    I just got a Cricut a month ago and want to thank you for the wealth of information and care in which you relay your craft to your students. The sheer amount of work you produce during this holiday is both inspiring and a bit concerning. Please remember to take time for you and your family. Thank you again for all the information.

    I love your videos. I'm learning alot. Just got a joy. I work with resin and got it because I've got terrible writing. I may have a suggestion though on the stretched canvas so you don't have to take it apart. Resin wants to sag in the middle so I use 4 inch ceramic tiles stacked underneath. They are heat resistant and really cheap. Usually stack 2 for standard canvas. It just depends on your canvas size how many stacks you need. It might work for that. Thank you for all the tutorials you have made. I've been binge watching. I never knew all the different applications you can use it for.

    @jennifermaker do it matters if the canvas is primed or not? Will primed or unprimed determine if the HTV adheres and stay permanently? Do you recommend a sealant for quality and duration? Thanks!

    Can you use glitter htv on the last layer? The words?

  • @dawnprovenzano5892

    Hello Jennifer. I used Cricut iron on vinyl on a painted stretch canvas. I let the canvas dry 1 day before applying the htv. I followed the heat guide temperature and time. I also used a fitted book underneath the canvas, and after pressing it onto the canvas, I have little spots on the iron on vinyl. Can you tell me how to avoid this happening again? Thank you.

    • @JenniferMaker
      @JenniferMaker  Месяц назад

      It sounds like you followed the right steps, but here are a few additional tips that might help you avoid those little spots on your iron-on vinyl for next time:
      Ensure the Canvas is Completely Dry: While you mentioned letting the canvas dry for a day, sometimes paint can take longer to fully cure, especially if it's applied thickly. Make sure the canvas is completely dry and cured before applying the vinyl.
      Use a Smooth Surface: Ensure that the book or any other object you place underneath the canvas is completely flat and smooth. Any unevenness can cause pressure points that might result in spots.
      Even Pressure: Apply even pressure across the entire design. If your heat press or iron is smaller than the design, press in sections with a slight overlap to ensure even heating.
      Protective Layer: Consider using a piece of parchment paper or a Teflon sheet between the iron and the vinyl to help distribute the heat more evenly and protect the vinyl from direct contact with the heat source.
      Check for Debris: Make sure there is no dust or debris on the canvas or the vinyl before pressing, as these can cause imperfections.
      Heat Settings: Double-check the heat settings and ensure they are appropriate for both the vinyl and the canvas material. Sometimes, adjusting the temperature slightly can make a difference.
      Cooling Time: Allow the vinyl to cool completely before peeling the carrier sheet. This can help ensure that the vinyl adheres properly and reduces the risk of spots.
      By following these additional steps, you should be able to achieve a smoother finish on your iron-on vinyl projects. If you continue to experience issues, it might be worth experimenting with different brands or types of vinyl to see if that makes a difference. Good luck with your next project!
