Little secret... that powder/ glue stuff is just superglue and bi-carb soda. I use it for plastic repair all the time. Get the cheapest superglue you can buy from bunnings - its about $1.50 for 6 little tubes, theyre red and black. Then plain old bi carb. Works wonders. Cheers
I know I'm a bit late but that nylon bush, I've made similar using my drill as a lathe. Mount the drill in a vice and use a bolt to hold the job in the chuck. Files, sandpaper and sharpened pieces of wire and steel mare great for cutting and shaping
the only problem with watching your videos is that i end up postponing the resto of my 74 bj40! love ya work mate. have certainly encouraged me to try parts of the resto that i would haven’t considered before.
Great job on that heater unit rebuild! Quick question, where did you get the new foam pads with the adhesive backing for the front and back of the little gate? Thanks again.
Great video, thanks heaps. I’ve just started a rebuild of a farm fresh 1979 HJ45. Just wondering if you have more details on the foam you use, would you have a link where I can find some..thanks, Adam.
Hi NC, Yes you would have to, and there will still be a little bit of coolant in your heater pipes and heater core so put some towels down in the cab to catch any water/coolant that may come out when removing.
Hey mate, I just got my blower working, trying to get my heater working, I can get hot air from the window on defog, and hot air from the vent near the floor, but the vents near the stereo only blows cold/warm air, any ideas where the issue might be. Cheers
Your attention to detail is amazing mate, watching every episode from NZ 🇳🇿

🤣 Do postpone to long mate.
It's getting cold in Europe, around 10°C during the day, so it's high time to refresh my memory on how to clean this bad boy :)
Great Work. Always nice to see good refurbishment especially on a 40 series.
Well done real very accurate renewing job I just impressed for that and also very nice story at end of the vlog 😀
Always top notch work!

Superglue and baking soda does the plastic repair as well.
Excellent video yet again.👍👍
Would love to own a LC40.
Thanks Neil, I think you need to get yourself a 40.
@@40ChannelCruiser would do but their pretty thin on the ground here in the UK.

G'day Adam, the foam is a closed cell foam with a adhesive back. Just brought from local rubber shop, most hardware shops will have it too.
Just starting on my ‘74, is there a specific foam you used? What specs for the form to seal the air flow….you used?
I sure wish I could find a replacement spring! Mine is shot. does anyone know?
Do you have to drain the main radiator before you disconnect the radiator on the heater box?

@@40ChannelCruiser thanks! You should make a paid video series where you cover all the service and parts replacement how tos. I’d pay for that.
Ive been looking for that foam you have, any link to where you got yours? Cheers

Could you link the foam
Hi Bill, you should be able to get it from your local rubber and foam shop.
That is were I brought it from.
What size is the star retainer? really enjoying your videos. Subscribed!
I feel guilty. I have just removed 3 heater box's from 2 bj42 and 1 fj40 and they all got tossed in the bin.
Me watching this not knowing my dad was at the end of this.
Hey Mate! sweet!
Building a bj45. 5 gear..
