Thank you Tom Cotter for taking us into peoples personal car collections putting a smile on our faces. Your interaction with people is awesome. My first car was a purple 1970 Charger 318 2 barrel and my brother had a purple 1970 Super Bee 383 4 speed and a 1965 Mustang 289 2 Barrel when we were teenagers. Love old cars, basket cases.
At least he put "meres" on his truck JUST IN CASE he ever gets around to actually finishing anything. As far as I can see he isn't a mechanic. He just likes chucking things together so they look like a veehickle and then expects someone else to come along and finish the job.
Tom what a simply brilliant episode, I am a great fan of your blogs, since I was a kid (I am now 80 yrs young) have had a love affair with American cars, I dont know what it is but I have this fascination with car lighting, And the one I remember so well is the Chevy Impala with those rear synchronising indicators, I believe that the T Bird in late fiftys early 60s had them to? I am an English man living in France, and sad to say do not see to many American cars here. Just to see a Chevy with that rear lighting in action would make my day. Keep up the great work Tom.
Tom Awesome episode. Those guys all deserve respect. Great cars and they appreciate a clean place. No piles of junk around. Actually working projects in progress. Looking forward to the find😎
This Gentleman looks pretty young for 80 years old , i find him.amazing , hes young looking and very handsome and definitely gets around well , kudos and hats off too you old timer
Tom sitting here watching and enjoying your trip to England and particularly Bernie what a kick, you should invite him to visit you State side for an adventure.
Just goes to show as generations get older looks change. I don't think i've ever seen an 80 year old in a t-shirt and blue jeans......and he still rides a harley! Spice of life!
Great show Tom. Sounds like more great videos to come. 80 years old still riding. I'm 74 & feel 55 but the wife says NO bike for me. Owned 3 in my younger years.
This morning i was like "haven't had a Barn Finder episode in a while". Go on lunch break and notification pops up. Looks like I'm having lunch with Tom.
@@aaron___6014 Exactly why the 60s Pre chicken tax Ford Econoline trucks are so damn cool! They were meant to be used up, billions made, millions scrapped, maybe thousands left. Sorta makes it special, as it survived.
Looks to be a 68-70 Beetle with pre-67 front fenders so it's kind of a mish-mash, but if the floor pans are solid who cares. A month worth of weekends and that thing will clean up quite nicely!
@@chrisfreemesser5707 i've seen far far worse constantly fetch a lot more than what this guy is asking. from what i seen its a darn good starting point.
@@adamweston4152 heck it's almost to that point in the USA now, every now and again you'll find a great deal, but most of the times you'd spend thousands on a pile of rust and a tube with what looks like floor pans.
The tradition of the doodlebug is still alive in Sweden. The legislation that you can drive a tractor from the age of 16 was the death of many Volvo Duetts, being converted to short pickups with solid rear axles, dual gearboxes and a red reflex triangle in the rear. Epa was the swedish name given to doodlebugs from a old discount store. Today Volvo 740s are the most common builds, but with suspension in the rear and speed limiting cutout boxes to the ignition instead of a screaming motor on high revs.
Today I saw how this guy kept his car cover from blowing off, thank you, during March every year my cover gets blown off no matter what. Gonna try that.
ooooh now that's a nice orignial ford i like those when ford had lines were as now its just....box on wheels, i love that i'm a car guy can't do what jay leno does so i'll just build a basement for my cars and then build the house on top of it! that's brillant!
I was thinking for a retirement plan for myself, buying a bus and driving into Mexico with it, driving out restored. Enjoy the world. I live in a car now. So, since I like this so much, I gotta find a way to make travel special again.
This is the reason I want sell my 2001 Cadillac Deville with the Northstar. People are commenting on my videos saying they are happy seeing me trying to fix it.
I hope to work for you in the mechanical department. I have a great passion for American motors. I love him more than anything in my life. I consider American motors a way of life and cannot live without it.
I'd drop 900 on that Beetle in a heartbeat. Always wanted one and have been looking for a project. It's a little too far from me here in KS, though. Most of the old VW stuff here either seems to be rotten or priced high, but I guess that comes with the territory.
One of your earlier episodes you were in Midland Texas and the Permian Basin Museum with the Chaparral Gallery...great stuff. We were there recently to see the Chaparrals that I saw as a fifteen year old kid at the now defunct Bridgehampton track. One think I bet you missed was Johnneys BBQ in town. It is the best but next to their parking lot in downtown Midland are two British double decker derelicts sitting there. I have a photo but I'm not sure how to attach it here. If you want a copy of it email me.
That basement though. That Guy is like a low-key Jay Leno. Way cool
What a great Tribute to my dear Friend Red Blake at the end of this video. Thanks for including him in this Video. R.I.P. Red.
See kid's if you take care of yourself you to can ride a motorcycle at 80 bravo to him
Luck plays a factor as well, sometimes you take care of yourself and nature shoves her foot straight up your ass as if to say, oh there you are!

