- 4 years in the making, Hype Master is a moving tribute to Shaun Lewis - AKA Stormin MC - profiling his meteoric rise in grime and drum & bass, his inspirational fighting spirit, and his battle with cancer.
FULL SYNOPSIS:
Music was in his blood. Growing up around like-minded individuals they set out to pioneer a whole new musical genre that became known as “Grime”. From the streets of Bow, East London, to sold-out venues across the world, Shaun Lewis, aka Stormin MC, touched countless lives through his words, his sound and his irresistible energy.
His meteoric rise seemed to have no bounds, until he was given news that would rock himself, his family and the music scene; he was diagnosed with cancer. Hype Master is an intimate, humanistic portrait of an artist who never stopped fighting overcome the odds.

Not gonna lie, in tears right now considering what this guy went through and for the kids he left behind. But he also left behind a legacy and some amazing memories for a lot of people. Me being one of them. RIP. MC Stormin.
Its been a hard road we are still grieving thank you everyone who has supported Shaun through his life of music and his journey of his illness being his mum going through this has been hard so big thank you all his fans he loved you all
Amazing documentary. So sad, I held it together until the part where his little boy was crying " I love daddy so much " that really got me 😪😭😪😭

So many people in the scene speak highly of Stormin. Just go back through youtube and check all the interviews he does and all the MCs that speak on him. Truly a REAL one.

Growing up Stormin was my favourite grime mc. Every monday 8-10 de-ja-vu 92.3 I can still remember some of his lyrics word for word. Major influence towards myself as an artist. Thank you Stormin R.I.P to a legend
A very heart-wrenching story of a truly unique MC from the golden era. Always took note of his achievements since the Kool Skool MC Competition and his shows on Flava FM 87.6. His legacy lives on!!! Rest in peace!!! I know you're raving with Stevie Hyper D in the clouds!!

@@mattgreaves2630 Yeah we have some early sets of him on Flava FM back in 2000 with Marcus Nasty in our Flava FM playlist also a banging set with him and Sharkie Major with Randy C. Plus all some of the NASTY Crew sets on Deja Vu FM. They're all UK Garage/Grime sets though. I'll try and get hold of some of the Kool Skool MC Competition tapes with Stormin, Maxwell D, Ninja B and Durrty Goodz.

We have no idea, we have no idea what anyone is going through, this is a massive reality check. We can learn so much about valuing life, just how Stormin did.
I looked after my dad for 2 years through cancer and he died because he and others saw it as a stigma.
The fact that an artist uses his own personal struggle to make more people aware and let's you into his family circle makes him a legend in my eyes.

Just come across this doc and what a master piece…,never truly understood Shaun’s battle with cancer. I always remember as a kid surfing the air waves and coming across rinse fm and hearing MC Stormin live on a set for the first time with the nasty crew.💯The end got me with Skibba paying tribute to him on stage now knowing in time he’s up there with MC Stormin. Rest in piece kings…,you both left a major mark on my life with music and I thank you both for that!!!!✌️❤

This documentary got me in tears reminded me of so many memories I had with him, we spoke personally on a level before the SASAS bus tour London and was chilling with him on the bus and he was genuinely the best Mc ever makes me so proud to listen to DNB I was heartbroken when he passed away best sets I’ve seen was when he was alive 2013-2017 I miss him so much the scene was not the same without him I miss you and love you stormin RIP... sadly my last memory of him was at Inno when his voice was broken and I remember saying to myself this is the last memories and moments you have of him....I’m happy he is in peace now .... BUSS IT
A wicked, wicked documentary, I just wish it was more focussed on his music than his cancer

Wow….what a guy…stormin!!! I had to comment after watching this and to see what a great guy taken to soon!!! I’m 50 years old and I’m not shy to say I was in tears more than once!!! He was one hell of a guy….father and son!!! Makes you realise how lucky we are!!! I want to send my deepest condolences to all his close family and to the drum and bass family….my guy you are truly missed!!!!

Very emotional watch. RIP MC Stormin - a very inspirational human being who overcame struggles in life and fought until the very end. I'll never forget the time I saw him live for the first time at Skibba's birthday bash at fire in 2010 - he absolutely rinsed it, more so than any other MC on the night!!

After a sick night full of energy, NewYears Vibes, a couple E&Wizz, we was ready to finish the night to the main headline!
As I was skankin it out at to SaSaSaS for the final (bearingind mind this was my 1st SaS set)
Stormin was rockin it man couldn't stop foot steppin, GunFingazz! Best rave!
When Stormin started Spittin I did get abit triped out and wondered if I was seeing shit or if there was a skin condition.

Stormin was the first MC I ever saw live! I was only 16 @ Club Ice In Westbury BPM event! The night before the event I couldn’t sleep because I was so excited to see him perform! 🔥 He was amazing! Definitely a massive inspiration for me! I will never forget Stormin! RIP 🙏 #BussIt
