Epica is getting better every year
I was yesterday in 013 with their 20th anniversary show. The sound of the whole band was just from out of this world. And Simone's beautiful crystal clear soprano voice was so angelic and powerful at the same time! She brought here and there some tears in my eyes. I simply love Epica and Simone more and more with each day!!
The day Epica lays it down for last time will be a mournful loss for this world....just thinking of it is too much.
They are, without a doubt, my favorite metal band.

The Holographic Principle has such a special place in my heart! i get so much nostalgia from that album and it always reminds me of winter and christmas because that was when i discovered that album and really got into Epica's music. Also the same goes for The Solace System!
One of my favs too! And the EP is great as well.

Since the anniversary concert I have tried to figure out when I first started listening to Epica and I think it was around 2012 with Requiem for the Indifferent but I think the first song I ever encountered was Never Enough.
Same! I think I became a die-hard EPICA fan somewhere around pre "Requiem For The Indifferent" era, I remember waiting around for it to be released like it was yesterday even though it's been more than 10 years ever since! Many people dislike and disregard this album but it has a special place in my heart.❤ "Façade Of Reality" is the song that captured me and got me into EPICA though..This song still blows off my mind..💣💥
Storm the sorrow for me. I played it a hundred times on repeat after i heard it.
This seems a little bit more like a Simone evolution as its mostly Simone's vocals. And as much as she's the main vocalist, Mark's vocals are very prominent. They picked specific parts of the songs that didn't contain Mark especially when playing Victims of Contingency twice.
To put the spotlight mainly on Simone is a short-sighted take. And one that's all too common with any band, unfortunately. Listen to the music and not just who is singing. The sound of the band that recorded The Phantom Agony sounds exponentially different from the Epica that exists now. It goes far beyond Simone's vocals.

Trying to remember first Epica song ive heard... Hope it was "cry for the moon". At list, first that got me. Then "phantom agony" and "solitary ground".
Diffferent, but special were Xystus-Equilibrio with Simone (actually i did not realise then that it was she 😁).

The Quantum Enigma, The Holographic Principle e o Omega são obras de arte finíssimas que vão ficar eternizadas no Metal Sinfônico, eles melhoraram em todos os âmbitos
@@Guijulful horríveis é o mais do mesmo, Epica foi grandioso nos dois primeiros tanto que o consign to oblivion é o melhor deles
The quantum enigma além de trazer umas visões filosoficas beeeem questionaveis e de gosto duvidoso, ainda tem melodias bem chatinhas. Pra mim o Epica é mais agradavel mesmo até Design Your Universe e só.
Ah então beleza galera, eu discordo muito de vcs, The Holographic Principle é o meu álbum favorito de toda a discografia.

No me gusta la combinacion de dos generos distintos: la mezcla del heavy metal con la musica clasica sinfonica. Aparte los coros masculinos estan de mas, de hecho esos coristas masculinos arruinan la cancion. Es mejor que cante sola
