- In the grimy underbelly of East London, two of the most iconic grime artists of the era, MC Trim and MC Stormin, found themselves embroiled in a lyrical war that shook the very foundations of the grime music scene.
Their neighbourhood's, each with its unique character and ambiance, bristled under the tension of this musical standoff, as if anticipating the thunderous clash of grime titans.
Trim, born and bred in East London, had a reputation for his sharp lyrics and quick wit, while Stormin, hailing from Plaistow, was known for his fiery stage presence and his capability to captivate crowds with his wordplay.
As much as this was a clash between two artists, it was also a clash between the raw, visceral energy of East London and the poetic, lyrical flow of Plaistow.

All due respect to Stormin (RIP) he was a legend in the scene no doubt about it, but his dub back for Trim was WEAK. Trim started and finished this beef in a single dub. The Lowdon is one of the greatest tracks in Grime history full stop. The wordplay and aggression is unmatched, Stormin's dub sounded like a nursery rhyme by comparison
I chilled with stormin before back in the day. He was better at freestyles accapella. He was freestylin with my friend for around a hour.

Plaistow is in East London, so comparing east London to Plaistow doesn't sound right. By 2006 the beef was dead. It began in 2004 and carried into 05

I watched that interview b4 but u gotta keep making these videos. Its hard for me to know alot of grime stuff cuz im from the U.S. and none of that is over here. I just started getting obssessed with grime in like 2017 or 18 but iv listened to almost nothing but and spent hours and hours sluething through interviews and old videos, so i do know alot but could always know more. U know whats weird there was a trim interview on a show, i forget what it was but it was episode 5 of that show, and they deleted it and erased it from the internet because trim said that grime was all fake. I believe thats why it disapeared. I listened to it when it first came out

Stormin had a strap on him for that set, because he knew TRIM was coming, the beef started waaaaaaay before that set, it wasn’t a nasty crew set it was a mixed East London/ East Co set

It was a road issue before hand and carried on the roads, they ran into each other loads of times, Marcus ran down Trim, Trim had to get police escort out of sidewinder, Trim tried stab Fazey 45, he punched MarcusNasty baby mum, all sorts…

RIP Stormin! But I'd be disingenuous if I didn't tell you every time Trim opened his mouth and said something disrespectful about ANYBODY it ended up on my MP3 player with the swiftness. Trim was defo one of my favourite MCs backkaday, his Soulfood mixtapes and all that, I was kinda disappointed he fell out with Wiley but even that clash was hilarious. That first clash you played on the Bruza riddim 😂me and my bredrin used to skank to that and reload it like it was a funky tune. I got a memory of my boy crip walkin' to "aint got a chance, on your face I'll dance!" and me dying laughing. Definitely a Grime Legend.
