- With the help of his friend Zach, Tom discovers a cache of rare and forgotten cars hidden away in Virginia. The second Ferrari ever found on Barn Find Hunter, an AMC Javelin and an assortment of Dodge trucks round out a collection of rougher cars that may ride again with a little (or a lot) of 'sweat equity'.

This was one of my most fun car days. Getting to hang out with my great friend Tom Cotter as we toured around the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia in our woody wagons. Thanks to my friends Chuck and Bill along with Nick and Greg in episode 118 for permitting Tom to share their car stories. Thanks to Hagerty Media and The Barn Find Hunter team for the quality productions and keeping the stories of old vehicles alive.
BTW~ my Mom had the subsequent year Colony Park wagon. So I've been a life long hatchback and wagon guy. Despite fixing Porsche through college...LoL
I was curious if the 80's F250 in the first barn is for sale? Also is the 70's Ford truck in the Turkey barn for sale also? Any info you can give on either would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Hi Zack, I'm from Harrisonburg, I'd really like to make an offer on the Barracuda, any way to get intouch? Thanks!
Hi Zach, was curious about the GTO and was wondering if you would be able to offer any information on how to get in touch with the owner. Thank you!
Every time new episode comes out. It feels like meeting with an old friend. Thanks Hagerty 🤝🤝
61 Country Squire, What a cool car
When I worked in Roanoke by the airport, I used to watch that guy fly those jets in the summer time. It was unusual to see small jets like that in the area.
that's one Beautiful Country Squire !
That Country Squire is an absolute sweetheart, set the tone for the whole episode. Classic Tom Cotter. Thanks.
I remember Tom driving the custom ordered Country Squire signed off by Lee Iacocca in an early episode.
@@williamleewolverine not a car that I was aware of and that’s the beauty of this series. You see old friends and new discoveries in the same frame. Love it.
@@scrubscriber4911 This series changed my perspective of cars and enchanted my love for the classics. I love this program and it has been a great teaching tool for me.
That's a 1970 Javelin, not a 1969. 304 didn't come out to 70 and it has the 5-sement taillights and full-width dash.
Yep! Maybe she got it at the end of ‘69 or something but it that’s a ‘70. So disappointing to see it in that condition.
Yep! 1970 tail lights, dash and side marker lights.
@kalle klovn I'm not judging the owner, I'm judging the production team who certainly knows better.
Can’t believe they glued the window shut😳
Lol I came to the comments to make the same statement. We had a 70 Javelin, green on green. Just 232 in-line six but that was a cool car, as most do I sincerely regret selling it.
Casual King of the Hill ZR1 parked next to the Ferrari
That's a good looking Duster and I'm not even a Mopar guy. I'd give it a good mechanical resto and drive it. A lot.
Any classic that has been 'sitting' for more than 10 years isn't going to be restored by the present owner. Sad
At least the guy actually kept the cars in as good of a shape as they could’ve been kept, and is willing to sell!
Well, here’s an opportunity for you ! Go and buy then.
But the guy is keeping them in the best way possible. I remember a 70s barracuda left outside " bought after the army...I will restore one day.
Dude it was made out of rust
You know what's more sad? These things sitting in a scrap yard.
You're just hating on this man because he has more money than you and can afford more cars than you.
Hey it becomes an opportunity for someone else
My dad bought a 67 GTO over 30 years ago that was a hunk of junk. Over the years he restored it to dang near its former glory. It’s more a less a garage Queen, but it floats down the road
The one GTO is a 64 and the 66 is a rare color Irish mist I think. I am very interested in the 66, I will be in touch.
Bill the owner of the Turkey barn cars can be contacted at 770-712-6323
The 66 appears to be a 2 door sedan, that is rairer that the hard top.
@@larryroberts4984 Larry, are you from Ohio by chance?

1961 Ford Country Squire is very nice and I typically don't even care for wagons.
I work for a well known delivery company, people have no idea how many classic cars are in barns, garages and old sheds. I'm a car guy, so I'm always looking. Many of the classic cars that I've come across are owned by old guys that just can't let them go. One old lady on my route bought her '73, 455 Trans Am new ! It's all original right down to the paint.
One of the best shows on the internet
A new episode of Barn Find Hunter to finish off my night. Perfect, love the vids as always ❤️
Ok guys love the show but wondering about the content now. First, he says it's an 84 F250, no problem there but Ford didn't offer the 351 Cleveland in 84 that option ended in 74. Also, yea it's a 70 Javelin and I own one and a 70 AMX. AZ AMC Restoration would be interested in this car..
That tailgate doesnt look like a 84 either. Looks like a 87 to 91. Something weird going on with that truck. If its a F250 and its a 84, its probably a 460..
@@grandtheftautotune7715 can be a 351W as well. family had an 84 f350 with a 351, and a buddy had an 85 with the 351 ho
I love and hate this platform....RUclips for a lot of different reasons but one reason I love it is because you don't have to be in your teens or twenties to be a RUclipsr. You can be any age and be successful here. And what a fun job to be able to travel around the country in beautiful cars going to find beautiful cars. Awesome channel. So glad I found it.
