Brighton: Born out of one of the most cultured, eccentric and vibrant music scenes, Brighton based band The Big Push are a charismatic indie rock and roll collective with their sounds, style and identity firmly rooted in their stomping grounds of Brighton bustling streets, where “Ship Street just off the the Main Street running through the centre of town is a good street to busk on.
Busking is something that is embedded deep within this band's blood from day one of their formation, so much so members Ren, Romain, Gorran and Glenn came to be after coming across each other curbside in this popular seaside city. Busking has had a profound impact on not only growing the band's career and getting the instant opportunity to perform original and cover songs in real time, but also seeing the turnout and support system of people grow every time The Big Push take to the streets. “I think we are still so surprised everything we go and we see all these people we just go wow. Even though it happens every single time now, I still find it remarkable. Everything really snowballed when we started posting busking videos on RUclips and they started to get millions of views, that started to have a massive impact on the amount of people starting to come and see us.” speaks an almost speechless acoustic guitar holding Romain Axisa, reflecting on the staggering and sheer volume of passionate fans and passers by piling into the bands planned busking performances.
There are all different kinds of things going into The Big Push’s sound” Kendall continues on the bands that have played a part in The Big Push building their own brand of rock and roll music that embodies the raucous and passionate energy they bring to their busking set ups. but what is it about this bands busking videos that are so successful? “I think people enjoy watching them because it’s very organic,” recalls Romain on the reason behind the band's viral video sensation. “We enjoy it so much and because of that, people are able to feel it and you can tell their shared passion and good time for watching us busk.
