I've just downloaded the new Cine Tracer on OS Catalina and unfortunately it doesn't open. Are there any reports/fixes to help?

Well... My concerns as a "veteran user".
1) I made some work in here for future proyects that Im been working on. It would be great to NOT TO LOSE ALL SONE WORK. An import tools would be great.
2) This is gonna be a game or a tools for those we work on film industry?. I'v using it mostly for story boarding and recomending it. But sometimes like this, IDK is should keep doing it. As I said: I dont want to lose work done.
3) We need more models to work. In this industry we work with kids, old man, animals, small objects, we need to move those objects on hand.
4) We will have more materials on differerent colors? Or we be able to change colors on materials?.
Suggestion:
A pallette of used colors woulde be great!.

2) is the biggest issue for me. I'm not sure what this is supposed to be. A video game for educational purposes? Or a tool for film makers. Right now it's sort of a bad version of both. Once it picks a lane of what it wants to be, then it will iron out a lot of stuff and a roadmap can be planned.
Until v1.0 there will be many "wipes" to the save format. I will be leaving the older versions on Steam so people in production can use them. There are a lot things that will be added and removed as we round out the system.
I would love to see basketball fields and football courts.

Performance drops a lot in the middle because the "Grass Block" is super expensive right now to render. I'll simplifying that block soon.
I suck at drawing storyboards. This is software is going to make my storyboarding so much better. Keep up the good work :-)

How long do we have to wait before the game is usable?
I paid £70 for this game and there are basically no assets. The controls are buggy as hell. There are no tutorials.
I feel like I was promised a final product but spent an obscene amount of money on an alpha release.
I can't wait for the basketball fields.

Maps are gone and were causing many issues long term. In time the pre-fabs will be as featured as the maps were, but more modular.

Hello I instaled on Imac 27inch and it is working but the problem is in the game i canot use mouse? I canot pan and move or click with the mouse ??? pleasse help

How do u animate the character in cine tracer?? And where can we see the timeline?
My laptop is 15” MacBook Pro 2019 8 cores Radeon Pro Vega 20 ,4GB HBM2 . Run on mac os Mojave.
The problem is the Cine Tracer has gone black unexpectedly every time after launching it around 10 to 30 Sec. and then returning to Steam menu. I did update Steam to 64bits Client. What’s wrong? Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Hi I'm constantly getting the same issues and my mac is powerful enough to run cine tracer. But after literally trying everything, I can tell you what I do know. So firstly, don't worry, it has nothing to do with your pc not being strong enough to support cine tracer anymore so at least you can know that you'll be able to play it again. All I know is that the issue is actually with steam itself. And I'm pretty sure it's because you have to change something with your pc so it can recognize cine tracer. Because when cine tracer opens it's not actually opening the app, it's opening cine tracer through the crash report, showing that your pc isn't actually crashing the game, but yet just not recognizing it at all. Anticipating the crash before it even opens. So what can you do about it, the first way was to delete steam and re download it, but that didn't work for me either, something else that might work is by following these instructions.
Go to ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/Steam.AppBundle/. You'll find a folder called Steam, and inside is a folder call contents. This is actually an application, change the Steam folder to Steam.app, agree to let the OS add the extension, and then double-click on the new app. It'll create a NEW folder called Steam, but leave the Steam.app folder behind. Drag this Steam.app folder to your Applications, replacing the old app. Now you have a 64bit version of Steam in your Applications folder and didn't have to worry about deleting the wrong thing.
If this doesn't work, try uninstalling cine tracer then reinstall it.
For me, none of these things worked but I've gotten reports where they did work. If you've found something that worked please let me know.

there is a post on Steam that addresses this and how to work around the issue. Apple now enforces some new security features on top of the 64bit requirement that I haven't update Cine Tracer to deal with yet.

If you are on MacOS, there is a post on Steam that explains the work around.

Does this allow me to bring in object and levels a that i have already built in UE4? Also can i bring in or somehow composite animated 2d image planes, either video with transparent BG or png sequences or UE flips books etc.? Thank you so much, look like an amazing project. Also are there any functions for a VCam like using the uRemote mobile app to control/record the shots?
There isn't any import/export workflow at the moment. However, it's a long term goal to have a workflow between CT and UE4 Editor. We will see how this develops over time.