That Javalin desrves a really good cleaning..
Is this the Tom Cotter from the Charlotte area who was involved in nascar show cars? I grew up in Stuarts Draft, good thing I didn't know all this was there! May have to explore this in spite of being in my 70's now. Thank you for this video!
The red Galaxy is a 1968. I had a ‘70 model LTD coupe for many years. The ‘69 and’70 were nearly identical except for the tail lights and front grille, and much larger than the’68 models.
I caught that too. I’m surprised they didn’t.
Cars are made to be driven, not gather dust
Discussed the Ford pick up, but not the c4 zr1 in the background. Interesting.
I love his old wagon nearly as much as I like yours Tom 👍👍👍
The “ARMY JEEP” isn’t a 45 and isn’t an ARMY JEEP, but was a civilian issue Jeep. 1. It has an opening tailgate which WWII military Jeeps did not have. They had a solid panel in the rear without a tailgate. 2. There is a bit of red paint on the dash where the o.d. green paint is peeling away.
Just wanted to say glad that your shows back
Good to see some 80s cars getting some love!
I picked up a 77 amc hornet amx last august with 38,000 miles on it . Had been sitting on a trailer outside since 06 covered most of those years. Any way the car is mostly rust free but !
The Javelin has the 70 interior and 70 rear tail light. Like my 70 AMX. Id bet its a 70 and not a 69 unless its a late 69 or real early 70. My AMX was a June of 70 car.
I got a 69 Camaro few years back for just cutting someone's grass for the summer. It still looks like it came straight off the show room floor. I love it and it runs like a beast!!
The hole in the floor of the MG will clean up and polish out.
The javelin is the most underrated muscle car
Zach!!! He really does know everybody
Would love to restore the SST. Cool car, lucky man
I want to get in touch with the guy about the 66 GTO. Looks like a good project.
Then go ! 👍 Go get it !
So great to have you back .
The most entertaining is actually barn finds automobiles, planes, and motorcycles.
Love the red 68 galaxie!
Great video as usual. Thanks Tom!
The cats are gone but the AMC SST is still there. Too bad they couldn’t have taken better care of it and not let it just waste away.
Such a great channel, look forward to every new episode. Happy trails Tom
The Barracuda is a 66. I have a restored 65 that turns heads and starts conversations. They are super rare.
That Javelin is a ‘70
Hard to believe so many barn finds out there
My first ever car was a 1964 AMC Rambler American 220 two door. Put CSB, Ford Mine inch and everything new. That was in 1980.
We miss you Tom we need more barn find Hunter episodes
That Javelin may have been bought in 1969, but it's a 1970. :)
The Javelin is a 1970 model.
Well those jet provosts topped out at 440 mph so heaven knows where he got the 540 knots from ! (about 600mph ) .
I wish Tom Cotter great health so these shows go on for a long while !
That GTO, my goodness, a guy can dream. That Javelin would be a nice restore too.
Ya, that GTO would be sweet if just brought back to roadworthyness and driven once in a while. No need to fully restore. Beautiful body design and those stacked headlights. Such a cool car.
Great video! Nice Duster and GTO!
Every classic owner understands the drink in-between the legs move that tom does in the drive through.
Barn Finds = Being in the mindset of a kid... MAGIC.
I'd like to buy that javelin. I had bought one for my son back in the 90s and it was stolen. I would by that for him
Best of luck acquiring one, thieves are the worst.
That Javelin can easily fetch $682K as it sits
@@wileecoyote5749 how do you come up with that number?? You can buy them online fully restored for $20,000. They are not bringing crazy money. That's just a javelin SST that's not a big block AMX two-seater which has much more value. I've owned several javelins throughout my life. Nice cars, I never really cared for the Dash setup. But because they're rare I like them
$300k you can buy one
Wow , that barn is like a year long .
Oh Jeeezzzzz....send me the GTO! To Portugal.....
Gas isn't cheap in Portugal, for a GTO.
Those dodge are on the come up with the c10's short beds. Because of the crazy Cummins swaps people put in them. Or naturally another gas motor is 1st option usually
As an actual step child (a red headed one, no less), I approve of the usage of 'step child' in this video lol
Lool im tryna figure out why the step child references
@@THER00BILLZ Watch at 3:30, then you will figure it out.
Get AMMONYC to work on those cars. He'll shine them up real good! The good thing about having cats in the barn, is there won't be any mice nests in the car! lol
I want that Dino! Love old Ferraris! I hate when people just keep old cars in the barn because they don't have time for them (second owner).
Cool to see some local cars on here! Cheers from Rockingham County!
Great job tom loved this one keepem rolling,👍😎🙏
I kills me when people just let things sit and rot. If I have stuff I don't use, I will give it away to someone will love it, rather than destroy it.
At least we know the T.A.R.D.I.S. won't be left to sit around rotting somewhere! :)
or, simply sell it for a reasonable price
Random observations from the Ridge:
1. Tom was roaming around just the other side of Roanoke from us down here in NE TN.
I know that area well, truly God's country up there.