Damn 80 still riding the Harley 🤘👍
Im hoping to still be riding my Harley when I am that age!!!
Amen brother lol
Riding will keep you young or kill you young. He won.

I really, really enjoy Tom's chatter. He is one quality character. Great personality. He is polite and insightful...student and teacher!
"I dont really ever finish anything." Hey at least he's honest!
At least he put "meres" on his truck JUST IN CASE he ever gets around to actually finishing anything.
As far as I can see he isn't a mechanic. He just likes chucking things together so they look like a veehickle and then expects someone else to come along and finish the job.
At least most his cars are inside and not just rotting away in the yard
Team33 yep, theyre ornaments now.
That house is amazing, building your house to fit your collection of runners and non runners, that’s what winning looks like.
Great video as ALWAYS Tom but please please please make them LONGER !!!! Thumbs up from Ohio !!!
Dito from Down Under Down Under (Hobart- Tasmania) :-) :-) :-)
I just can't get over the fact that the 80 year old man is like he's still in his 20's.
Your only as old as you feel!..and I plan to be to get that far in age and still work on cars...
Says he was a firefighter, probably kept in good shape for a long time.
I know someone just like him, and the guys had more cars than Henry Ford...
thats when passion hits u hard enough when being a kid .....that u can't stop being 20
I just came here to see who comments about the 80 year old!
Tom is the Bob Ross of car guys! I could watch him for hours in a state of zen.
I come from a family of drag racing watching this show I have gotten so interested in so many other cars besides drag cars very cool show

That's a great little Beetle. Looks to be a 58-60. What a find!

I’m happy we got another Bard Find Video. And now we wait for the straight 8 rebuild!
I love this stuff. So happy you do it. Thanks for sharing.
Nice little 1965-ish beetle at a bargain price! Thanks for another great video Tom.
its amazing how this woodey wagon is still running amazing
THANK U FOR UR EFFORT AND UR JOURNEYS
A true Inspiration running around at 80 on a Harley and it appears he has all of his mind working correctly plus he is keeping up with the World
Great stuff Mr Tom
Isn’t great that people are willing to show what they have.
its the reason they "have" it in the first place.
to git looked at
This reminded me of my grandpa, he has a 31 model A. I called him after watching this. Thank you.
*How do they ignore that van at **1:02** ?!?! The guy at the beginning (Reuben I think his name was) seemed like a pretty cool fellow.* 😎👍
Haha, that van was a disposable GM work vehicle.

Holy smokes that woody pulls!!!
oh wow, thats a steal for that VW in that condition

If I lived in the USA I'd buy this beetle immediately, you can't even get a bag of rust for that money here in the UK.

That 80-year old man makes me feel ashamed (looks over at the dust-covered exercise bike in the corner). Awesome video!
tom as always great show...but the best part is that your not afraid to drive your woody
This channel is fantastic.

The best was at the very end of the video, that was cool!!!
Thanks for posting and sharing. So exciting and interesting to see what you found👍

He is 80 and still driving a harley! In my country 80 year old men can't even walk on their own! Wow!
The camera quality is awesome
awesome.... what a terrific episode...
That beetle would be a sweet deal!
I remember I drove down 80 one time going to CO and there was a whole hillside of old cars going out of Salt Lake City heading east.
OLD CAR, BEST CAR !!!
Would have liked to seen that Lamborghini
Great show as usual 👍👍
The replacement parts for that bug are dirt cheap in central Mexico, I'm talking 5-10 bucks.
