear but those who follow the word. I think its her humility that keeps her from walking in deception. You can have all the knowledge in the world but if you miss the two greatest commands you have missed the Fathers will as all the law and the prophets hang on these two commands.
Heidi is my hero- such a a challenge and inspiration - have followed her for many years - just when I get complacent and comfortable in my Christian journey, the Lord uses her to challenge me to live more, forgive more, give myself more to Him and to others.

Heidi and Rolland are true missionaries. Been to Pemba over ten times and met my wife in Mozambique. Seen countless miracles first hand, deaf, blind, paralysed, demonised all healed and delivered, creative miracles. Christ centred, loving, integrous, consistent, simple and pure.

I am so thankful for Heidi and Rolland. If the critics would listen with their hearts instead of judging....you would hear how God has used her tremendously since she was saved as a young woman. Thank you guys for hosting her.
I don't recall Jesus ever telling anyone to listen to someone's heart. He did tell his followers that what comes outta one's mouth shows their heart and He COMMANDS His followers TO judge.

Consider this. Jesus fashioned a whip of cords and took it to the backsides of those who had turned His Father's House into a den of thieves. How much more do you reckon He would/will do to those who turn His Word into a LIE and bears false witness against Him in His own name?!
Let me guess. YOUR Jesus would never take a whip to anyone. 2nd Cor. 10:5 has God telling us Christians to take EVERY thought captive to the obedience of Christ and 1st Jn. 4:1 says we are to test EVERY spirit but YOU say critics should listen with their hearts instead of judging. So you're standing in opposition to Christ and when I bring that to your attention I'm "pretty rough". Smh

Mother Teresa was pretty good also in helping the poor in India. She did it for Jesus living a humble life.
Mother Teresa was wicked. She denied sick people of pain meds just to watch them die suffering but when Teresa was sick she took pain meds so she didn't suffer.
This is a great interview. Heidi is a blessing to the body of Christ.