Great changes. I like you could actually switch off snapping when needed. Hope you could mark an object and freely movie it and that you could turn on snapping and snapp to that object even if the objects position "isnt on the grid".

Anyone else have major performance drops when using CC actors? Especially when they're in a small room?
they require a lot of texture memory, lower performance versions will come in the future

Only the Parametric Cube as measurements. The rest are 4Mx4M and can't change.

I had to hop into the auto update settings on steam and mess around, it worked eventually.

No problem - Apple has to throw away FCP at 7 to completely re-factor video editing into FCPX. Typical development cycle once the parameters can be abstracted from the original concept/prototype.

For anyone new who needs to know how to get to Steam Beta (to access the older 0.34 version of CineTracer) then follow this guide: m.wikihow.com/Enable-Steam-Beta
You shouldn't release these types of updates until you can give us the things to replace. We also need warnings on these kinds of things so we can not upgrade by choice in the meantime and at least finish projects we're in the middle of.

@@jordandowler2344 I'm speaking in general. I've already fallen victim to destructive updates. Like losing the torch or sets I've built. And I may not want this upgrade at all, until it has something to offer. Why have it on my computer and make it a hassle for me to open my working Cine Tracer projects. Stuff like this doesn't need to be made public to us until it's equal to what we're working with. This is not the kind of beta testing they should be using us for. We don't need "updates" if they take things away without giving us something to replace it. Just becomes a hindrance. We also don't usually get any warning ahead of time. Steam updates it when you launch and then suddenly you're missing what you need.
Daakins Productions okay but what do you think this video is? He prefaced literally all of your complaints in the video and on top of that he’s been saying for weeks that this update is coming and it changes a lot and breaks old saves.
@@XfarglesX I don't follow his twitter. I'm only on the RUclips. But I can't completely back out of updating my software. Again, I'm speaking about the future, because I've already had things broken in the middle of working on them, Small and large. It would be great if I can just not update the software but that's not an option. And we can't always use older versions. Here he says we can. But I'm taking about these issues as they have been persistent. Not pertaining solely to this singular video. I would like them to replace what they break BEFORE forcing us to update. Could be something small like how I was able to use the practical torch light as a campfire, but suddenly there was no way to have fire light anymore when the torch was just up and deleted in an update with no warning. It would be fine if there was a new fire element with new mechanics that I could replace in the scene. But instead I had nothing to use as fire anymore.
Daakins Productions like I said, he posts all of this on all of his social media’s. Even the RUclips video a few days ago said old saves wouldn’t work. He puts out ample information to let people know what’s going on. This is beta software. Things will cha he before we get to 1.0 release. If you have that much of a problem with it I wouldn’t use beta software.

It seems to be more like a video game cinematography editor, not so much for profesional cinematography for films, maybe I miss understood what was this for, my bad, but right now, this is just helpful as a reference editor, not much more. Like....
1. What do we need a character for? is not a video game obviously...
2. Soft lights have no real sources? like fresnel, HDMI, Tungsten, fluorescence etc... behind the a frame with a muslim cloth or Full diffusion etc?
3. Profesional lights equipment is not accurate? Sky Panel can be spotted as I saw in another of your videos? what is the use of that?
4. What about different lights sources, different diffusions elements, size and density of light, and how it affect to shadows?.... non of that?
5. Real measurements on distances and sizes, and on power of lights, like how much light we get from each real projector, how does it flood or spot etc.... how many lumens it gives, stops...
Cool tool, but lot to improve i guess, it looks a bit lost at this stage still..... it is to play? to learn? for storyboards? or for serious pre-lighting scenarios?
Are all these implemented in last version? to give it a more professional use?

This is a big topic. But in general, I'm translating traditional cinematography into the CURRENT real time rendering / game development tools. Lighting is very expensive to calculate and it's only within the last few months that Ray Tracing allows us to even start to simulate real lighting in a video game and it's got many years of development before it's even close to what traditional post Path Tracing can do today.