2. Chick Fil A lunch is primo!
3. Owner of Duster - please don't "crate hemi" that poor thing. It has so much more interest going on
with the 340 (and perhaps a 4-speed), not to mention much more period-correct.
Everybody and their brother does that "crate hemi" thing. Speaking as someone who's a lifelong Mopar
guy (and admittedly owns two late-model hemi's, in addition to my '68 GTX)...
4. That blue Power Ram has some very rare factory aluminum rims on it!
Methinks this "barn find concierge" fella has a few more tricks up his sleeve, too.
Looking forward to it!
- Ed on the Ridge
I'm with you about the Dustbin, Ed. I'd do a small block V8 swap in the Barracuda as well. Who in their right mind ordered a Barracuda with a 6 and three speed>
@@DeweyCheatumNHoweLLC Tons of them out there back when - and thanks to the virtual indestructability
of the Slant 6, many live on to this day.
@@moparedtn I know. One of my friends had a Dart, 6 and stick, went 220,000 without changing the clutch. We scrapped it in late 70s, typical rust belt car, floors and quarters gone
Well, at least he's willing to let them go!
Uau the GTO looks simply amazing and really deserves to be brought back.
First thing is changing the fluids ruber components sitting is worse thing you can do sure oil leaks will come
Great finds!! Now, if I could just find a 1967 Buick Wildcat in a barn somewhere I'd be over joyed!! I had one back in 1973, and had to sell it while in the Air Force. LOVED that Car!
I agree my buddy had one and i loved it
queue Larry from AMMO NYC heavy breathing
Owner needs to gift all these gems.
What's the best way to contact the Barn Find Hunter Crew? I emailed you guys several weeks ago but never got a response so I wasn't sure if it was correct.
Dang, did a dust storm pass through Virginia recently? Maybe they outlawed leaf blowers in that state. 😳😵💫😵💫
It's shame they hoard them put them in barn don't even wash them our let them run cer sitting destroys the seals in motor they dry root drive the cars that's what they were built to do not horder
@@dannyhudson3184 The worst is when the beta owner says something about an agreement letting cats stay in the barn. I was just shaking my head, because the Javelin clearly didnt have a car cover, thats what gets me is the lack of protection when you know they are exposed to animals.
How do I contact you Tom Carter. I live in San Diego and know a lot of good barn find locations if your interested.
Good thing that you've closed the door at the end Tom :)
Nice cars how much does he want for the Camaro iRock Z I would love to make that a project car
That 75 DINO is awesome!
Is it for sale?
If I had the money, I would have random classic cars everywhere too
that camaro iroc-z needs to be brought back to it's former glory.
That short bed 4x4 dodge at the end was nice for the right price. Like he said way easier to aquire than a square body but the same vintage. Course someone will buy it and hack it up for a cummins swap or make it a mud truck.
That particular one is a 91-93 with that grill. A lil newer than the square body
@@bigassfordsd Its close enough to 87 for a half ton comparison lol (last year of the squarebody in a 1/2 and 3/4 ton pickup). They did keep the square body until 91 on the one tons, k5 blazer and suburban I believe, although some people don't consider them a real "squarebody". All in opinion. Either way here in NH where everything is rotted from salt use in the winter, that dodge would go for a good bit of 💰.
That Dino with a Ferrari hood badge and a v8 looks more like a 308 to me.
It is a 308 GT4. They switched from Dino to Ferrari badging in '76
Great cars, I'II take them all : )
The galaxie is actually a 68, only because it's my favorite.
That car need more restoration and i love say hi from 🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩 thanks hagerty
An 84 F Series with a Cleveland? What?
Love to purchase the 66 GTO. I’m in…
How do I contact the guy with the GTO?
It's funny that you drive. I had a guy offer to take me in his plane because I knew of a farmers dump of old cars. Do you ever fly?
We should start a Foundation...like Rescue Classic or something. It's really painful
There was a Zr1 Vette and not a word about it. Dissapointed.
There's a complete early barracuda like that at Blackies junkyard in York county, Virginia. And it's a Barracuda "S" coupe with the factory 273 V8! Wish someone would snatch that one up and save it cuz it's in relatively decent shape. Or just take both of those barracudas and make one and ditch that slant six!
Dang that mighty max/ram 50 DOH!
My cats loved to sink their nails into the landau top on my old Cadillac. Easy to replace. I think all pilots . . . at least the older ones . . . are car guys too.
I love your channel
All these muscle cars are basically dream cars when you live in Europe!
Dream to own, nightmare to run - with today's fuel prices!
Not really.
ferrari weels were also on the Biturbo mkI
I would love to have any of those cars especially the GTO or the Duster great job nice video I just wish I had one of those
My favourite ferrari
The red Galaxy is a 1968. I had a white one with a 302.
These cars is all cars that people like Denis Collins will buy. The Ferrari will definitely be up the alley for a collector like David Lee. Please anyone who have contact details for the above mentioned must let them know about these gems.
wish we got a peak at that ZR1 C4 from the first property
It wasn't a real Z06.
